Exploring the coupling relationship of industrial agglomeration and low-carbon economy considering spatiotemporal

摘要: Although China’s construction machinery thrives to meet the needs of construction, a number of challenges still remain to be overcome, such as lack of thorough knowledge of regional disparities and several limitations in terms of carbon emissions and economic development. Meanwhile, a low-carbon economy was proposed and implemented in China. This research aims to investigate the differences in industrial agglomeration of construction machineries and further explore the relationship between industrial agglomeration and low-carbon economy. On this basis, spatiotemporal analysis was performed to evaluate the levels of industrial agglomeration in different regions based on the situations of China’s construction machinery industry. Furthermore, this study explored the interaction between industrial agglomeration and low-carbon economy utilizing the coupling coordination analysis method. Results showed that the coupling coordination of the two subsystems was extremely unbalanced in 2006, and it maintained an increasing trend, reaching a relatively high level in 2018. Finally, suggestions, such as establishing a policy guarantee system and implementing variable policies in different regions, were proposed to provide guidelines for the government decision-making and promote the sustainable development of China’s construction machinery industry.

A dynamic simulation analysis of spatiotemporal heterogeneity

摘要: There is notable variability in carbon emission reduction efforts across different provinces in China, underscoring the need for effective strategies to implement carbon emission allowance auctions. These auctions, as opposed to free allocations, could be more aligned with the principle of “polluter pays.” Focusing on three diverse regions — Ningxia, Beijing, and Zhejiang — this study employs a system dynamics simulation model to explore markets for carbon emissions and green certificates trading. The aim is to determine the optimal timing and appropriate policy intensities for auction introduction. Key findings include: (1) Optimal auction strategies differ among the provinces, recommending immediate implementation in Beijing, followed by Ningxia and Zhejiang. (2) In Ningxia, there’s a potential for a 6.20% increase in GDP alongside a 21.59% reduction in carbon emissions, suggesting a feasible harmony between environmental and economic objectives. (3) Market-related policy variables, such as total carbon allowances and Renewable Portfolio Standards, significantly influence the optimal auction strategies but have minimal effect on carbon auction prices.

未来产业颠覆性技术创新的时空现象学研究

摘要:

未来产业是塑造新质生产力的关键方面,其发展高度依赖颠覆性技术创新突破;我国目前的基础研究与科技创新能力不显强健,核心症结在于未能从哲学根源出发把握本质规律。本文基于现象学本质还原与先验还原的分析方法,针对颠覆性技术创新瓶颈内涵的复杂哲学问题进行理论诊断,溯源技术哲学、科学哲学的脉络谱系,厘清现代技术与科学研究之间的辩证关系,将技术创新问题投影至本源时空间范畴。研究发现,传统动力学时空观坚持身心二元的哲学思想,将时空间视为超越任何参考系的绝对抽象概念,忽视身体与实践活动发挥的关键作用。为此,集成现代科学与时空现象学理论,推动“数据表征、知识流动、具身耦联”的时空间重构;响应未来产业战略需求与科学逻辑框架,建立“技性科学、智能科学、具身科学”的未来科学研究范式演进架构;融入系统科学思想方法,构建“工程应用、智能集成、具身协同”的颠覆性技术创新系统。进一步地,基于“哲学 – 科学 – 技术 – 产业”的四元现象结构、“新质 – 新知”工程创新战略,提出增强发展组织能力、建立和健全服务保障机制、提高企业技术创新能力等应对建议。

Analysis and Zonation of Freeze-Thaw Action in the Chinese Plateau Region Considering Spatiotemporal

摘要: Concerns about the durability of transportation infrastructure due to freeze-thaw (F-T) cycles are particularly significant in the Chinese plateau region, where concrete aging and performance deterioration pose substantial challenges. The current national standards for the frost resistance design of concrete structures are based predominantly on the coldest monthly average temperature and do not adequately address the comprehensive effects of the spatiotemporal variance, amplitude, and frequency of F-T cycles. To address this issue, this study introduced a spatiotemporal distribution model to analyze the long-term impact of F-T action on concrete structures by employing statistical analysis and spatial interpolation techniques. Cluster analysis was applied to create a nationwide zonation of F-T action level from data on the freezing temperature, temperature difference, and the number of F-T cycles. Furthermore, this study explored the similarity between natural environmental conditions and laboratory-accelerated tests using hydraulic pressure and cumulative damage theories. A visualization platform that incorporates tools for meteorological data queries, environmental characteristic analyses, and F–T action similarity calculations was designed. This research lays theoretical groundwork and provides technical guidance for assessing service life and enhancing the quantitative durability design of concrete structures in the Chinese plateau region.

