Zheng-yu Song, Cong Wang, Stephan Theil, David Seelbinder, Marco Sagliano, Xin-fu Liu, Zhi-jiang Shao,zycalt12@sina.com

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 5,   Pages 649-808 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900458

Abstract: This paper summarizes the s (AGMs) for on celestial surfaces. We first review the development of guidance methods, focusing on their contributions for dealing with constraints and enhancing computational efficiency. With the increasing demand for reusable launchers and more scientific returns from space exploration, has become a basic requirement. Unlike the kilometer-level precision for previous activities, the position accuracy of future planetary landers is within tens of meters of a target respecting all constraints of velocity and attitude, which is a very difficult task and arouses renewed interest in AGMs. This paper states the generalized three- and six-degree-of-freedom optimization problems in the phase and compares the features of three typical scenarios, i.e., the lunar, Mars, and Earth landing. On this basis, the paper details the characteristics and adaptability of AGMs by comparing aspects of analytical guidance methods, numerical optimization algorithms, and learning-based methods, and discusses the convexification treatment and solution strategies for non-convex problems. Three key issues related to AGM application, including physical feasibility, model accuracy, and real-time performance, are presented afterward for discussion. Many space organizations, such as those in the United States, China, France, Germany, and Japan, have also developed free-flying demonstrators to carry out related research. The guidance methods which have been tested on these demonstrators are briefly introduced at the end of the paper.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 6,   Pages 809-962 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900593

Abstract: We introduce the fractional-order global optimal backpropagation machine, which is trained by an improved (FSDM). This is a fractional-order backpropagation neural network (FBPNN), a state-of-the-art fractional-order branch of the family of backpropagation neural networks (BPNNs), different from the majority of the previous classic first-order BPNNs which are trained by the traditional first-order steepest descent method. The reverse incremental search of the proposed FBPNN is in the negative directions of the approximate fractional-order partial derivatives of the square error. First, the theoretical concept of an FBPNN trained by an improved FSDM is described mathematically. Then, the mathematical proof of fractional-order global optimal convergence, an assumption of the structure, and of the FBPNN are analyzed in detail. Finally, we perform three (types of) experiments to compare the performances of an FBPNN and a classic first-order BPNN, i.e., example function approximation, , and comparison of global search and error fitting abilities with real data. The higher optimal search ability of an FBPNN to determine the global optimal solution is the major advantage that makes the FBPNN superior to a classic first-order BPNN.

Crossing “Environmental Mountain”——On the Increase and Decrease of Environment Impact in the Process of Economic Growth

Lu Zhongwu,Mao Jiansu

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 12,   Pages 36-42

Abstract:

The curve of environmental impact in the process of economic growth in developed countries was likened to “environmental mountain”. For developing countries, particularly China, the right way of economic development is going through the “environmental mountain” on the halfway up the mountain - a new way for industrialization. The formulas of the relationship between environmental impact and GDP were derived, in which there are 2 key variables: g—growth rate of GDP; t—decreasing rate of environmental impact per unit GDP. Taking several countries and provinces in China as examples, the relationships between economic growth and energy consumption were studied. The environmental impacts of China in the years 2005, 2010 and 2020 were anticipated under different assumptions, and further discussion was given in terms of energy consumption.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000041

Abstract: In this study, we focus mainly on the problem of finding the minimum-length path through a set of circular regions by a fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicle. Such a problem is referred to as the with neighborhoods (DTSPN). Algorithms developed in the literature for solving DTSPN either are computationally demanding or generate low-quality solutions. To achieve a better trade-off between solution quality and computational cost, an efficient gradient-free is designed. The core idea of the is to decompose DTSPN into a series of subproblems, each of which consists of finding the minimum-length path of a from a configuration to another configuration via an intermediate circular region. By analyzing the geometric properties of the subproblems, we use a bisection method to solve the subproblems. As a result, the can efficiently address DTSPN by successively solving a series of subproblems. Finally, several numerical experiments are carried out to demonstrate the in comparison with several existing algorithms.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 10,   Pages 1390-1403 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900341

Abstract: The era of big data in healthcare is here, and this era will significantly improve medicine and especially oncology. However, traditional machine learning algorithms need to be promoted to solve such large-scale real-world problems due to a large amount of data that needs to be analyzed and the difficulty in solving problems with nonconvex nonlinear settings. We aim to minimize the composite of a smooth nonlinear function and a block-separable nonconvex function on a large number of block variables with inequality constraints. We propose a novel parallel first-order optimization method, called asynchronous block coordinate descent with (ATP), which adopts a technique that escapes from saddle points and sub-optimal local points. The details of the proposed method are presented with analyses of convergence and iteration complexity properties. Experiments conducted on real-world machine learning problems validate the efficacy of our proposed method. The experimental results demonstrate that enables ATP to escape from saddle points and sub-optimal points, providing a promising way to handle nonconvex optimization problems with inequality constraints employing asynchronous block coordinate descent. The asynchronous parallel implementation on shared memory multi-core platforms indicates that the proposed algorithm, ATP, has strong scalability.

Abstract:

Marine nuclear power equipment (MNPE) is crucial for the sustainable energy supply and carbon emission reduction during deep-sea resource exploitation. However, China has not achieved breakthroughs in the field of civil MNPE, although it has a good foundation in the nuclear and marine equipment industries. Based on the research of MNPE development practices in China and abroad, this study summarizes the advantages and technical sources of MNPE, analyzes future application scenarios and development trends, clarifies the strategic demand and problems of MNPE development in China, and proposes several development suggestions. Currently, MNPE is extending from military to civil use and from land to sea, and its main technical source is compact and integrated pressurized water reactors. In the near future, the equipment types of MNPE will focus on offshore floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-powered icebreakers. To promote the high-quality development of MNPE, it is necessary to clarify the major application scenarios of MNPE in China through top-level planning, formulate regulations, specifications, and supervisory systems through demonstration projects to match with practical development demands, and achieve breakthroughs regarding key technologies such as the construction of marine reactor systems and nuclear power platform assemblies.
