Bhavnesh KUMAR, Yogesh K CHAUHAN, Vivek SHRIVASTAVA

Frontiers in Energy 2014, Volume 8, Issue 1,   Pages 81-89 doi: 10.1007/s11708-014-0295-9

Abstract: In this paper a fuzzy logic (FL) based model reference adaptive system (MRAS) speed observer for high performance AC drives is proposed. The error vector computation is made based on the rotor-flux derived from the reference and the adaptive model of the induction motor. The error signal is processed in the proposed fuzzy logic controller (FLC) for speed adaptation. The drive employs an indirect vector control scheme for achieving a good closed loop speed control. For powering the drive system, a standalone photovoltaic (PV) energy source is used. To extract the maximum power from the PV source, a constant voltage controller (CVC) is also proposed. The complete drive system is modeled in MATLAB/Simulink and the performance is analyzed for different operating conditions.

Frontiers in Energy 2022, Volume 16, Issue 4,   Pages 595-600 doi: 10.1007/s11708-022-0827-7

Abstract: Nickel selenide electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) with a high efficiency and a low-cost have a significant potential in the development of water splitting. However, the inferiority of the high overpotential and poor stability restricts their practical applications. Herein, a composite nanostructure consists of ultrasmall NiSe2 nanocrystals embedded on graphene by microwave reaction is reported. The prepared NiSe2/reduced graphite oxide (rGO) electrocatalyst exhibited a high HER activity with an overpotential of 158 mV at a current density of 10 mA/cm2 and a corresponding moderate Tafel slope of 56 mV/dec in alkaline electrolyte. In addition, a high retention of electrochemical properties (approximately 100%) was demonstrated with an unchangeable microstructure after 100 h of continuous operation.

Photoelectrocatalytic generation of H and S from toxic HS by using a novel BiOI/WO nanoflake array photoanode

Frontiers in Energy 2021, Volume 15, Issue 3,   Pages 744-751 doi: 10.1007/s11708-021-0775-7

Abstract: In this paper, a photoelectrocatalytic (PEC) recovery of toxic H2S into H2 and S system was proposed using a novel bismuth oxyiodide (BiOI)/ tungsten trioxide (WO3) nano-flake arrays (NFA) photoanode. The BiOI/WO3 NFA with a vertically aligned nanostructure were uniformly prepared on the conductive substrate via transformation of tungstate following an impregnating hydroxylation of BiI3. Compared to pure WO3 NFA, the BiOI/WO3 NFA promotes a significant increase of photocurrent by 200%. Owing to the excellent stability and photoactivity of the BiOI/WO3 NFA photoanode and I/I 3 catalytic system, the PEC system toward splitting of H2S totally converted S2– into S without any polysulfide ( Sx n) under solar-light irradiation. Moreover, H2 was simultaneously generated at a rate of about 0.867 mL/(h·cm). The proposed PEC H2S splitting system provides an efficient and sustainable route to recover H2 and S.

Engineering the grain boundary: a promising strategy to configure NiCoPO/NiCoP nanowire arrays for ultra-stable supercapacitor

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 8,   Pages 1259-1267 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2132-0

Abstract: NiCoP4O12/NiCoP nanorod-like arrays with tunable grain boundary density and pores were synthesized by the processes composed of hydrothermal and pyrolysis, in which, the electron structure of Ni and Co atoms characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy was contemporaneous inverse manipulated. The optimized NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays have a high specific capacitance of 507.8 μAh∙cm–2 at 1 mA∙cm–2, and good rate ability of 64.7% retention at 30-folds increased current density. Importantly, an ultra-stable ability, 88.5% of retention after 10000 cycles, was achieved in an asymmetric cell assembled of the NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays with activated carbon. In addition, the energy and power densities of an asymmetric cell were higher than those of other work, demonstrating as-prepared NiCoP4O12/NiCoP arrays are promising electrodes for supercapacitors.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 7,   Pages 1077-1097 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100180

Abstract: Light field (LF) imaging has attracted attention because of its ability to solve problems. In this paper we briefly review the research progress in in recent years. For most factors that affect development, the richness and accuracy of visual information acquisition are decisive. LF imaging technology has made great contributions to because it uses cameras or s to record the position and direction information of light rays, acquiring complete three-dimensional (3D) scene information. LF imaging technology improves the accuracy of depth estimation, image segmentation, blending, fusion, and 3D reconstruction. LF has also been innovatively applied to iris and face recognition, identification of materials and fake pedestrians, acquisition of s, shape recovery, and LF microscopy. Here, we further summarize the existing problems and the development trends of LF imaging in , including the establishment and evaluation of the LF dataset, applications under high dynamic range (HDR) conditions, LF image enhancement, virtual reality, 3D display, and 3D movies, military optical camouflage technology, image recognition at micro-scale, image processing method based on HDR, and the optimal relationship between spatial resolution and four-dimensional (4D) LF information acquisition. LF imaging has achieved great success in various studies. Over the past 25 years, more than 180 publications have reported the capability of LF imaging in solving problems. We summarize these reports to make it easier for researchers to search the detailed methods for specific solutions.
