A genome-wide association study of five meat quality traits in Yorkshire pigs

摘要: Meat quality is an important trait in the pig industry. To identify genomic regions and haplotype blocks responsible for meat quality traits in pigs, a genome-wide association study was conducted for five traits including intramuscular fat content, pH at 45 min and 24 h, drip loss within 24 h and water-holding capacity in 231 Yorkshire barrows using illumina porcine 60k SNP chips. The results showed that a total of 344 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) were significantly associated with five meat quality traits ( <1×10 ). Moreover, 323 SNPs were within the reported QTL regions, of which 21 were novel. Also, 158 SNPs fell into the proximal region of meat quality related genes. In addition, 25 haplotype blocks based on 116 SNPs were revealed with SNP combination patterns for five traits. Our study added new SNP information for identification of meat quality traits in pigs and will help elucidate the mechanisms of meat quality in pigs.

Measurement of trimethylamine concentration and evaluation of pig meat natural quality by a spectrophotometric

摘要: Pig meat off-flavor is attributed to trimethylamine (TMA) concentration, and it is considered as the precursor of the fishy off-flavor problems. In this study, TMA concentrations in pig meat were determined, and the interactions with breed and gender effects were discussed. In addition, the TMA threshold for meat off-flavor and pig meat natural quality was measured in relation to meat storage and movement, and the influential factors including the pig breed and storage time were discussed. The results indicated positive effects on the precursor of the fishy off-flavor and the TMA threshold. Native breeds were found to have lower TMA concentrations than European breeds ( <0.01), and females and castrated males had significantly lower TMA concentration than males ( <0.01), The threshold concentration of TMA when meat was classed as off-flavored was 25 μg·g , and this occurred after 35–38 h of storage. The natural qualities, such as appearance, flavor, color and overall acceptable scores declined significantly after 4 days in storage ( <0.01). It is concluded that pig meat off-flavor, breed and gender were essential factors affecting flavor for meat breeding programs, and storage time is important for pig meat natural quality.

Top-geoherbs of traditional Chinese medicine: common trait, quality characteristics and formation

摘要: Top-geoherbs used in China are always featured with high qualities, and they grow in specified areas with specific environment. Recently, researches on top-geoherbs have attracted increasing attention in China and other countries. In order to have a thorough knowledge of top-geoherbs, this article reviews the concept, historical evolution, common trait and quality characteristics of top-geoherbs, and explains the forming mechanism including genetic mechanism and environmental mechanism. In addition, it introduces the influence of human factors on the quality of top-geoherbs. Finally, it proposes some problems that should be paid attention to in the researches on top-geoherbs.

摘要:

蛋白质是人类健康生活必需的营养元素,动物源肉制品是人体补充蛋白质的主要来源。随着全球人口持续增长,人们对蛋白质的需求快速增加,传统畜牧业由于生态环境和动物福利的压力,无法生产足够的肉制品供人类消费。通过一定技术手段制备具有动物肉的纤维结构、质构、颜色、风味、口感、外观的仿生肉制品,充分响应了绿色、环保、健康、可持续发展的理念。本文聚焦植物蛋白基仿生肉制品,重点综述了仿生肉制品的产品配方和制备技术,并基于营养安全角度分析了消费者对仿生肉制品的接受程度。此外,总结了仿生肉制品现阶段发展所面临的主要挑战,并展望了其发展前景。

Thermochemical pretreatment of meat and bone meal and its effect on methane production

摘要: Since the solubilization of meat and bone meal (MBM) is a prerequisite in many MBM disposal approaches, enhancement of the solubilization by means of thermochemical pretreatment was investigated in this study at two temperatures (55°C and 131°C) and six sodium hydroxide (NaOH) concentrations (0, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20g/L). The MBM volatile solid (VS) reduction ratio was up to 66% and 70% at 55°C and 131°C, respectively. At the same temperature, the VS reduction ratio increased with the increase in the dosage of NaOH. The study on the methane (CH) production potential of pretreated MBM shows that the addition of NaOH at 55°C did not cause the inhibition of the succeeding CH production process. However, CH production was inhibited by the addition of NaOH at 131°C. The CH production potential was in the range of 389 to 503mL CH/g VS MBM and 464 to 555mL CH/g VS MBM at 55°C and 131°C, respectively.

THE ROLE OF LONG-TERM EXPERIMENTS IN VALIDATING TRAIT-BASED APPROACHES TO ACHIEVING MULTIFUNCTIONALITY

Quantifying the relationships between plant functional traits and ecosystem services has been promoted as an approach to achieving multifunctional grassland systems that balance productivity with other regulating, supporting and cultural services. Establishing trade-offs and synergies between traits and services has largely relied on meta-analyses of studies from different systems and environments. This study demonstrated the value of focused studies of long-term experiments in grassland systems that measure traits and services in the same space and time to better understand the ecological constraints underlying these trade-offs and synergies. An analysis is presented that uses data from the Park Grass Experiment at Rothamsted Research on above-ground productivity, species richness and soil organic carbon stocks to quantify the relationships between these three outcomes and the power of variance in plant functional traits in explaining them. There was a trade-off between plots with high productivity, nitrogen inputs and soil organic carbon and plots with high species richness that was explained by a functional gradient of traits that are indicative of contrasting strategies of resource acquisition of resource conservation. Examples were identified of using functional traits to identify opportunities for mitigating these trade-offs and moving toward more multifunctional systems.

