Abstract:

This paper discusses the developing process of simulation technology in view of its development, maturation and further development. Then this paper introduces the application of simulation technology in the fields of national economy. Finally, this paper analyzes the level and status quo of home and overseas simulation technology, and presents its future trend in the new century.

Development of Simulation Technologies and Researches of Modeling Theory for Power Plant in China

Abstract:

In this paper the development of simulation technologies and modeling theory of the fossil power generating unit in China is discussed and analysed. Authors described developing process of the fossil power simulators from scientific researches to achieving the most quantity in the world. While the information of electric power simulators distributed over the world is given. The key technologies——modeling theory and method of the thermal system simulation are summarized. Authors expounded the lumped parameter model, distributed parameter model, dynamic revised model of high precision lumped parameter and other model. These model equations are applied various simulated objects and different simulation precision.

GIS-based Visual Simulation Methodology for Concrete Dam Construction Process and Its Application

Abstract:

This paper presents a GIS-based visual simulation methodology for concrete dam construction process, in which system simulation techniques are integrated with visualization techniques. GIS-based visual simulation system (GVSS) was developed by the authors. GVSS is a powerful schedule planning tool offering visualizing and querying capabilities simultaneously. GVSS has been applied to a real concrete dam construction project, which verified the feasibility of the methodology and GVSS.

Explicit–Implicit Co-Simulation Techniques for Dynamic Responses of a Passenger Car on Arbitrary Road Surfaces Article

Abstract:

To study the durability of a passenger car, this work investigates numerical simulation techniques. The investigations are based on an explicit–implicit approach in which substructure techniques are used to reduce the simulation time, allowing full vehicle dynamic analyses to be performed on a timescale that is difficult or impossible with the conventional finite element model (FEM). The model used here includes all necessary nonlinearities in order to maintain accuracy. All key components of the car structure are modeled with deformable materials. Tire–road interactions are modeled in the explicit package with contact-impact interfaces with arbitrary frictional and geometric properties. Key parameters of the responses of the car driven on six different kinds of test road surfaces are examined and compared with experimental values. It can be concluded that the explicit–implicit co-simulation techniques used here are efficient and accurate enough for engineering purposes. This paper also discusses the limitations of the proposed method and outlines possible improvements for future work.
