Variable-separating-based Space Decomposition Algorithm of Production Scheduling

Gao Yongchao,Li Qiqiang,Ding Ran,Guo Qingqiang

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 9,   Pages 61-64

Abstract:

Most static production scheduling problems are formulated in MILP ( mixed integer linear programming) or MINLP(mixed integer non-linear programming) . It is difficult to find solutions of scheduling because of its large scale and combinatorial characters. According to the features of MIP (mixed integer programming), integral variables and continuous variables are separated and the searching space is decomposed naturally into many continuous subspaces of less scale. Taking a typical batch production scheduling as a case, the analysis shows that variable-separating strategy decreases the scale of continuous searching problem greatly and makes it easy to solve, which can improve the speed and efficiency of optimization.

Frontiers of Medicine 2008, Volume 2, Issue 3,   Pages 298-302 doi: 10.1007/s11684-008-0057-3

Abstract: In this study the effects of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) on the formation ofThe cells were further stimulated by ox-LDL, ox-LDL plus LPS, ox-LDL plus IL-10 and LPS.However, the significant elevation by LPS was abrogated when IL-10 was added.IL-10, an anti-inflammatory cytokine, can inhibit the effect of ox-LDL and LPS.The inhibitive effect of IL-10 is an important factor for delaying atherosclerosis processes.

FrepJoin: an efficient partition-based algorithm for edit similarity join Article

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 10,   Pages 1499-1510 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601347

Abstract: String similarity join (SSJ) is essential for many applications where near-duplicate objects need to be found. This paper targets SSJ with edit distance constraints. The existing algorithms usually adopt the filter-andrefine framework. They cannot catch the dissimilarity between string subsets, and do not fully exploit the statistics such as the frequencies of characters. We investigate to develop a partition-based algorithm by using such statistics. The frequency vectors are used to partition datasets into data chunks with dissimilarity between them being caught easily. A novel algorithm is designed to accelerate SSJ via the partitioned data. A new filter is proposed to leverage the statistics to avoid computing edit distances for a noticeable proportion of candidate pairs which survive the existing filters. Our algorithm outperforms alternative methods notably on real datasets.

Osteopontin is a promoter for hepatocellular carcinoma metastasis: a summary of 10 years of studies

Lunxiu Qin

Frontiers of Medicine 2014, Volume 8, Issue 1,   Pages 24-32 doi: 10.1007/s11684-014-0312-8

Abstract:

In this review, we summarize the novel findings from our series of studies on the leading metastasis-related gene, osteopontin (OPN). In our previous gene expression profiling study, OPN was identified as one of the leading genes associated with the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). We focused on OPN to evaluate its prognostic values and important roles in HCC metastasis. A retrospective study of large cohorts of HCC patients demonstrated that plasma OPN level was one of the leading independent prognostic factors for HCC patients, even in the early stage of HCC, and could serve as a surrogate serologic biomarker for monitoring the treatment response and tumor recurrence after HCC resection. Using both in vitro and in vivoinvestigations, we found that OPN has an important role in metastasis and tumor growth of HCC and is an attractive potential therapeutic target for combating HCC metastasis. We also found that OPN+ HCC cells have much more amplifications at chromosomal regions, and promoter polymorphisms are important in the regulation of OPN expression and tumor growth and lung metastasis of HCC.
