Rare earth permanent magnetic materials have been invented for more than 50 years, and have extensive applications in many fields of national economy. The cover image is a typical magnetic domain structure at thermal demagetized state, which is obtained by using magnetic force mocroscopy in the area of tens of micrometers on the surface of anisotropic Rare-earth-Fe-B sintered magnet at ambient condtion. The zebra-like strip pattern reflects the difference of magnetic field distribution between adjacent regions. The domain structure is the result of minimization of total energy in the surface layer of the magnet. Technically, both the magnetic domain structure and the crystalline microstructure are adjusted simutaneously by opitimizing the chamical composition and fabrication technology, for fabricating improved performance rare earth permanent magnetic materials.
