Abstract:
Since 2020, in response to the global outbreak of COVID-19, researchers from all countries have urgently carried out the research and development of COVID-19 vaccine. The research and development of COVID-19 vaccine adopts five technical routes: inactivated vaccine, nucleic acid (mRNA or DNA) vaccine, recombinant protein vaccine, adenovirus vector vaccine and attenuated influenza virus vector vaccine. The research and development cycle is greatly shortened to 10-18 months, creating a new record of human vaccine research and development, and realizing the large-scale application of mRNA vaccine for the first time. By December 31, 2021, more than 8 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been vaccinated worldwide, which has played a significant role in preventing COVID-19 infection and morbidity, especially in significantly reducing serious cases and deaths.
