RGS16 regulated by let-7c-5p promotes glioma progression by activating PI3K-AKT pathway

Frontiers of Medicine 2023, Volume 17, Issue 1,   Pages 143-155 doi: 10.1007/s11684-022-0929-y

Abstract: Moreover, previous studies confirmed that let-7c-5p, a well-known microRNA, can act as a tumour suppressorHowever, whether RGS16 can promote the progression of glioma and whether it is regulated by miR let-7cMoreover, RGS16 was validated as a direct target gene of miR let-7c-5p.The overexpression of miR let-7c-5p obviously downregulated the expression of RGS16, and knocking downmiR let-7c-5p had the opposite effect.

OVEREXPRESSION OF PTRLEA7, A LATE EMBRYOGENESIS ABUNDANT FAMILY GENE FROM PONCIRUS TRIFOLIATA, CONFERS

Frontiers of Agricultural Science and Engineering 2021, Volume 8, Issue 2,

Abstract: This study identified an LEA family gene (PtrLEA7) from Poncirus trifoliata and studied its functionThe full-length coding sequence of PtrLEA7 was 420 bp encoding a protein of 139 amino acids.Phylogenetic analysis shows that PtrLEA7 protein belongs to the LEA_4 subfamily.Subcellular localization reveals that PtrLEA7 protein was located in both cytoplasm and nucleus.had enhanced dehydration and drought tolerance compared with wild type plants, indicating that PtrLEA7

Pressure drop analysis on the positive half-cell of a cerium redox flow battery using computational fluid dynamics: Mathematical and modelling aspects of porous media

Fernando F. Rivera, Berenice Miranda-Alcántara, Germán Orozco, Carlos Ponce de León, Luis F. Arenas

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2021, Volume 15, Issue 2,   Pages 399-409 doi: 10.1007/s11705-020-1934-9

Abstract: Description of electrolyte fluid dynamics in the electrode compartments by mathematical models can be a powerful tool in the development of redox flow batteries (RFBs) and other electrochemical reactors. In order to determine their predictive capability, turbulent Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) and free flow plus porous media (Brinkman) models were applied to compute local fluid velocities taking place in a rectangular channel electrochemical flow cell used as the positive half-cell of a cerium-based RFB for laboratory studies. Two different platinized titanium electrodes were considered, a plate plus a turbulence promoter and an expanded metal mesh. Calculated pressure drop was validated against experimental data obtained with typical cerium electrolytes. It was found that the pressure drop values were better described by the RANS approach, whereas the validity of Brinkman equations was strongly dependent on porosity and permeability values of the porous media.
