摘要: With an analysis of current development of China’s coal industry, this paper, in the perspectives of concept innovation, technological innovation and management innovation, introduces the exploration and engineering practice by Shenhua Group in coordination with coal and the environment, co-development of coal and the associated resources as well as clean and efficient utilization of coal. Based on systems engineering of Shenhua’s coal-based integrated energy projects, the paper also presents practice and experience in technological and management innovation.

Life cycle assessment and economic analysis of HFC-134a production from natural gas compared with oil-basedand coal-based production

摘要: China is the largest producer and consumer of HFC-134a (1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane) in the world. Coal-based route is mainly adopted to produce HFC-134a, which suffers from large waste and CO2 emissions. Natural gas is a low-carbon and clean energy resource, and no research has been found on the environment and economy of producing HFC-134a from natural gas. In this study, CML 2001 method was used to carry out the life cycle assessment of natural gas (partial oxidation)-based and natural gas (plasma cracking)-based routes (abbreviated as gas(O)-based and gas(P)-based routes, respectively), and their environmental performances were compared with coal-based and oil-based routes. Meanwhile, considering that China is vigorously promoting the transformation of energy structure, and the application of electric heating equipment to replace fossil-based heating equipment in industrial field, which has a great impact on the environmental performance of the production processes, the authors conducted a scenario analysis. The results showed that the gas(O)-based route had the most favourable environmental benefits. However, the gas(P)-based route had the highest potential for reducing environmental burdens, and its environmental benefit was the most favourable in scenario 2050. Additionally, the economic performance of the gas(P)-based route was significantly better than that of gas(O)-based and coal-based routes.

Synergetic Management Theory for Coal-Based Energy Engineering and the Engineering Practice of Shenhua

摘要: To deal with problems in synergetic development of coal-based energy engineering, this paper, guided by the philosophy of engineering, proposes the synergetic management philosophy of “factors coordination, systems synergy, dynamic optimization and three-dimension planning.” The paper also establishes the synergetic management system characterized by systems factor synergy, resource-environment synergy and systems boundary extension and supported by the “two-wheel driven” management innovation and technological innovation. In addition, the paper presents a multi-objective dynamic optimization model for energy engineering, designed based on Shenhua’s own engineering practice, to analyze Pareto optimal solution in three scenarios: best resource allocation, minimal environmental impact and maximal value creation. This provides important reference to synergetic development strategies and decision-making in engineering management.

Optimization and simultaneous heat integration design of a coal-based ethylene glycol refining process

摘要: Coal to ethylene glycol still lacks algorithm optimization achievements for distillation sequencing due to high-dimension and strong nonconvexity characteristics, although there are numerous reports on horizontal comparisons and process revamping. This scenario triggers the navigation in this paper into the simultaneous optimization of parameters and heat integration of the coal to ethylene glycol distillation scheme and double-effect superstructure by the self-adapting dynamic differential evolution algorithm. To mitigate the influence of the strong nonconvexity, a redistribution strategy is adopted that forcibly expands the population search domain by exerting external influence and then shrinks it again to judge the global optimal solution. After two redistributive operations under the parallel framework, the total annual cost and CO2 emissions are 0.61%/1.85% better for the optimized process and 3.74%/14.84% better for the superstructure than the sequential optimization. However, the thermodynamic efficiency of sequential optimization is 11.63% and 10.34% higher than that of simultaneous optimization. This study discloses the unexpected great energy-saving potential for the coal to ethylene glycol process that has long been unknown, as well as the strong ability of the self-adapting dynamic differential evolution algorithm to optimize processes described by the high-dimensional mathematical model.

