Manufacturing industry is the principal part of the national economy, and is the foundation of a nation, the instrument of rejuvenating a nation, and the base of a strong nation. Under the background of national promotion policy and manufacturing technology transformation and upgrading, the Forum of "2019 International Summit Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Strategy: from Frontier Technology to Research and Development of Products using Medical Additive Manufacturing” will be held on June 14-16, 2019 in Kylin Villa, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

The Forum will be hosted by Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and co-hosted by the Divisions of Medical and Health Care,Divisions of Metallurgy and Material Engineering of the CAE, as well as co-organized by Medical Additive Manufacturing Specialty Committee of China Association of Medical Equipment, Peking Union Medical College Hospital (PUMCH), School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology (SIAT) of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Jishuitan Hospital,Peking University People's Hosptial, Xi'an Honghui Hospital, Chinese Academy of Engineering Shenzhen Academician Consultation Center, Second People’s Hospital of Shenzhen, Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Chinese Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, CAS Key Laboratory of Health Informatics. Academician Qiu Guixing and Academician Ding Wenjiang of the Chinses Academy of Engineering will serve as the chairman. Dean Tian Wei from Beijing Jishuitan Hospital and Dean Hao Dingjun from Xi’an Honghui Hospital will serve as vice chairman. Professor Qin Ling from Chinese University of Hong Kong, Dean Fan Jianping from SIAτDean Chen Yun from Peking University Shenzhen Hospital, Dean Nie Guohui from Shenzhen Second People’s Hospital, and director Chen Wei form Chinese Academy of Engineering Shenzhen Academician Consultation Center will serve as executive presidents.

The Forum committee has invited many academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, academicians from the United States, France, Canada and other countries, as well as wellknown experts and scholars in the fields of additive manufacturing for medical applications, such as Outstanding Youth and Yangtze River scholars, the chief experts from Key Special Projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and experts from supervision department. The theme of this Forum is the "medical additive manufacturing frontier technology". The Forum will concentrate on cutting-edge issues and important directions in key technical fields such as frontier medical additive manufacturing technology，raw material, software and equipment, AM fabricated innovative biomaterials and their assessment, clinical research and application of medical additive manufacturing, and relevant laws and regulations of additive manufacturing, etc.. This Forum will provide significant academic support for medium and long-term science and technology planning in the field of national additive manufacturing.
