Ma Chen, Li Jin, Zhang Qian, Feng Xian, Jie Xiaojing

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 4,   Pages 19-29 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.04.003

Abstract:

As the integration of information technology and agricultural development accelerates, the agricultural software industry has emerged to support the development of smart agriculture. In this article, we first analyze the development status of and challenges faced by China’s agricultural software industry by analyzing the development strategies of the industry in China and abroad and using literature review and survey data. Subsequently, we propose the strategic goals, major engineering projects, and policy measures for the development of China’s agricultural software industry. China’s agricultural software industry has a large gap with other countries in terms of technology development and promotion, enterprise operation, and user accumulation. The major challenges include difficulty in development, weak innovation capabilities, low return on investment, and insufficient protection of intellectual property rights, restricting the growth of China’s agricultural software industry. China should regard the software development of agricultural technologies as the main line and focus on strengthening the innovative capabilities of its agricultural software industry by 2035. The major engineering projects we proposed involve agricultural enabling software and platform development, precision agriculture management software application promotion, agricultural software industry cluster establishment, and agricultural software enterprise cultivation. Furthermore, China should improve its policy support system, strengthen the overall coordination mechanism, optimize the discipline system, and strengthen talent training for the agricultural software industry.

Early diagnosis and therapeutic choice of

Jing LI, Ying FU, Ji-Yao WANG, Chuan-Tao TU, Xi-Zhong SHEN, Lei LI, Wei JIANG

Frontiers of Medicine 2010, Volume 4, Issue 3,   Pages 308-316 doi: 10.1007/s11684-010-0103-9

Abstract: Nowadays, pyogenic liver abscess (PLA) is still a common and severe intra-abdominal infection, and had emerged as the most common pathogenic bacteria worldwide in the past ten years. Our study aims to achieve an early pathogenic diagnosis and rational therapy modality for liver abscess (KLA) through clinical data analysis. A total of 197 inpatients in Zhongshan Hospital, Shanghai, diagnosed as having liver abscess between March 2001 and September 2009 were enrolled. Patients with monomicrobial infection were divided into two groups: patients with liver abscess (KLA group, =106) and those with non- liver abscess (NKLA group, =56). A retrospective analysis was made between these two groups on the aspects of underlying diseases, clinical characteristics, laboratory data, culture results, and imaging findings. To evaluate the effects of different medical interventions, monomicrobial KLA patients were further divided into four subgroups (percutaneous liver aspiration, aspiration plus antibiotics flushing, aspiration plus retained catheter, and aspiration plus antibiotics flushing and retained catheter), and corresponding therapeutic effects were analyzed. KLA was more likely to occur in patients with coexisting diseases such as diabetes mellitus (53.77% 25.00%, =0.001) and hepatic adipose infiltration (16.04% 5.36%, =0.029). Compared to NKLA group, clinical characteristics including abdominal pain (40.57% 57.14%, =0.044), hypodynamia (19.81% 46.43%, =0.001), and hepatomegaly (4.72% 14.29%, =0.033) were much milder, but with a higher fasting blood glucose level (7.84?±?0.36 5.76?±?0.30, =0.001) on admission in KLA group. In addition, KLA abscess often appeared singly in the right lobe of the liver with gas forming nature (32.88% 13.51%, =0.039), unsmooth rim (71.23% 40.54%, =0.002), and dynamic septum enhancement (41.10% 16.22%, =0.009). Compared to mono aspiration subgroup, additional antibiotic flushing could not further improve clinical outcomes of KLA patients ( >0.05); however, the retained catheter showed obvious advantage in reducing abscess diameter (34.38?±?3.25 mm 22.67?±?2.37 mm, =0.017). It can be concluded that the strong association with diabetes, milder clinical symptoms, and gas-forming nature in CT images makes early pathogenic diagnosis of KLA possible. Comparatively, ultrasonography-guided percutaneous liver aspiration with retained catheter may be the most rational intervention modality of KLA.

Is sodium percarbonate a good choice in situ remediation of deltamethrin pollution?

Xu Zhang, Baigang Ren, Shangge Li, Xiaodi Qu, Huanhuan Yang, Shiguo Xu, Zongming Ren, Qiang Kong, Cheng Wang

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2017, Volume 11, Issue 3, doi: 10.1007/s11783-017-0931-9

Abstract: In this research, the toxic effects of deltamethrin (DM) on the behavior responses of Zebra fish ( ) in the characteristic of behavior strength were investigated followed by an assessment of an in situ remediation of the DM pollution using sodium percarbonate. Behavior strength of was approximately 0.83 in the control group and was slightly higher than 0.83 in the sublethal treatment (0.1 TU (toxic unit)), which suggested that sublethal DM exposure could induce a stimulation effect in 48 h of exposure. In lower DM concentration treatments (0.5 and 1.0 TU), behavior strength could be inhibited significantly. Behavior responses of showed a gradually increased tendency when they were exposed to higher concentration of DM, and the declining amplitudes of behavior strength changed with the increase of DM concentrations. These results suggested that DM had evident acute toxicity effects on the behavior responses of with a good dose-effect relationship. The in situ remediation of the DM pollution using sodium percarbonate showed that the toxic effect of DM on behavior responses of could be eliminated even in the highest concentration of DM (5.0 TU). Meanwhile, the behavior response of in the treatment of sodium percarbonate was the same as in the control, which indicated that sodium percarbonate had no evident toxic effects on the behavior of in the current concentration. This study suggested that adding sodium percarbonate in situ might be a good way to eliminate the DM toxic effects.

Integrated Network Design and Demand Forecast for On-Demand Urban Air Mobility Article

Zhiqiang Wu, Yu Zhang

Engineering 2021, Volume 7, Issue 4,   Pages 473-487 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2020.11.007

Abstract:

Urban air mobility (UAM) is an emerging concept proposed in recent years that uses electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (eVTOLs). UAM is expected to offer an alternative way of transporting passengers and goods in urban areas with significantly improved mobility by making use of low-altitude airspace. In addition to other essential elements, ground infrastructure of vertiports is needed to transition UAM from concept to operation. This study examines the network design of UAM on-demand service, with a particular focus on the use of integer programming and a solution algorithm to determine the optimal locations of vertiports, user allocation to vertiports, and vertiport access- and egress-mode choices while considering the interactions between vertiport locations and potential UAM travel demand. A case study based on simulated disaggregate travel demand data of the Tampa Bay area in Florida, USA was conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model. Candidate vertiport locations were obtained by analyzing a  three-dimensional (3D) geographic information system (GIS) map developed from lidar data of Florida and physical and regulation constraints of eVTOL operations at vertiports. Optimal locations of vertiports were determined to achieve the minimal total generalized cost; however, the modeling structure allows each user to select a better mode between ground transportation and UAM in terms of generalized cost. The outcomes of the case study reveal that although the percentage of trips that switched from ground mode to multimodal UAM was small, users choosing the UAM service benefited from significant time saving. In addition, the impact of different parameter settings on the demand for UAM service was explored from the supply side, and different pricing strategies were tested that might influence potential demand and revenue generation for UAM operators. The combined effects of the number of vertiports and pricing strategies were also analyzed. The findings from this study offer in-depth planning and managerial insights for municipal decision-makers and UAM operators. The conclusion of this paper discusses caveats to the study, ongoing efforts by the authors, and future directions in UAM research.
