Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 8,   Pages 88-91

Abstract:

In order to study the residual stresses of auto fettage super high pressure vessel effectively,  a new model of stress and strain was developed in this paper.  The model is more closer to actual working condition for the steel applied in auto fettage super high pressure vessel through the strict mathematic testification.  The example to be given in this paper states how this model was established and how the error was analyzed.  The same example also shows that solving the new model of stress and strain based on general tensile curves is feasible and reliable indeed.  The model has theoretical signification and engineering practical value to a certain extend.

Behavior of steel fiber–reinforced high-strength concrete at medium strain rate

Chujie JIAO, Wei SUN, Shi HUAN, Guoping JIANG

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2009, Volume 3, Issue 2,   Pages 131-136 doi: 10.1007/s11709-009-0027-0

Abstract: Impact compression experiments for the steel fiber–reinforced high-strength concrete (SFRHSC) at medium strain rate were conducted using the split Hopkinson press bar (SHPB) testing method. The volume fractions of steel fibers of SFRHSC were between 0 and 3%. The experimental results showed that, when the strain rate increased from threshold value to 90 s , the maximum stress of SFRHSC increased about 30%, the elastic modulus of SFRHSC increased about 50%, and the increase in the peak strain of SFRHSC was 2-3 times of that in the matrix specimen. The strength and toughness of the matrix were improved remarkably because of the superposition effect of the aggregate high-strength matrix and steel fiber high-strength matrix. As a result, under impact loading, cracks developed in the SFRHSC specimen, but the overall shape of the specimen remained virtually unchanged. However, under similar impact loading, the matrix specimens were almost broken into small pieces.

New Development of Double Glow Plasma Surface Metallurgy Technology

Xu Zhong,Zhang Gaohui,Zhang Pingze,Zhang Yanmei,Chi Chengzhong,Yuan Qinglong

Strategic Study of CAE 2005, Volume 7, Issue 6,   Pages 73-78

Abstract:

This paper summarises some new development of the double glow plasma surface metallurgy technology in the last few years: Ti - Cu and Ti - Cr burn-resistant alloys have been produced on the surfaces of titanium and titanium alloy Ti6A14V. Co - W - Mo - Fe age-hardened high speed steel and high Cr alloy have been formed on the surface of carbon steels. Ti - Cu wear-resistant alloy was also produced on the surface of pure copper. By using this process and solid graphite as carbon source, hydrogen-free carburising has been achieved in order to avoid hydrogen embrittlement of titanium. The experimental results indicate that the double glow plasma surface metallurgy is an advanced and powerful method for surface alloying.