我国牛羊肉产业的发展现状、挑战与出路

摘要:

牛羊肉产业在利用农业资源、丰富膳食结构、繁荣农业经济及维护民族稳定等方面具有重要的战略作用。我国牛羊肉产业正从副业生产逐步迈向专业化生产,虽然取得了一些成就,但也面临着供需缺口持续增大、粗饲料资源结构性不合理、牛羊种业发展滞后、外源性竞争加剧等挑战。通过国内外对比分析与趋势判断,笔者提出了推进草畜一体化建设、尽快启动牛羊肉产业关键技术环节的国家重点研发计划、完善育种机制、加强牛羊肉屠宰加工业的发展、加大对西南地区牛羊肉产业的培育力度等战略建议。

培育肉生产技术发展研究

摘要:

培育肉指不经饲养和屠宰动物、而是通过体外培养动物细胞来生产获得的新型肉制品,被视为最有可能解决传统牲畜生产导致资源消耗、环境污染、公众健康等问题的有效方案之一。本文概括了培育肉生产流程与关键技术,梳理了培育肉技术的国际发展态势,剖析了我国培育肉技术发展态势及行业发展面临的问题,据此提出我国培育肉生产技术的发展建议。研究发现,培育肉生产涉及细胞生物学、组织工程、发酵工程、食品工程等多学科领域的技术融合与综合运用,世界培育肉技术的发展处于起步和上升阶段;尽管行业领先企业已实现技术集成与产业化示范,但培育肉的工业化生产尚未完全实现,诸多关键技术瓶颈亟待突破。研究认为,我国培育肉行业起步较晚,面临研究基础薄弱、技术研发思路单一、产业化进程缓慢等问题,未来应加大对相关基础研发的政策和资金支持,加强跨行业交流并促进校企合作,注重消费者对培育肉的接受度与口味营养需求。

Functional trait differences between native bunchgrasses and the invasive grass

摘要: We conducted 30- and 60-d greenhouse experiments to compare functional traits of (invasive annual grass) and four perennial bunchgrasses under well-watered or drought conditions. Even under drought, experienced significantly less stress (i.e., higher xylem pressure potential and greater shoot water content, water use per day and water-use efficiency) and biomass production than the perennial grasses after 30 d. However, after 60 d, its superiority was reduced under infrequent watering. Differences among perennial grasses were more pronounced for physiological traits under infrequent watering and for morphological traits under frequent watering. (fast-growing species) had a higher transpiration rate, lower leaf temperature, and lower water-use efficiency than the other grasses after 30 d. In contrast, (slow-growing) had lower xylem pressure potential and higher leaf temperature than all other grasses under infrequent watering. Under frequent watering, shoot dry mass and specific leaf area of was matched by (moderate-growing species). Our results indicate that multiple-species plantings or seedings are necessary to foster greater weed resistance against . We also emphasize that when choosing plant material for restoration, performance during both pulse (resource-rich) and inter-pulse (resource-poor) periods should be considered.

Genome-wide association study of the backfat thickness trait in two pig populations

摘要: Backfat thickness is a good predictor of carcass lean content, an economically important trait, and a main breeding target in pig improvement. In this study, the candidate genes and genomic regions associated with the tenth rib backfat thickness trait were identified in two independent pig populations, using a genome-wide association study of porcine 60K SNP genotype data applying the compressed mixed linear model (CMLM) statistical method. For each population, 30 most significant single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were selected and SNP annotation implemented using Build 10.2. In the first population, 25 significant SNPs were distributed on seven chromosomes, and SNPs on SSC1 and SSC7 showed great significance for fat deposition. The most significant SNP (ALGA0006623) was located on SSC1, upstream of the gene. In the second population, 27 significant SNPs were recognized by annotation, and 12 SNPs on SSC12 were related to fat deposition. Two haplotype blocks, M1GA0016251-MARC0075799 and ALGA0065251-MARC0014203-M1GA0016298-ALGA0065308, were detected in significant regions where the and genes were identified as contributing to fat metabolism. The results indicated that genetic mechanism regulating backfat thickness is complex, and that genome-wide associations can be affected by populations with different genetic backgrounds.

