A novel method to investigate voltage stability of IEEE-14 bus wind integrated system using PSAT

摘要： The maximum demand of power utilization is increasing exponentially from base load to peak load in day to day life. This power demand may be either industrial usage or household applications. To meet this high maximum power demand by the consumer, one of the options is the integration of renewable energy resources with conventional power generation methods. In the present scenario, wind energy system is one of the methods to generate power in connection with the conventional power systems. When the load on the conventional grid system increases, various bus voltages of the system tend to decrease, causing serious voltage drop or voltage instability within the system. In view of this, identification of weak buses within the system has become necessary. This paper presents the line indices method to identify these weak buses, so that some corrective action may be taken to compensate for this drop in voltage. An attempt has been made to compensate these drops in voltages by integration of renewable energy systems. The wind energy system at one of the bus in the test system is integrated and the performance of the system is verified by calculating the power flow (PF) using the power system analysis tool box (PSAT) and line indices of the integrated test system. The PF and load flow results are used to calculate line indices for the IEEE-14 bus test system which is simulated on PSAT.

Thermo-economic analysis of a direct supercritical CO electric power generation system using geothermal

摘要： A comprehensive thermo-economic model combining a geothermal heat mining system and a direct supercritical CO₂ turbine expansion electric power generation system was proposed in this paper. Assisted by this integrated model, thermo-economic and optimization analyses for the key design parameters of the whole system including the geothermal well pattern and operational conditions were performed to obtain a minimal levelized cost of electricity (LCOE). Specifically, in geothermal heat extraction simulation, an integrated wellbore-reservoir system model (T2Well/ECO2N) was used to generate a database for creating a fast, predictive, and compatible geothermal heat mining model by employing a response surface methodology. A parametric study was conducted to demonstrate the impact of turbine discharge pressure, injection and production well distance, CO₂ injection flowrate, CO₂ injection temperature, and monitored production well bottom pressure on LCOE, system thermal efficiency, and capital cost. It was found that for a 100 MW_e power plant, a minimal LCOE of $0.177/kWh was achieved for a 20-year steady operation without considering CO₂ sequestration credit. In addition, when CO₂ sequestration credit is $1.00/t, an LCOE breakeven point compared to a conventional geothermal power plant is achieved and a breakpoint for generating electric power generation at no cost was achieved for a sequestration credit of $2.05/t.

Optimization of cold-end system of thermal power plants based on entropy generation minimization

摘要： Cold-end systems are heat sinks of thermal power cycles, which have an essential effect on the overall performance of thermal power plants. To enhance the efficiency of thermal power plants, multi-pressure condensers have been applied in some large-capacity thermal power plants. However, little attention has been paid to the optimization of the cold-end system with multi-pressure condensers which have multiple parameters to be identified. Therefore, the design optimization methods of cold-end systems with single- and multi-pressure condensers are developed based on the entropy generation rate, and the genetic algorithm (GA) is used to optimize multiple parameters. Multiple parameters, including heat transfer area of multi-pressure condensers, steam distribution in condensers, and cooling water mass flow rate, are optimized while considering detailed entropy generation rate of the cold-end systems. The results show that the entropy generation rate of the multi-pressure cold-end system is less than that of the single-pressure cold-end system when the total condenser area is constant. Moreover, the economic performance can be improved with the adoption of the multi-pressure cold-end system. When compared with the single-pressure cold-end system, the excess revenues gained by using dual- and quadruple-pressure cold-end systems are 575 and 580 k$/a, respectively.

Economic analysis of a hybrid solar-fuel cell power delivery system using tuned genetic algorithm

摘要： An economic evaluation of a network of distributed energy resources (DERs) comprising a microgrid structure of power delivery system in an Indian scenario has been made. The mathematical analysis is based on the application of tuned genetic algorithm (TGA). The analyses for optimal power operation pertaining to minimum cost have been made for two cases in Indian power delivery system. The first case deals with the consumers’ individual optimal operation of DERs, while in the second one, consumers altogether form a microgrid with the optimal supply of power from DERs. The total annual costs for these two cases are found to be economically competitive and encouraging. A reduction of approximately 5.7% in the annual cost has been obtained in the case of microgid system than that in the separately operating consumers’ system for a small locality of India. It is observed that the application of TGA results in a reduction of the minimum cost depicting an improved outcome in terms of energy economy.

