Laboratory diagnosis for malaria in the elimination phase in China: efforts and challenges

摘要: Malaria remains a global health challenge, although an increasing number of countries will enter pre-elimination and elimination stages. The prompt and precise diagnosis of symptomatic and asymptomatic carriers of Plasmodium parasites is the key aspect of malaria elimination. Since the launch of the China Malaria Elimination Action Plan in 2010, China has formulated clear goals for malaria diagnosis and has established a network of malaria diagnostic laboratories within medical and health institutions at all levels. Various external quality assessments were implemented, and a national malaria diagnosis reference laboratory network was established to strengthen the quality assurance in malaria diagnosis. Notably, no indigenous malaria cases have been reported since 2017, but the risk of re-establishment of malaria transmission cannot be ignored. This review summarizes the lessons about malaria diagnosis in the elimination phase, primarily including the establishments of laboratory networks and quality control in China, to better improve malaria diagnosis and maintain a malaria-free status. A reference is also provided for countries experiencing malaria elimination.

Achievements of the national malaria control and elimination program in the People’s Republic of China

摘要: In 2017, China achieved the target of zero indigenous malaria case for the first time, and has been certified as malaria free by World Health Organization in 2021. To further summarize the historical achievements and technical experiences of the elimination program, a project on the Roadmap Analysis and Verification for Malaria Elimination in China was carried out. Results of the project were compiled and published as the Atlas of Malaria Transmission in China (The Atlas). The Atlas using modern digital information technologies, has been supported by various data from 24 malaria endemic provinces of China since 1950, to assess the changes in malaria epidemic patterns from 1950 to 2019 at national and provincial levels. The Atlas is designed as two volumes, including a total of 1850 thematic maps and more than 130 charts, consisting of introductory maps, thematic maps of malaria epidemic and control at national and provincial levels. It objectively and directly shows the epidemic history, evolution process, and great achievements of the national malaria control and elimination program in China. The Atlas has important reference value for summing up historical experience in the national malaria elimination program of China, and malaria control and elimination in other endemic countries in the world.

Cross-sectional prevalence and pattern of non-anaemia severe malaria among 2–10 year olds in Sokoto in

摘要: Malaria is highly prevalent in Nigeria and accounts for approximately 40% of global malaria mortality. However, most reports on severe malaria in Nigeria are from hospital-based studies without accurate information from communities; thus, malaria-related deaths in the community are left untracked. This study aimed to describe the prevalence and pattern of severe malaria in a community in Northwestern Nigeria. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 2–10-year-old children in Sokoto, in August and December 2016, to determine the endemicity of malaria based on Plasmodium falciparum prevalence rate (PfPR2-10) and to describe the disease pattern. Severe malaria was diagnosed according to the World Health Organisation criteria. Data were described using Stata version 15. The prevalence of non-anaemia severe malaria was higher than expected (2.6%), considering the endemicity pattern which was mesoendemic based on a PfPR2-10 of 34.8%. The mean age of children with severe malaria was 3.73 years, and the male–female ratio was 2:1. However, 54.0% of the patients had hyperparasitaemia. A relatively high prevalence of non-anaemia severe malaria was found in Wamakko. This finding suggests the need to identify and treat cases in the community using modifications of current strategies, particularly seasonal malaria chemoprophylaxis.

Efficient promotion of methane hydrate formation and elimination of foam generation using fluorinated

摘要: Methane hydrate preparation is an effective method to store and transport methane. In promoters to facilitate methane hydrate formation, homogeneous surfactant solutions, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in particular, are more favorable than heterogeneous particles, thanks to their faster reaction rate, more storage capacity, and higher stability. Foaming, however, could not be avoided during hydrate dissociation with the presence of SDS. This paper investigated the ability of five fluorinated surfactants: potassium perfluorobutane sulfonate (PBS), potassium perfluorohexyl sulfonate (PHS), potassium perfluorooctane sulfonate (POS), ammonium perfluorooctane sulfonate (AOS), and tetraethylammonium perfluorooctyl sulfonate (TOS) to promote methane hydrate formation. It was found that both PBS and PHS achieve a storage capacity of 150 ( , the volume of methane that can be stored by one volume of water) within 30 min, more than that of SDS. Cationic ions and the carbon chain length were then discussed on their effects during the formation. It was concluded that PBS, PHS, and POS produced no foam during hydrate dissociation, making them promising promoters in large-scale application.

