A algorithm for binocular stereo matching in the presence of specular reflections

Lu Sijun,Tang Zhenmin,Guo Longyuan,Lu Ali

Strategic Study of CAE 2010, Volume 12, Issue 1,   Pages 56-60

Abstract:

Traditional stereo correspondence algorithms rely heavily on the Lambertian model of diffuse reflectance. While this diffuse assumption is generally valid for most part of an image, processing of regions that contain specular reflections can result in severe matching errors. In this paper, we address the problem of binocular stereo dense matching in the presence of specular reflections by introducing a novel correspondence measurement which is robust to the specular reflections. Accurate depth can be estimated for both diffuse and specular regions. Unlike the previous works which seek to eliminate or avoid specular reflections using image preprocessing or multibaseline stereo, our approach works in its presence. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of our approach.

Reflection on Development Strategy of Engineering Management Discipline in China

Ying-luo Wang

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2014, Volume 1, Issue 2,   Pages 218-224 doi: 10.15302/J-FEM-2014029

Abstract: A large number of engineering management professionals are required to promote engineering management efficiency, but the existing engineering management training system has some gaps with economical and social development in China. Development of engineering management discipline has very important strategic significance in China. This paper explores the disciplinary characteristics of engineering management, and analyzes the developmental issues about education of engineering management discipline. Meanwhile, the paper also proposes that the construction for development strategy of China’s engineering management discipline should be accelerated in the following aspects: Theoretical system of engineering management must be built and methodology of engineering management needs to be explored and perfected; advantages of various universities should be fully expressed, to show their own characteristics with accurate and reasonable positioning; knowledge system of engineering management discipline must be organized and integrated; practical ability of engineering management professionals needs to be promoted; education level of engineering management discipline should be perfected and training objectives at various levels must be clarified; teaching methods and means have to be reformed.

A Dialogue With the Ancient and Reflection on the Interpretation of History of Bian Que and Traditional

Fu Youfeng

Strategic Study of CAE 2005, Volume 7, Issue 12,   Pages 7-16

Abstract:

Based on the description of epidemic diseases in the chapter of “The Story of Bian Que” in Records of Historian, the author has analyzed and explored the truthfulness of its background data and the possibility of the plague spreading at that time from both macro and micro angles. The symptoms of plague including chills and fever, the digestive symptoms and the symptoms in central nerve system made great influence on the formation of some doctrines in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) such as exopathic heat disease doctrine, internal injury of spleen and stomach doctrine and epidemic febrile disease doctrine. The course of exogenous febrile disease was similar to that of the plague, thus the theory of six meridians was formed. According to above phenomena, the author has explored the effect on the initial medical theory, primitive religion and culture due to the spreading of epidemic diseases from the angles of epidemiology, the theory of images and figures, complicated thought ways depending, as well as archaeological studies. Then the hypothesis of medicine originated from epidemic diseases was proposed. The author also put forward some opinions on the relationship between epidemic diseases spreading and traditional education of TCM, sustained development of TCM education, as well as the integration of TCM and WM.

The practice and reflection on promoting ecological civilization construction by deepening the reform

Chen Xiaohong

Strategic Study of CAE 2013, Volume 15, Issue 11,   Pages 87-91

Abstract:

The research did in-depth analysis on the strategic planning of the construction of "Two-Oriented Society" and ecological civilization made by the 18th CPC National Congress, elaborated the internal connections between the construction of ecological civilization and " Two-Oriented Society", described the practice and achievements of promoting the construction of ecological civilization using "Two-Oriented Society" as the main focus in the Comprehensive Coordinated Reform Trial Areas of the"Two-Oriented Society "in Chang-Zhu-Tan City Cluster. Based on this, the research pointed out structural and institutional obstacles and problems in further promoting the construction of "Two-Oriented Society" and ecological civilization. Finally, focusing on reform and innovation, the research provided suggestions to deepen the reform of the construction of "Two-Oriented Society" and ecological civilization in four aspects, such as dividend of institution, dividend of nomocracy, dividend of development and dividend of market.

The development formulation and reflection of ISO 18186 and some thinking

Bao Qifan

Strategic Study of CAE 2012, Volume 14, Issue 10,   Pages 23-26

Abstract:

The rapid development of economy and the continuous improvement of technical level form a growing voice to enhance our influence on the international standardization activities. ISO 18186∶2011 Freight Container-RFID Shipment Tag System was officially released in 2011 by International Standardization Organization (ISO), which is the first International Standard launched, drafted and led by Chinese experts in the field of the logistics and the internet of things, since China began to participate in ISO activities. The international standard, with “building a complete industrial chain including platform construction, hardware and software design, commercial mode, and system applications” as the technical support and along the route of “technique patented, patent standardized and standard internationalized”, firstly formed the national standard GB/T 23678—2009 and proceeded with the formulation of relevant international standards. This paper describes the development process and method of this International Standard and shares some experience in order to provide some useful help on how to raise our Chinese innovation up to an international standard.

Reflection and innovation pattern of research and development of air pollution treatment technologies

Sun Keqin,Xu Haitao,Shen Kai,Zhou Changcheng,Xu Yanzhong

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 6,   Pages 91-96

Abstract:

According to the discussion of the development course and the current situation of the air pollution treatment technologies in China, the choke point of the research and development (R&D) pattern for air pollution treatment technologies is analyzed and a new technology development pattern is founded. The core of the pattern is multi-scales and system class simulation. The key point experiments and engineering regression are used as assistant instruments. This new pattern is successfully used to develop the flue gas desulfurization and denitrification technology for high capacity power plants. And the technology has already realized the large-scale application. Using this pattern, a new technology can be finally developed and made it maturity in a short period.

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 9,   Pages 1-5

Abstract:

For the purpose of improving the overall sustainable development capacity of coal and realizing the harmonious development on coal utilization, and society, economy, resource and environment, The Chinese Academy of Engineering organized a major consulting project called “Strategic study on clean, efficient, sustainable exploitation and utilization of coal in China” in 2011, which studied the whole coal industrial chain including resource, exploitation, upgrading, transport, combustion, electricity generation, poly-generation, conversion, energy conservation and emission reduction. This paper discusses the strategic position and function of coal, analyzes and summarizes serious problems like security, ecology, greenhouse gas emission caused by massive coal utilization, and proposes the strategic thinking and objectives of clean, efficient, sustainable utilization of coal in China. It also defines strategic measures of “scientific development, overall upgrading, advanced electricity generation, distribution optimization, energy conservation and emission reduction, technical innovation”, which provide scientific support for making plan and policy about coal and energy in China.