我国煤基多联产系统的发展潜力及技术路线研究

摘要:

煤基多联产技术是先进清洁的煤炭利用技术,是综合解决我国能源系统主要问题的关键技术。针对我国多联产系统概念不清的现状,本文根据我国国情总结提炼出了多联产系统的定义及分类方法。同时,随着我国能源需求的不断增加,我国液态燃料供应紧张的问题日渐凸显,煤基液态燃料的发展势在必行,本文通过建立能源安全损益模型,得出了我国煤基替代燃料发展的最优规模。在此基础上,对我国多联产系统的发展潜力进行分析,提出了到2030年前我国煤基多联产系统的发展战略和技术路线。

Synergistic utilization of coal and other energy – Key to low carbon economy

摘要: In China, coal is a dominant component of energy mix, and it is expected to remain as such over the next 30 to 40 years. Coal is expected to be used even more in power generation. The direct combustion of coal already has been causing severe pollution and ecological degradation, and it is quite difficult to address the need to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) given the direct combustion of coal. Therefore, the polygeneration system based on coal gasification, which is one of the major examples of synergistic utilization of coal, is proposed. It is a comprehensive solution to meet the energy challenges China is facing. Furthermore, the synergy of fossil fuels (especially coal) with renewable energy, the synergy of different kinds of energy for energy storage, the synergy of centralized and distributed supply of different kinds of energy, and the synergy of different kinds of energy in smart energy grid (power, gas, heat, and water) are the keys to making China a low-carbon economy. Carbon dioxide (CO ) mitigation in China should begin from the coal-chemical industry given their accumulated relevant experiences. The mitigation process should gradually be transformed into the “IGCC+ polygeneration+ CCUS”. The objectives of this paper are to describe the synergistic utilization of coal, and to analyze the synergy of coal with other energy resources, and to propose the scientific and technological problems to achieve these synergies.

摘要: The urgency and necessity of alternative fuels give an impetus to the development of modern coal chemical industry. Coal-based methanol/DME is the key element of this industry. Wind power, whose installed capacity increased at a rate of more than 100% in recent years, has the most developed technologies in renewable energy. However, there still exist many unsolved problems in wind power for on-grid utilization. A new integrated system which combines coal-based methanol/DME production with wind power is proposed in this paper. In this system, wind power is used to electrolyze water to produce H and O. The O is fed to the gasifier as gasification agent. The H is mixed with the CO-rich gas to adjust the H/CO to an appropriate ratio for methanol synthesis. In comparison with conventional coal-based methanol/DME system, the proposed system omits the expensive and energy-consuming ASU and greatly reduces the water gas shift process, which brings both advantages in the utilization of all raw materials and significant mitigation of CO emission. This system will be attractive in the regions of China which have abundant wind and coal resources.

我国煤炭清洁高效转化发展研究

摘要:

能源是国民经济的命脉,而当前我国能源发展形势严峻,原油、天然气的对外依存度较高;立足以煤为主的基本国情,加强煤炭清洁高效利用是国家战略要求也是现实的必然选择,其中推进煤炭清洁高效转化是重要路径之一。本文梳理了煤炭清洁高效转化发展的基本现状,提炼了高端化、多元化、低碳化、智慧化等产业发展趋势以及煤转化制清洁燃料、煤制大宗及特殊化学品、煤转化过程污染物控制等技术发展趋势。在分析水资源、碳排放、产品竞争力、扶持政策等发展挑战的基础上,提出了规划引领、示范引领、创新引领的发展思路。研究建议,明确煤炭清洁高效转化在能源体系中的战略地位,建立国家煤制油气战略储备机制,加强金融信贷、能源统计政策支持,以研发平台建设提升行业科技创新能力。

西部地区富油煤开发利用潜力分析和技术体系构想

摘要:

西部地区富油煤资源量丰富,具备产业规模化发展的资源基础;科学认识富油煤的油气资源属性,推动以油气为主要产品的富油煤开发与转化,是增加国内油气供给、缓解油气对外依存度、保障国家能源安全的战略方向。本文依据现阶段煤炭资源的勘查成果,估算了西部地区富油煤资源潜力;系统梳理了西部地区富油煤开发利用的现状和存在问题;针对碳达峰、碳中和战略目标,智能绿色开发,弥补油气不足等新要求,论证提出了西部地区富油煤开发利用的基本理念与技术构想。研究认为,富油煤的开发利用,需要着重突破高精度综合勘查、高回采率开采、井下原位热解、热解气化一体化、原位热解半焦CO2封存等关键技术。研究建议,将富油煤纳入非常规油气资源管理,加大富油煤开发利用科技攻关,设立富油煤开发利用国家级示范区,推动西部地区新能源和富油煤协同开发,由此发挥富油煤作为煤基油气资源的特殊优势、实现煤炭资源低碳高值利用。

