The Shanghai Corporate Pavilion design for World Expo in Shanghai 2010

摘要： New technologies are becoming today’s basic building blocks. This paper presents a case study of the Shanghai Corporate Pavilion for the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai. From the shape of the building to the use of solar energy, the Shanghai Corporate Pavilion incorporates the state-of-art technologies to convey the spirit of the architecture. It addresses the pressing issue of energy, environment, and sustainability and reflects the spirit of Shanghai as a historically progressive yet still fast moving international metropolis.

Project management maturity in construction consulting services: Case of Expo in China

摘要： For many years, project management maturity models (PMMM) derived from the software industry have brought immeasurable benefits. However, the adoption and investigation of PMMM in the construction field have been weak and insufficient, particularly in construction consulting services (CCS). Moreover, professionals have gradually realized the importance of non-process factors (e.g., teamwork, culture, leadership) in the evaluation of PMMM. This study describes the construction of PMMM for CCS that considers non-process factors and combines them with CCS-specific process factors. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed model, we conduct a case study on the overall project management consultancy for China’s 2010 Winter Expo. The results would fill in the PMMM research gap in CCS and provide practitioners with ideas to improve their performance.

Scale study of sites and pavilions for World Expo 2010

摘要： The scale of sites and pavilions for World Expo 2010 (Shanghai World Expo) mainly refers to the study of their size including the area and number of exhibition hall needed in each pavilion and site with appropriate waiting area. All the design data of scale studied should reasonably meet the requirements during World Expo 2010 to accommodate large number of people for visiting and waiting to the full.
