Characteristics of force acting on adjustable axial flow pump blade

摘要: The internal three-dimensional turbulent flow of adjustable axial-flow pump arrangement was simulated, and the force acting on the blade surface was calculated under different operating conditions. Based on the calculated results, finite element method (FEM) was adopted to analyze stress and strain distributions of the adjustment blade in different operations. Hydraulic moment, centrifugal moment and friction moment which must be conquered by adjusting the blades were also calculated.

Numerical analysis of aerodynamic noise radiated from cross flow fan

摘要: The flow field in a cross flow fan was simulated by solving the 2-D unsteady Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations. The calculated pressure fluctuations of the blades, the vortex wall, and the rear wall were then used as noise sources to calculate the sound field. The Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FW-H) equation was employed to predict the noise field caused by these sources. The predictions show that the rear wall and the vortex wall sources contribute significantly to the total noise and that both the predicted aerodynamic performance and noise agree well with the experimental results.

Kinetics of pozzolanic reaction for preparation of flue gas desulfurizer from fly ash and Ca(OH)2

摘要: A kinetic model of the pozzolanic reaction for the preparation of flue gas desulfurizers from fly ash and Ca(OH) was deduced on the basis of solid phase reaction kinetic theory. Kinetic expressions and parameters were obtained and verified by experiment. A comparison of calculated results with experimental results showed that precision in kinetic expressions was good. The apparent reaction rate constants of the pozzolanic reaction could be raised by increasing the specific surface area of fly ash and the hydration temperature, and by using a suitable additive.

Modeling and simulation of biomass air-steam gasification in a fluidized bed

摘要: By considering the features of fluidized-bed reactors and the kinetic mechanism of biomass gasification, a steady-state, isothermal, one-dimensional and two-phase mathematical model of biomass gasification kinetics in bubbling fluidized beds was developed. The model assumes the existence of two phases – a bubble and an emulsion phase – with chemical reactions occurring in both phases. The axial gas dispersion in the two phases is accounted for and the pyrolysis of biomass is taken to be instantaneous. The char and gas species CO, CO, H, HO, CH and 8 chemical reactions are included in the model. The mathematical model belongs to a typical boundary value problem of ordinary differential equations and its solution is obtained by a Matlab program. Utilizing wood powder as the feedstock, the calculated data show satisfactory agreement with experimental results and proves the effectiveness and reliability of the model.

Calculated journal bearing lubrication of non-Newtonian medium with surface roughness effects

摘要: To analyze the effects of non-Newtonian lubricants and surface roughness in journal bearing lubrication, a modified Reynolds equation is derived. In the equation, differential viscosity and the first normal stress function are defined to specify the rheological properties of non- Newtonian medium. Flow factors are used to specify the effect of surface roughness. The modified Reynolds equation is numerically calculated using super over relaxation method. Numerical results of the lubrication show that the differential viscosity is the principal non-Newtonian property affecting the lubrication, it is determined by the material parameters of the lubricant and is affected by the shearing rate. Under its effect, the load capacity of non-Newtonian lubricants is not always higher or lower than that of Newtonian lubricants . The effect of the first normal stress difference increases under the conditions of dynamic loading. Surface roughness shows an obvious effect on load capacity when it is greater than one-tenth of the film thickness, and the surface with longitudinal pattern affects the load capacity most. However, surface roughness has less effect on lubrication results than lubricants non-Newtonian property.
