Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2014, Volume 8, Issue 5,   Pages 729-736 doi: 10.1007/s11783-013-0611-3

Abstract: The conjugates of keyhole limpet hemocyanin (KLH) and -SCN-Bz-DTPA-Pb were used as immunogen, whereasthe conjugates of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and -NH -Bn-DTPA-Pb were used as coating antigen.Polyclonal antibodies specific to DTPA-Pb chelates were obtained from rabbits. In the mixing microplate, DTPA and Pb ions formed chelates and combined with specific antibodies. The reaction microplate was coated by the conjugates of BSA and -NH -DTPA-Pb, which competed for the

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2023, Volume 17, Issue 6,   Pages 726-734 doi: 10.1007/s11705-022-2274-8

Abstract: cost-effective electrocatalytic system for nitric oxide (NO) reduction reaction (NORR) is vital for sustainable NHHerein, it is shown that phosphorus (P)-doped titania (TiO2) nanotubes can be adopted as highlyNoteworthy, the obtained performance metrics are significantly larger than those for N2 reductionTheoretical simulations reveal that the introduction of P dopants tunes the electronic structure of Tiactive sites, thereby enhancing the NO adsorption and facilitating the desorption of *NH3

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2021, Volume 15, Issue 6,   Pages 1537-1549 doi: 10.1007/s11705-021-2094-2

Abstract: In this work, h-BN/NiS2/NiS composites were prepared via a simple solvothermal methodThe 7 wt-% h-BN/NiS2/NiS composites were characterized via a larger specific surfaceHowever, the removal rate of RhB by the 7 wt-% h-BN/NiS2/NiS photocatalyst reachedThis is due to the double Z-scheme heterojunction formed between NiS2/NiS and h-BN,promoted transportation of photoinduced charges on the surface of the h-BN/NiS2/NiS

A low power, eco-friendly multipurpose thermoelectric refrigerator

N. Jagan Mohan REDDY

Frontiers in Energy 2016, Volume 10, Issue 1,   Pages 79-87 doi: 10.1007/s11708-015-0380-8

Abstract: There has been an immense endeavor to mitigate global warming in spite of which it has only been worse. This paper presents the design and implementation of a low power and eco-friendly refrigeration system using the thermoelectric effect. The conventional refrigerators make use of complex mechanisms which involves synchronous operation of various units, namely the compressor, condensers, expansion valves, evaporator, refrigerant and so on. But a thermoelectric refrigerator exploits the principle of the Peltier effect, thus avoiding the utilization of these complex components. This even helps curb the release of harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) into the atmosphere which contributes to the increase in global temperature. Moreover, the temperature can be controlled and set to required values with the help of a microcontroller. Hence, this can be used both for domestic and commercial purposes. The unit does not eject any harmful gases. Therefore, the heat expelled from the unit can be tapped for heating utilities, making the use of this device versatile in its application. Thus this proposal aims not only at reducing the air pollutants by not contributing to it but also at reducing the power consumption.