一种基于非线性时空效应的个性化下一个兴趣点推荐方法

摘要: 下一个兴趣点(POI)推荐是基于位置的社交网络(LBSN)的一项重要任务,其目标是使用历史签到数据在特定情境下为用户推荐下一个兴趣点。现有研究将用户时空信息线性离散化,然后使用基于循环神经网络(RNN)的方法进行建模。但是这些研究忽略了时空信息对用户偏好的非线性影响以及用户轨迹和候选兴趣点之间的时空相关性。为解决这些问题,本文提出一种时空轨迹(STT)模型。该模型使用具有注意力机制的长短期记忆网络(LSTM)作为基本框架,并将时空信息以编码形式引入模型。在编码信息过程中,使用指数型衰减因子刻画用户兴趣随时间和距离的非线性漂移特性。此外,本文在目标召回过程中设计一个时空匹配模块,该模块通过测量用户历史轨迹与候选集之间的相关性来为用户筛选最有可能的下一个兴趣点。本文使用4个真实数据集评估STT模型性能。实验结果表明,本文所提方法的推荐效果比主流的推荐模型有显著提升。

Wastewater Surveillance Provides Spatiotemporal SARS-CoV-2 Infection Dynamics

摘要: Wastewater surveillance can leverage its wide coverage, population-based sampling, and high monitoring frequency to capture citywide pandemic trends independent of clinical surveillance. Here we conducted a 9-month daily wastewater surveillance for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) from 12 wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs), covering approximately 80% of the population, to monitor infection dynamics in Hong Kong. We found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus concentration in wastewater was correlated with the daily number of reported cases and reached two pandemic peaks three days earlier during the study period. In addition, two different methods were established to estimate the prevalence/incidence rates from wastewater measurements. The estimated results from wastewater were consistent with findings from two independent citywide clinical surveillance programmes (rapid antigen test (RAT) surveillance and serology surveillance), but higher than the cases number reported by the Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of Hong Kong. Moreover, the effective reproductive number (Rt) was estimated from wastewater measurements to reflect both citywide and regional transmission dynamics. Our findings demonstrate that large-scale intensive wastewater surveillance from WWTPs provides cost-effective and timely public health information, especially when the clinical surveillance is inadequate and costly. This approach also provides insights into pandemic dynamics at higher spatiotemporal resolutions, facilitating the formulation of effective control policies and targeted resource allocation.

Spatiotemporal variation and evaluation of agriculture green development: a case study of Hainan Province RESEARCH ARTICLE

摘要:

The realization of green and sustainable development of agriculture is the common pursuit all over the world. Agriculture green development (AGD) program has been proposed as a sustainable development strategy in China, but insufficient is known about the quantitative evaluation of spatiotemporal variation in AGD at the regional scale. This study aimed to assess spatiotemporal patterns in AGD at the county/city-based regional level. For this purpose, a systematic index evaluation system was developed to assess the performance of socioeconomic, food production and environmental components in a key economic region (Hainan Province) of China. Hainan improved its AGD index (representing the overall performance toward achieving AGD) from 38.8 in 1988 to 40.9 in 2019. The socioeconomic development and agricultural productivity have improved with time; environmental quality declined due to overuse of chemicals from 1988 to 2013, but steadily improved after 2013, indicating positive effects of reducing chemical input. There was a higher AGD index in the coastal vs. central regions and the southern vs. northern regions. Scenarios featuring improved nutrient management or optimized diet structure and reduced waste improved economic benefits and social productivity while concurrently reducing environmental degradation. These results provide new insights for the future development of green and sustainable agriculture and formulation of agricultural policies in Hainan Province of China and even other developing countries that are facing or will soon face similar challenges.