细胞培养肉产业技术发展态势及建议

细胞培养肉是融合先进生物技术、食品技术的战略性新兴产业,未来有可能带动农业领域的产业结构调整和发展模式转变;细胞培养肉技术正处于向商品化迈进的阶段,开展相关产业技术发展态势分析具有价值。本文梳理了细胞培养肉生产核心原料和试剂的产业态势及研究进展,涵盖良种动物、种子细胞、培养基、支架材料;分析了支持细胞培养肉生产的基础装备设施(生物安全柜、生物反应器及其他常用装备)制造技术瓶颈与行业竞争格局;剖析了细胞培养肉规模化生产的核心技术体系及发展动态,涉及种子细胞库建立、低成本培养基研制、大规模培养工艺、食品化加工技术。针对我国细胞培养肉产业基础的薄弱之处,提出了针对性发展建议:加快试剂装备国产化进程、完善细胞培养肉产业链,完善培养肉技术体系、加强知识产权国际布局,优化学科专业布局、校企融合双元育人,完善产品风险评估、论证和发布团体标准,加强科学知识普及、提高公众接受度。

植物化学物质的生物功能及其在家畜中的应用研究——以Nrf2/Keap1系统为目标

活性氧(ROS)对人类和其他动物健康的负面影响非常值得关注。ROS可能由机械伤害、热刺激、感染和化学刺激产生。核转录相关因子(Nrf2)及其伴侣蛋白Keap1组成的Nrf2/Keap1系统在抗氧化作用中扮演着重要角色。Nrf2/Keap1系统通过与抗氧化反应元件(ARE)相互作用,调控一系列解毒酶和抗氧化酶基因的表达来维持机体氧化还原的平衡状态。膳食植物化学物质在蔬菜、水果、谷物和草药中普遍存在,研究发现其有益健康,还可通过多种途径调节Nrf2介导的II相酶来提高家畜的生长性能和肉质。然而,关于植物化学物质作用效果的大量数据有些混乱,需要根据植物化学物质的功能和作用机制进行相应的分类。在本文中,我们首先介绍了植物化学物质的抗氧化性及其与Nrf2/Keap1系统的关系,并总结了植物化学物质通过靶向Nrf2/Keap1系统,对家畜生长性能、肉质和肠道菌群的影响。这些详尽的数据有助于阐述植物化学物质在家畜中潜在的生物功能特性。

proxies for yield potential and heat stress tolerance in spring wheat: heritability estimates and marker-trait

The application of spectral reflectance indices (SRIs) as proxies to screen for yield potential (YP) and heat stress (HS) is emerging in crop breeding programs. Thus, a comparison of SRIs and their associations with grain yield (GY) under YP and HS conditions is important. In this study, we assessed the usefulness of 27 SRIs for indirect selection for agronomic traits by evaluating an elite spring wheat association mapping initiative (WAMI) population comprising 287 elite lines under YP and HS conditions. Genetic and phenotypic analysis identified 11 and 9 SRIs in different developmental stages as efficient indirect selection indices for yield in YP and HS conditions, respectively. We identified enhanced vegetation index (EVI) as the common SRI associated with GY under YP at booting, heading and late heading stages, whereas photochemical reflectance index (PRI) and normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) were the common SRIs under booting and heading stages in HS. Genome-wide association study (GWAS) using 18704 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from Illumina iSelect 90K identified 280 and 43 marker-trait associations for efficient SRIs at different developmental stages under YP and HS, respectively. Common genomic regions for multiple SRIs were identified in 14 regions in 9 chromosomes: 1B (60–62 cM), 3A (15, 85–90, 101–105 cM), 3B (132–134 cM), 4A (47–51 cM), 4B (71–75 cM), 5A (43–49, 56–60, 89–93 cM), 5B (124–125 cM), 6A (80–85 cM), and 6B (57–59, 71 cM). Among them, SNPs in chromosome 5A (89–93 cM) and 6A (80–85 cM) were co-located for yield and yield related traits. Overall, this study highlights the utility of SRIs as proxies for GY under YP and HS. High heritability estimates and identification of marker-trait associations indicate that SRIs are useful tools for understanding the genetic basis of agronomic and physiological traits.

From total quality management to Quality 4.0: A systematic literature review and future research agenda

摘要: Quality 4.0 is an emerging concept that has been increasingly appreciated because of the intensification of competition, continually changing customer requirements and technological evolution. It deals with aligning quality management practices with the emergent capabilities of Industry 4.0 to improve cost, time, and efficiency and increase product quality. This article aims to comprehensively review extant studies related to Quality 4.0 to uncover current research trends, distil key research topics, and identify areas for future research. Thus, 46 journal articles extracted from the Scopus database from 2017 to 2022 were collected and reviewed. A descriptive analysis was first performed according to the year-wise publication, sources of publication, and research methods. Then, the selected articles were analyzed and classified according to four research themes: Quality 4.0 concept, Quality 4.0 implementation, quality management in Quality 4.0, and Quality 4.0 model and application. By extracting the literature review findings, we identify the Quality 4.0 definitions and features, develop the quality curve theory, and highlight future research opportunities. This study supports practitioners, managers, and academicians in effectively recognizing and applying Quality 4.0 to enhance customer satisfaction, achieve innovation enterprise efficiency, and increase organizational competitiveness in the era of Industry 4.0.

Research and establishment of enterprise quality metadata standard

摘要: Enabling quality managers to utilize and manage quality data efficiently under modern quality management circumstances is a primary issue for improving enterprise quality management. A concept of quality metadata is proposed in this paper, which can help quality managers gain a deeper understanding of various features of quality data and establish a more stable foundation for further use and management of such data. The procedure of establishing quality metadata standards is emphasized in the paper, and the content structure and description scheme are given. Finally, a summary is made and future work is prospected.
