Reactive adsorption desulfurization over a Ni/ZnO adsorbent prepared by homogeneous precipitation

摘要： A high-performance Ni/ZnO adsorbent was prepared by homogeneous precipitation using urea hydrolysis and characterized by N adsorption-desorption, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The adsorbent was applied to the deep desulfurization of gasoline and showed a high breakthrough sulfur capacity and a remarkably high volume hourly space velocity. The effects of coexisting olefins in gasoline as well as adsorptive conditions on the adsorptive performance were examined. It was found that olefins in gasoline had a slightly inhibiting effect on the desulfurization performance of the adsorbent. The optimum conditions were 673 K, 1.0 Mpa with a volume hourly space velocity of 60 h . Under the optimum conditions, ultralow sulfur gasoline could be produced and the breakthrough sulfur capacity of the adsorbent was 360 mg-s/g-sorb for the model gasoline.

改性亚麻屑纤维素对活性翠蓝染料的吸附性能研究

摘要：

采用环氧氯丙烷和三乙胺对分离出来的亚麻屑纤维素进行改性，制备了一种新型吸附剂。采用扫描电子显微镜和傅里叶变换红外光谱仪分别观察了所制备的吸附剂的表面形貌并分析了主要官能团，研究了其对活性翠蓝染料的吸附性能，探讨了吸附时间、吸附剂用量、染料初始浓度及pH等对吸附的影响。结果表明，随时间延长吸附容量逐渐增加，180 min 后吸附即可达到平衡，升高温度有利于吸附反应的进行，40 ℃时最大吸附容量为198.45 mg/g；染料初始浓度较高时，吸附容量较大，吸附受pH的影响较为明显。

Removing carbonyl sulfide with metal-modified activated carbon

摘要： A Cu-Co-K/activated carbon (AC) adsorbent has been developed for the removal of carbonyl sulfide (COS). The effects of COS concentration, reaction temperature and relative humidity were closely examined. A breakthrough of 33.23 mg COS·g adsorbent at 60°C, under 30% relative humidity and in presence of 1.0% oxygen was exhibited in the Cu-Co-K/AC adsorbent prepared. Competitive adsorption studies for COS in the presence of CS , and H S were also conducted. TPD analysis was used to identify sulfur-containing products on the carbon surface, and the results indicated that H S, COS and SO were all evident in the effluent gas generated from the exhausted Cu-Co-K/AC. Structure of the activated carbon samples has been characterized using nitrogen adsorption, and their surface chemical structures were also determined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). It turns out that the modification with Cu(OH) CO -CoPcS-KOH can significantly improve the COS removal capacity, forming species simultaneously. Regeneration of the spent activated carbon sorbents by thermal desorption has also been explored.

Design and optimization of reactive distillation: a review

摘要： Reactive distillation process, a representative process intensification technology, has been widely applied in the chemical industry. However, due to the strong interaction between reaction and separation, the extension of reactive distillation technology is restricted by the difficulties in process analysis and design. To overcome this problem, the design and optimization of reactive distillation have been widely studied and illustrated for plenty of reactive mixtures over the past three decades. These design and optimization methods of the reactive distillation process are classified into three categories: graphical, optimization-based, and evolutionary/heuristic methods. The primary objective of this article is to provide an up-to-date review of the existing design and optimization methods. Desired and output information, advantages and limitations of each method are stated, the modification and development for original methodologies are also reviewed. Perspectives on future research on the design and optimization of reactive distillation method are proposed for further research.

Activity and characteristics of “Oxygen-enriched” highly reactive absorbent for simultaneous flue gas

摘要： An “Oxygen-enriched” highly reactive absorbent was prepared by mixing fly ash, lime and a small quantity of KMnO for simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification. Removal of SO and NO simultaneously was carried out using this absorbent in a flue gas circulating fluidized bed (CFB). The highest simultaneous removal efficiency, 94.5% of SO and 64.2% of NO, was achieved under the optimal experiment conditions. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) and Accessory X-ray Energy Spectrometer (EDX) were used to observe the surface characteristics of fly ash, lime, “Oxygen-enriched” highly reactive absorbent and the spent absorbent. An ion chromatograph (IC) and chemical analysis methods were used to determine the contents of sulfate, sulfite, nitrate and nitrite in the spent absorbents, the results showed that sulfate and nitrite were the main products for desulfurization and denitrification respectively. The mechanism of removing SO and NO simultaneously was proposed based on the analysis results of SEM, EDX, IC and the chemical analysis methods.

Tuned reactive power dispatch through modified differential evolution technique

摘要： This paper explores the capability of modified differential evolution (MDE) technique for solving the reactive power dispatch (RPD) problem. The proposed method is based on the basic differential evolution (DE) technique with a few modifications made into it. DE is one of the strongest optimization techniques though it suffers from the problem of slow convergence while global minima appear. The proposed modifications are tried to resolve the problem. The RPD problem mainly defines loss minimization with stable voltage profile. To solve the RPD problem, the generator bus voltage, transformer tap setting and shunt capacitor placements are controlled by the MDE approach. In this paper, IEEE 14-bus and IEEE 30-bus systems are chosen for MDE implementation. The applied modification show much improved result in comparison to normal DE technique. Comparative study with other soft-computing technique including DE validates the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Elevated C-reactive protein levels predict worsening prognosis in Chinese patients with first-onset stroke