Sensitivity analysis of a methanol and power polygeneration system fueled with coke oven gas and coal

摘要： The sensitivity analysis of a polygeneration energy system fueled with duo fuel of coke oven gas and coal gas is performed in the study, and the focus is put on the relations among syngas composition, conversation rate and performance. The impacts of the system configuration together with the fuel composition on the performance are investigated and discussed from the point of cascading utilization of fuel chemical energy. First, the main parameters affecting the performance are derived along with the analysis of the system configuration and the syngas composition. After the performance is being simulated by means of the Aspen Plus process simulator of version 11.1, the variation of the performance due to the composition of syngas and the conversion rate of chemical subsystem is obtained and discussed. It is obtained from the result that the proper conversion rate of the chemical subsystem according to the specific syngas composition results in better performance. And the syngas composition affects the optimal conversion rate of the chemical subsystem, the optimal point of which is around the stoichiometric composition for methanol production (CO/H = 0.5). In all, the polygeneration system fueled with coke oven gas and coal gas, which can realize the reasonable conversion of syngas to power and chemical product according to the syngas composition, is a promising method for coal energy conversion and utilization.

Design of a shaking table test box for a subway station structure in soft soil

摘要： A reasonable choice of structure of a model box is significant for a shaking table test to be successful in geotechnical engineering. A model box has been designed for the shaking table test of a subway station structure in the soft soil of Shanghai in the paper. The reasonable geometric similarity scale of the subway station structure has been determined by a 3-D dynamic analysis under the action of lateral equivalent static loading. The shape, size and structure of the model box are chosen by considering all the involved factors comprehensively. The shape of the box is similar to that of a typical station structure, and the ratio between the plane dimension of the model ground and that of the model structure is big enough to reduce the influence of boundary condition effectively. The structure is strong enough to avoid being demolished by shaking during a test. The contact conditions between the model soil and box are clear to help the data gained from the test well fit that from numerical analysis. The total weight of the model soil and box is less than the bearing capacity of the shaking table apparatus and there is no resonance between the model soil and box. The results show that the model box can be used to simulate the dynamic response of a subway station structure very well, so it provides a firm foundation for the success of the shaking table test of a subway station structure.

面向机床的可重构监测诊断系统开发与应用

摘要：

提出了一种基于“系统引擎+功能组件”的监测诊断系统平台架构，并针对机床4大功能部件模块，设计了3类（振动、功率和声发射）嵌入式监测单元，以强化底层监测信息获取的实时性和灵活性。笔者还开发了一系列机床常规监测诊断组件，并针对具有特殊监测诊断需求的数控机床功能部件，开发了相应的特殊功能组件，通过对功能组件的封装和加载实现具有特定需求的机床监测诊断系统，并在秦川磨床厂和大连机床厂进行实际应用。

Mechanics analysis of thin-walled box continuous girder with variable cross-sections in considering effect

摘要： In order to study the mechanics behavior of a thin-walled box continuous girder with variable cross-sections, using potential variation theories, considering the effect of shear lag of flange’s stress and the nonlinear geometry of vertical displacement, and evolving five generalized displacements with the spline function, the large deflection problem of the thin-walled box continuous girder with variable cross-section was transformed to a nonlinear algebraic equation, which was solved using the Newton-Raphon iterative method. The results of the calculation show that different shear lag warp functions to the cantilever, top and bottom plate should be taken to analyze the mechanics behavior of the thin-walled box continuous girder reliably. The thin-walled box continuous girder with variable cross-sections has more reasonable stress state and is more adaptable for the longitudinal change of internal forces than that with equal cross-sections. The effect of large deflection on the stress and displacement of the thin-walled box continuous girder with variable cross-sections depends on the values of the load.