Current advances in the elimination of hepatitis B in China by 2030

摘要:

With its 78 million chronic carriers, hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is still one of the leading public health challenges in China. Over the last two decades, China has made great progress on the prevention of HBV transmission through national vaccination programs. Zero transmission from mother to infant has been proposed as the current goal. Available anti-HBV therapy is efficacious in suppressing HBV replication; however, it fails to completely cure patients with chronic hepatitis B and even requires lifelong treatment. To reduce the costs and improve the efficacy, several trials have been recently conducted in China to optimize the current anti-HBV managements. Novel biomarkers were identified to predict treatment outcomes, and new promising treatment strategies were developed. Reports also indicate that coinfections of HBV with other hepatotropic viruses and human immunodeficiency virus are common in China and cause severe liver diseases, which should be recognized early and treated properly. Work is still needed to eliminate hepatitis B in China by 2030.

通过对ZG32Cr06铸钢粗晶成因的分析及消除粗晶的工艺性能试验,探讨了粗晶导致铸件断裂的机理。试验证明,由于浇铸温度过高,水爆清砂时开箱过早而产生的粗晶可以用热处理方法消除,同时提出了铸件在浇铸时防止粗晶的措施。

Extension of pilot tests of cyanide elimination by ozone from blast furnace gas washing water through

For improving wastewater quality, one of the dare of steelworks is reducing cyanide in wastewater of gas washing treatment of blast furnaces. Costs of existing treatments, stringent environmental regulations and changeable composition of water from gas treatment, have led to study how available treatments can be modified and to examine new ones. Ozonation is one of cyanide treatments, tested within a European project. A process model was set up with Aspen Plus®, to assess operating conditions and wastewater distinctive characteristics and to demonstrate treatment robustness. Process was modeled by theoretical reactors, taking into account all more affecting reactions. A genetic algorithm was exploited to find kinetic parameters of these reactions. After validation, the model was used to analyse scenarios, by considering also real contexts. Pilot tests were extended, process knowledge was enhanced and suggestions were obtained. To promote cyanide removal with ozone, temperature and pH values were 30°C and 10, respectively. With an ozone (mg/h)/water (L/h) ratio of 100 mg/L, batch mode ensure reaching cyanide regulation limit (0.2 mg/L) after maximum 4.5 h, if initial amount was less than 20 mg/L. Higher removal was obtained than in continuous mode due to constraints related to this last run. Higher wastewater contamination needed further time and more ozone.

Efficient elimination of environmental pollutants through sorption-reduction and photocatalytic degradation

摘要: With the rapid development of industrial, large amounts of different inorganic and organic pollutants are released into the natural environments. The efficient elimination of environmental pollutants, i.e., photocatalytic degradation of persistent organic pollutants into nontoxic organic/inorganic chemicals, solidification or sorption-reduction of heavy metal ions, is crucial to protect the environment. Nanomaterials with large surface area, active sites and abundant functional groups could form strong surface complexes with different kinds of pollutants and thereby could efficiently eliminate the pollutants from the aqueous solutions. In this review, we mainly focused on the recent works about the synthesis of nanomaterials and their applications in the efficient elimination of different organic and inorganic pollutants from wastewater and discussed the interaction mechanism from batch experimental results, the advanced spectroscopy techniques and theoretical calculations. The adsorption and the photocatalytic reduction of organic pollutants and the sorption/reduction of heavy metal ions are generally considered as the main methods to decrease the concentration of pollutants in the natural environment. This review highlights a new way for the real applications of novel nanomaterials in environmental pollution management, especially for the undergraduate students to understand the recent works in the elimination of different kinds of inorganic and organic chemicals in the natural environmental pollution management.