A review on research and development of iron-based sorbents for removal of hydrogen sulfide from hotcoal gases

摘要: In poly-generation and integrated gasification-combined cycle (IGCC) systems for clean energy conversion, it is essential to remove impurities such as sulfur species from hot coal gases prior to entering the subsequent units. This paper provides a comprehensive review on previous studies on high temperature removal of hydrogen sulfide from high temperature coal gases using iron-based sorbents. A two-step desulphurization process for hot coal gas cleanup is highlighted, which is integrated with direct production of elemental sulfur during regeneration of iron-based sorbents in the primary desulphurization step. Different kinetic modeling approaches for sulfidation and regeneration were compared. Limited research on activated carbon supported sorbents was also briefly summarized.

Desulfurization performance of iron-manganese-based sorbent for hot coal gas

摘要: A series of iron-manganese-based sorbents were prepared by co-precipitation and physical mixing method, and used for H S removal from hot coal gas. The sulfidation tests were carried out in a fixed-bed reactor with space velocity of 2000 h (STP). The results show that the suitable addition of manganese oxide in iron-based sorbent can decrease H S and COS concentration in exit before breakthrough due to its simultaneous reaction capability with H S and COS. Fe O and MnO are the initial active components in iron-manganese-based sorbent, and FeO and Fe are active components formed by reduction during sulfidation. The crystal phases of iron affect obviously their desulfurization capacity. The reducibility of sorbent changes with the content of MnO in sorbent. S7F3M and S3F7M have bigger sulfur capacities (32.68 and 32.30 gS/100 g total active component), while S5F5M has smaller sulfur capacity (21.92 gS/100 g total active component). S7F3M sorbent has stable sulfidation performance in three sulfidation-regeneration cycles and no apparent structure degradation. The sulfidation performance of iron- manganese-based sorbent is also related with its specific surface area and pore volume.

Experimental studies of ash film fractions based on measurement of cenospheres geometry in pulverizedcoal combustion

摘要: In pulverized coal particle combustion, part of the ash forms the ash film and exerts an inhibitory influence on combustion by impeding the diffusion of oxygen to the encapsulated char core, while part of the ash diffuses toward the char core. Despite the considerable ash effects on combustion, the fraction of ash film still remains unclear. However, the research of the properties of cenospheres can be an appropriate choice for the fraction determination, being aware that the formation of cenospheres is based on the model of coal particles with the visco-plastic ash film and a solid core. The fraction of ash film is the ratio of the measuring mass of ash film and the total ash in coal particle. In this paper, the Huangling bituminous coal with different sizes was burnt in a drop-tube furnace at 1273, 1473, and 1673 K with air as oxidizer. A scanning electron microscope (SEM) and cross-section analysis have been used to study the geometry of the collected cenospheres and the effects of combustion parameters on the fraction of ash film. The results show that the ash film fraction increases with increasing temperature and carbon conversion ratio but decreases with larger sizes of coal particles. The high fraction of ash film provides a reasonable explanation for the extinction event at the late burnout stage. The varied values of ash film fractions under different conditions during the dynamic combustion process are necessary for further development of kinetic models.

摘要: Reducing the enormous maintenance cost is essential to enhance the competitiveness for power plants. An overall design scheme for condition-based maintenance of induced fans is proposed for large thermal power plants. The interface of the above framework is simple and convenient; the optimum maintenance strategy is given by condition monitoring and risk evaluating. The decision-supported system was used in Guangdong Shajiao C Power Plant. The results show that it is a feasible maintenance optimization scheme for power plants.
