M. WIELAND, G.F. KIRCHEN

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2012, Volume 6, Issue 1,   Pages 76-83 doi: 10.1007/s11709-012-0144-z

Abstract: The 130 m high Punt dal Gall dam is located at the Swiss-Italian border in the South-eastern part ofThe dam is founded on highly folded and partially crushed dolomite and limestone formations. For the monitoring of the dam deformations five inverted pendulums were installed in the dam and threein the rock foundation of the right abutment outside of the dam.The paper describes the long-term safety monitoring of this 42 years old arch dam.

Engineering 2016, Volume 2, Issue 4,   Pages 490-497 doi: 10.1016/J.ENG.2016.04.003

Abstract:

The first author proposed the concept of the cemented material dam (CMD) in 2009.This concept was aimed at building an environmentally friendly dam in a safer and more economical wayfor both the dam and the area downstream. The concept covers the cemented sand, gravel, and rock dam (CSGRD), the rockfill concrete (RFC) dam (or the cemented rockfill dam, CRD), and the cemented soil dam (CSD).