孔庄煤矿集中降温方案的选择与优化

摘要:

从孔庄煤矿井筒布置和矿井生产条件出发,先后总结、分析了片冰降温系统、热-电-乙二醇降温系统、井下低温水排热的井下集中降温系统(HEMS)和真空制冰降温系统。从集中降温方案效果、投资、降温系统运行稳定性、井筒输冷管路安装、矿井制冷水质、井下制冷排热等方面综合考虑,适合孔庄煤矿特点的集中降温途径只能是真空制冰降温方案,为矿井三期改扩建工程按期投产、验收创造了条件。同时,该降温工程的实施必将填补我国在矿井集中降温领域的一项技术空白,并在制冰技术、输冰管道、输冰工艺、压风冷却、井下融冰工艺、制冰节能技术上取得突破

青蒿素——一种从中药中发现的神奇药物 Review

摘要:

青蒿素及其衍生物是治疗疟疾最重要且最具影响力的一类药物。自20世纪70年代初发现青蒿素以来,国际上在研究这种非凡的植物化学药物及探明其独特的化学和药理特性方面取得了巨大进展。现今,虽然青蒿素及其衍生物仍然是抗疟的支柱药物,它们的持续应用和发展也面临许多挑战。这些挑战包括青蒿素治疗疟疾过程中出现的耐药现象以及青蒿素在其它疾病中的应用。在这篇综述中,我们描述了青蒿素类药物的早期发现和发展过程、应用现状以及未来的发展前景。另外,我们总结了当前的青蒿素机制研究情况并提出了我们自己的看法,同时强调了机制研究对于青蒿素类药物在抗疟以及其它疾病治疗中的重要性。

信息化社会背景下,土木工程科学与技术的发展正经历着深刻的变革,为传统建筑业的转型升级提供了千载难逢的历史性机遇。借助材料科学、计算机、人工智能和自动化控制等领域的前沿技术,新一代交通基础设施正朝着智能化方向快速发展,全球主要发达国家均因地制宜地大力推动以该方向为核心的交通基础设施行业革新战略。本文首先简述了交通基础设施智能化的基本定义、科学内涵和发展历程;然后以全生命周期为主线,系统梳理了交通基础设施在设计、施工、运维和消纳4 个阶段中智能化技术的发展现状以及当前所面临的主要挑战;接着以世界首条基于智能化理念建造的铁路——京张高速铁路为例,综合展示了智能化技术的最新成就;文末从标准体系、理论方法和人才培养三个维度对交通基础设施智能化领域的未来发展趋势进行了展望。

一种改进的果蝇优化算法及其在旅行商问题求解中的应用 Article

摘要: 旅行商问题(traveling salesman problem, TSP)是经典的NP(non-deterministic polynomial)难问题,在实际工程中有许多应用。而果蝇优化算法作为一种用于求解TSP问题的新群智能算法,具有易于理解、实现简单等优点。然而,该算法收敛速度慢、易陷入局部最优,从而导致寻优精度不高。为了有效求解TSP问题,本文提出了三种改进方法,以优化果蝇算法在TSP求解中的应用。一是,更加注重果蝇觅食行为中的视觉搜索能力,从而增强果蝇算法的收敛能力;二是,在果蝇优化算法中融入了淘汰机制以增加种群多样性;三是,提出了逆序操作算子和乘法操作算子,并将这两种基本操作算子运用到果蝇算法求解TSP问题上。本文对TSPLIB中的10个算例进行仿真实验,并与其它算法的实验结果进行对比,结果证明该算法不仅收敛速度快,而且寻优精度高。