摘要： The role of high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) in predicting prognosis after stroke in the Asian population has not been investigated. We hypothesized that elevated levels of hsCRP were associated with worsening prognosis after stroke in Chinese patients. Two hundred and ninety consecutive patients with first-onset stroke and 290 age- and gender-matched control subjects without any cerebrovascular disease were enrolled for study. Plasma hsCRP level was detected and subsequent vascular events and death were recorded in both groups over a 5-year period. Compared to control group, patients presenting with stroke had higher plasma hsCRP level (3.3 ± 3.8 1.3 ± 2.2 mg/L, < 0.01). Furthermore, in the group of patients with stroke, the mean plasma hsCRP level was higher in patients who developed subsequent vascular diseases or died as compared with the patients without further complications (4.4 ± 4.3 2.7 ± 3.3 mg/L, < 0.01). Compared to the lowest tertile of hsCRP level, the relative risk for vascular events or death in stroke patients was 2.91 in the highest tertile of hsCRP (95% CI, 1.54–5.50, = 0.001). This increase in relative risk for vascular events or death in stroke patients continued after adjustment for age, sex and other cardiovascular risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes ( : 2.771, 95% CI: 1.367–5.617, = 0.005). These findings indicate that increased hsCRP level is associated with worsening prognosis after stroke in Chinese patients and suggests that inflammation is correlated with stroke outcome.

Magnetohydrodynamic slip flow and diffusion of a reactive solute past a permeable flat plate with suction

摘要： The magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) boundary layer slip flow and solute transfer over a porous plate in the presence of a chemical reaction are investigated. The governing equations were transformed into self-similar ordinary differential equations by adopting the similarity transformation technique. Then the numerical solutions are obtained by a shooting technique using the fourth order Runge-Kutta method. The study reveals that due to the increase in the boundary slip, the concentration decreases and the velocity increases. On the other hand, with an increase in the magnetic field and mass suction, both boundary layer thicknesses decreased. As the Schmidt number and the reaction rate parameter increases, the concentration decreases and the mass transfer increases.

Experimental study on shear behavior of prestressed reactive powder concrete I-girders

摘要： As a new generation of concrete, RPC(Reactive Powder Concrete) has attracted great research attention for its ultra-high strength and high durability. In the present paper, experimental results from tests on eight prestressed RPC I-section girders failing in shear are reported herein. The beams with RPC of 120 MPa in compression were designed to assess the ability to carry shear stress in thin webbed prestressed beams with stirrups. The test variables were the level of prestressing, shear span-depth ratio ( / ) and stirrup ratio. Shear deformation, shear capacity and crack pattern were experimentally investigated in detail. With regard to the shear resistance of the test beams, the predictions from three standards (AFGC, JSCE and SIA) on the design of UHPC structures were compared with the experimental result suggesting that the experimental strength is almost always higher than predicted. RPC, as a new concrete, was different from normal concrete and fiber reinforced concrete. Further study should be needed to develop an analytical method and computation model for shear strength of RPC beams.

Control of the agglomeration of crystals in the reactive crystallization of 5-(difluoromethoxy)-2-mercapto

摘要： 5-(Difluoromethoxy)-2-mercapto-1 -benzimidazole (DMB) was precipitated by adding acetic acid to the DMB sodium salt solution. The spherical agglomeration of DMB during the reactive crystallization in a batch crystallizer was monitored by real-time Particle Video Microscope (PVM). We found that the low feeding rate of acetic acid, high crystallization temperature, low agitation rate or adding seed crystal can facilitate the formation of spherical agglomerates. By using a simple model, the mean crystal agglomerate size of DMB thus predicted is generally in agreement with the experimental data. In addition, the crystallization process of DMB was optimized by a new control strategy of supersaturation to avoid disadvantages brought by agglomeration.

Catalytic ozonation of reactive red X-3B in aqueous solution under low pressure: decolorization and OH

摘要： Catalytic ozonation of Reactive Red X-3B in aqueous solution had been carried out in an ozone oxidation reactor where Mn-Fe-ceramic honeycomb was used as the catalysts. The presence of Mn-Fe-ceramic honeycomb catalyst could obviously improve the decoloration efficiency of Reactive Red X-3B and the utilization efficiency of ozone compared to the results from non-catalytic ozonation. Adsorption of Reactive Red X-3B had no obviously influence on the degradation efficiency. Addition of tert-butanol significantly decreased the degradation efficiency, indicating that the degradation of Reactive Red X-3B followed the mechanism of hydroxyl radical (OH·) oxidation. The operating variables such as reaction pressure and ozone supply had a positive influence on the degradation efficiency, mainly attributing to facilitate the ozone decomposition and OH· formation.

Chemically reactive solute transfer in a boundary layer slip flow along a stretching cylinder

摘要： This paper presents the distribution of a solute undergoing a first order chemical reaction in an axisymmetric laminar boundary layer flow along a stretching cylinder. Velocity slip condition at the boundary is used instead of no-slip condition. Similarity transformations are used to convert the partial differential equations corresponding to momentum and concentration into highly nonlinear ordinary differential equations. Numerical solutions of these equations are obtained by the shooting method. The velocity decreases with increasing slip parameter. The skin friction as well as the mass transfer rate at the surface is larger for a cylinder than for a flat plate.