Spatiotemporal expression of Ezh2 in the developing mouse cochlear sensory epithelium

The enhancer of zeste 2 polycomb repressive complex 2 subunit (Ezh2) is a histone-lysine N-methyltransferase enzyme that participates in DNA methylation. Ezh2 has also been reported to play crucial roles in stem cell proliferation and differentiation. However, the detailed expression profile of Ezh2 during mouse cochlear development has not been investigated. Here, we examined the spatiotemporal expression of Ezh2 in the cochlea during embryonic and postnatal development. Ezh2 expression began to be observed in the whole otocyst nuclei at embryonic day 9.5 (E9.5). At E12.5, Ezh2 was expressed in the nuclei of the cochlear prosensory epithelium. At E13.5 and E15.5, Ezh2 was expressed from the apical to the basal turns in the nuclei of the differentiating cochlear epithelium. At postnatal day (P) 0 and 7, the Ezh2 expression was located in the nuclei of the cochlear epithelium in all three turns and could be clearly seen in outer and inner hair cells, supporting cells, the stria vascularis, and spiral ganglion cells. Ezh2 continued to be expressed in the cochlear epithelium of adult mice. Our results provide the basic Ezh2 expression pattern and might be useful for further investigating the detailed role of Ezh2 during cochlear development.

Spatiotemporal evolution and driving factors for GHG emissions of aluminum industry in China

摘要: China’s aluminum (Al) production has released a huge amount of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. As one of the biggest country of primary Al production, China must mitigate its overall GHG emission from its Al industry so that the national carbon neutrality target can be achieved. Under such a background, the study described in this paper conducts a dynamic material flow analysis to reveal the spatiotemporal evolution features of Al flows in China from 2000 to 2020. Decomposition analysis is also performed to uncover the driving factors of GHG emission generated from the Al industry. The major findings include the fact that China’s primary Al production center has transferred to the western region; the primary Al smelting and carbon anode consumption are the most carbon-intensive processes in the Al life cycle; the accumulative GHG emission from electricity accounts for 78.14% of the total GHG emission generated from the Al industry; China’s current Al recycling ratio is low although the corresponding GHG emission can be reduced by 93.73% if all the primary Al can be replaced by secondary Al; and the total GHG emission can be reduced by 88.58% if major primary Al manufacturing firms are transferred from Inner Mongolia to Yunnan. Based upon these findings and considering regional disparity, several policy implications are proposed, including promotion of secondary Al production, support of clean electricity penetration, and relocation of the Al industry.

Control of aluminum distribution in ZSM-5 zeolite for enhancement of its catalytic performance for propane

摘要: Regulation of aluminum distribution in zeolite framework is an effective method for improving its catalytic performance for propane aromatization. Herein, we found that recrystallization and post-realuminization of ZSM-5 cannot only create hollow structures to enhance the diffusion ability, but also adjust the content and position of paired aluminum species in its framework. Various characterizations results confirmed that increase of paired aluminum content and inducement of more aluminum atoms sited in the intersection cavity are beneficial to the formation of aromatic products in propane aromatization. As a result, the hollow-structured ZSM-5 zeolite with more paired aluminum (H-200-hollow) showed higher propane conversion and aromatics selectivity than other samples at the same conditions. The catalytic performance of H-200-hollow can be further improved by ion-exchanging with a small amount of Ga(III) species. The propane conversion and aromatics selectivity of Ga-200-hollow reached as high as 95% and 70%, respectively, at 540 °C and 1 atm.

Spatiotemporal dynamics of city-level WEEE generation from different sources in China

摘要: China stands as one of the leading producers of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), facing significant challenges in managing the substantial volumes generated. Despite existing regulations, the informal treatment of WEEE persists in some areas due to inadequate recycling networks at the city level. Consequently, there is a critical need for a detailed geographical mapping of WEEE generation to address improper disposal practices effectively. This study introduces the cMAC – EEEs (city Material Cycles and Manufactured Capital – EEEs) database, providing estimates of WEEE generation across approximately 300 prefecture-level cities from 1978 to 2017. It focuses on five commonly used types of electrical and electronic equipment (refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, computers, TVs) originating from three key sources (urban residents, rural residents, enterprises). The findings reveal (1) significant spatial variation in WEEE generation within China, with eastern and central city clusters identified as hotspots, particularly for urban residents and enterprises, while the western region exhibits the highest growth rate in WEEE generation, notably among rural residents. (2) The growth in obsolete computers and air conditioners is prominent, especially in rural areas and among enterprises, whereas the generation of obsolete TVs, washing machines, and refrigerators is leveling off and expected to decrease in some urban areas. (3) Enterprises account for a substantial portion of WEEE generation, though uncertainties exist, necessitating further refinement. The study highlights that less developed regions lack adequate recycling facilities, with specific limitations in refrigerators and air conditioners recycling capabilities. To enhance WEEE management, it advocates for increased interregional collaboration and capacity building in less developed areas. Additionally, the regulation of WEEE from private enterprises requires improvement. At the product level, a greater focus on recycling practices for refrigerators and air conditioners is recommended.
