Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2017, Volume 11, Issue 3,   Pages 286-292 doi: 10.1007/s11709-017-0415-9

Abstract: A wind pressure sensor based on fiber Bragg grating (FBG) for engineering structure was investigated in this paper. We established a transaction model of wind pressure to strain and proposed a method of temperature compensation. By finite element analysis, the basic parameters of the sensor were optimized with the aim of maximum strain under the basic wind pressure proposed in relative design code in China taking geometrical non-linearity into consideration. The result shows that the wind pressure sensor we proposed is well performed and have good sensing properties, which means it is a technically feasible solution.

Structural optimal design of a swing vane compressor

Junjie MA,Xiang CHEN,Zongchang QU

Frontiers in Energy 2019, Volume 13, Issue 4,   Pages 764-769 doi: 10.1007/s11708-016-0449-z

Abstract: In this paper, a novel swing vane rotary compressor (SVC) was introduced, which had significant advantages—simple mechanism, reduced frictional loss, reliable operation, and a comparatively higher compression ratio. Based on the swing vane compressor geometry model, thermodynamic model and kinetic model, the mathematical model of optimum design was established, and further theoretical and experimental studies were conducted. The length of the cylinder, radius of the rotor and cylinder were defined as design variables and the reciprocal of EER as objective function. The complex optimization method was adopted to study the structure of the swing vane compressor. The theoretical model could provide an effective method for predicting compressor performance, which would also contribute to structural optimization of the SVC. The study shows that the friction loss of the compressor are greatly reduced by optimized design in a given initial value, and the EER increased by 8.55%.

Qi NIU,Xuegeng CHEN,Chao JI,Jie WU

Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering 2015, Volume 2, Issue 4,   Pages 347-354 doi: 10.15302/J-FASE-2015077

Abstract: It is imperative to carry out research on residual plastic film collection technology to solve the serious problem of farmland pollution. The residual plastic film baler was designed as a package for film strip collection, cleaning and baling. The collection device is a core component of the baler. Response surface analysis was used in this study to optimize the structure and working parameters for improving the collection efficiency of residual film and the impurity of film package. The results show that the factors affecting the collection rate of residual film and the impurity of the film package are the speed ratio ( ) between the trash removal roller and eccentric collection mechanism, the number ( ) and the mounting angle ( ) of spring teeth in the same revolution plane. For the collection rate, the importance of the three factors are in the order, . Meanwhile, for the impurity, the importance of three factors are in the order, . When the speed ratio, the mounting angle and the number of spring teeth was set at 1.6°, 45°, and 8°, respectively, the collection rate of residual film was 88.9% and the impurity of residual film package was 14.2% for the baler.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 10,   Pages 1413-1534 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900586

Abstract: The super giant slalom (Super-G) is a speed event in alpine skiing, in which the skier trajectory has a significant influence on the athletes’ performances. It is a challenging task to determine an for the skiers along the entire course because of the complexity and difficulty in the convergence of the optimization model. In this study, a model for alpine skiers competing in the Super-G is established based on the theory, in which the objective is to minimize the runtime between the starting point and the finish line. The original problem is converted into a multi-phase nonlinear problem solved with a , and the trajectory parameters are optimized to discover the time-. Using carried out by the MATLAB optimization toolbox, the is obtained under several equality and inequality constraints. Simulation results reveal the effectiveness and rationality of the model. A test is carried out to show that our code works properly. In addition, several practical proposals are provided to help alpine skiers improve their training and skiing performance.