Thermodynamic and economic analyses of a coal and biomass indirect coupling power generation system

摘要： The coal and biomass coupling power generation technology is considered as a promising technology for energy conservation and emission reduction. In this paper, a novel coal and biomass indirect coupling system is proposed based on the technology of biomass gasification and co-combustion of coal and gasification gas. For the sake of comparison, a coal and biomass direct coupling system is also introduced based on the technology of co-combustion of coal and biomass. The process of the direct and the indirect coupling system is simulated. The thermodynamic and economic performances of two systems are analyzed and compared. The simulation indicates that the thermodynamic performance of the indirect coupling system is slightly worse, but the economic performance is better than that of the direct coupling system. When the blending ratio of biomass is 20%, the energy and exergy efficiencies of the indirect coupling system are 42.70% and 41.14%, the internal rate of return (IRR) and discounted payback period (DPP) of the system are 25.68% and 8.56 years. The price fluctuation of fuels and products has a great influence on the economic performance of the indirect coupling system. The environmental impact analysis indicates that the indirect coupling system can inhibit the propagation of NO and reduce the environmental cost.

NC flame pipe cutting machine tool based on open architecture CNC system

摘要： Based on the analysis of the principle and flame movement of a pipe cutting machine tool, a retrofit NC flame pipe cutting machine tool (NFPCM) that can meet the demands of cutting various pipes is proposed. The paper deals with the design and implementation of an open architecture CNC system for the NFPCM, many of whose aspects are similar to milling machines; however, different from their machining processes and control strategies. The paper emphasizes on the NC system structure and the method for directly creating the NC file according to the cutting type and parameters. Further, the paper develops the program and sets up the open and module NC system.

Analysis of resonant coupling coil configurations of EV wireless charging system: a simulation study

摘要： Nowadays, internal combustion engine vehicles are considered as one of the major contributors to air pollution. To make transportation more environmentally friendly, plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) have been proposed. However, with an increase in the number of PEVs, the drawbacks associated with the cost and size, as well as charging cables of batteries have arisen. To address these challenges, a novel technology named wireless charging system has been recently recommended. This technology rapidly evolves and becomes very attractive for charging operations of electric vehicles. Currently, wireless charging systems offer highly efficient power transfer over the distances ranging from several millimeters to several hundred millimeters. This paper is focused on analyzing electromagnetically coupled resonant wireless technique used for the charging of EVs. The resonant wireless charging system for EVs is modeled, simulated, and then examined by changing different key parameters to evaluate how transfer distance, load, and coil’s geometry, precisely number of coil’s turns, coil’s shape, and inter-turn distance, influence the efficiency of the charging process. The simulation results are analyzed and critical dimensions are discussed. It is revealed that a proper choice of the dimensions, inter-turn distance, and transfer distance of the coil can result in a significant improvement in charging efficiency. Furthermore, the influence of the transfer distance, frequency, load, as well as the number of the turns of the coil on the performance of wireless charging system is the main focus of this paper.

Cyber–Physical Power System (CPPS): A review on measures and optimization methods of system resilience

摘要： The Cyber–Physical Power System (CPPS) is one of the most critical infrastructure systems in a country because a stable and secure power supply is a key foundation for national and social development. In recent years, resilience has become a major topic in preventing and mitigating the risks caused by large-scale blackouts of CPPSs. Accordingly, the concept and significance of CPPS resilience are at first explained from the engineering perspective in this study. Then, a review of representative quantitative assessment measures of CPPS resilience applied in the existing literature is provided. On the basis of these assessment measures, the optimization methods of CPPS resilience are reviewed from three perspectives, which are mainly focused on the current research, namely, optimizing the recovery sequence of components, identifying and protecting critical nodes, and enhancing the coupling patterns between physical and cyber networks. The recent advances in modeling methods for cascading failures within the CPPS, which is the theoretical foundation for the resilience assessment and optimization research of CPPSs, are also presented. Lastly, the challenges and future research directions for resilience optimizing of CPPSs are discussed.

A comprehensive review of wind power based power system frequency regulation

摘要： Wind power (WP) is considered as one of the main renewable energy sources (RESs) for future low-carbon and high-cost-efficient power system. However, its low inertia characteristic may threaten the system frequency stability of the power system with a high penetration of WP generation. Thus, the capability of WP participating in the system frequency regulation has become a research hotspot. In this paper, the impact of WP on power system frequency stability is initially presented. In addition, various existing control strategies of WP participating in frequency regulation are reviewed from the wind turbine (WT) level to the wind farm (WF) level, and their performances are compared in terms of operating principles and practical applications. The pros and cons of each control strategy are also discussed. Moreover, the WP combing with energy storage system (ESS) for system frequency regulation is explored. Furthermore, the prospects, future challenges, and solutions of WP participating in power system frequency regulation are summarized.
