A New People-oriented Designing Concept on Mine Machine

Peng Youduo,Liu Deshun,Liu Fanmao,Zhang Yongzhong,He Fenghua

Strategic Study of CAE 2005, Volume 7, Issue 2,   Pages 86-90

Abstract:

In view of the traditional design concept, the main aim of which is to satisfy the mine machine's function, this article brings forward a new design idea which is based on ergonomics and satisfies consumers including drivers and riders, as well as all person in its working environment. Based on the example of a hydraulic winder, the outward appearance, yawp debasing, operating and controlling system, security and riding comfortableness are all analysed in the paper.

Achievements of the national malaria control and elimination program in the People’s Republic of China

Frontiers of Medicine 2023, Volume 17, Issue 1,   Pages 85-92 doi: 10.1007/s11684-021-0917-7

Abstract: In 2017, China achieved the target of zero indigenous malaria case for the first time, and has been certified as malaria free by World Health Organization in 2021. To further summarize the historical achievements and technical experiences of the elimination program, a project on the Roadmap Analysis and Verification for Malaria Elimination in China was carried out. Results of the project were compiled and published as the Atlas of Malaria Transmission in China (The Atlas). The Atlas using modern digital information technologies, has been supported by various data from 24 malaria endemic provinces of China since 1950, to assess the changes in malaria epidemic patterns from 1950 to 2019 at national and provincial levels. The Atlas is designed as two volumes, including a total of 1850 thematic maps and more than 130 charts, consisting of introductory maps, thematic maps of malaria epidemic and control at national and provincial levels. It objectively and directly shows the epidemic history, evolution process, and great achievements of the national malaria control and elimination program in China. The Atlas has important reference value for summing up historical experience in the national malaria elimination program of China, and malaria control and elimination in other endemic countries in the world.

INTERCROPPING: FEED MORE PEOPLE AND BUILD MORE SUSTAINABLE AGROECOSYSTEMS

Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering 2021, Volume 8, Issue 3,   Pages 373-386 doi: 10.15302/J-FASE -2021398

Abstract:

Intercropping is a traditional farming system that increases crop diversity to strengthen agroecosystem functions while decreasing chemical inputs and minimizing negative environmental effects of crop production. Intercropping is currently considerable interest because of its importance in sustainable agriculture. Here, we synthesize the factors that make intercropping a sustainable means of food production by integrating biodiversity of natural ecosystems and crop diversity. In addition to well-known yield increases, intercropping can also increase yield stability over the long term and increase systemic resistance to plant diseases, pests and other unfavorable factors (e.g. nutrient deficiencies). The efficient use of resources can save mineral fertilizer inputs, reduce environmental pollution risks and greenhouse gas emissions caused by agriculture, thus mitigating global climate change. Intercropping potentially increases above- and below-ground biodiversity of various taxa at field scale, consequently it enhances ecosystem services. Complementarity and selection effects allow a better understanding the mechanisms behind enhanced ecosystem functioning. The development of mechanization is essential for large-scale application of intercropping. Agroecosystem multifunctionality and soil health should be priority topics in future research on intercropping.
