Wave Interaction with a Partial Porous Double-Wall Cylinder

Teng Bin,Li Yucheng,Sun Lu

Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 10,   Pages 41-47

Abstract:

A linear analytic solution is derived for wave interaetion with a combined cylinder with a solid interior column surrounded by a coaxial porous exterior column. The solution is established on an eigenfunction expansion of velocity potential and a linear model between the fluid velocity inside a porous wall and the pressure difference between two sides of the wall. Numerical experiments have been carried out to examine the wave force and wave run-up on combined porous cylinders with different porous coefficient, porous section, and ratio between the radii of the interior and exterior columns. It is found that the porous rate of the exterior wall and the size of the porous section have a significant influence on the wave run-up and wave loads on cylinders. Cylinders with whole porous section on the outer column are more suitable for reducing wave loads and wave run-up on cylinders.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 4,   Pages 471-487 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000489

Abstract: The deployment of millimeter-wave (mmWave) cellular systems in dense urban environments with an acceptable coverage and cost-efficient transmission scheme is essential for the rollout of fifth-generation and beyond technology. In this paper, cluster-based analysis of mmWave channel characteristics in two typical dense urban environments is performed. First, radio campaigns are conducted in two identified mmWave bands of 28 and 39 GHz in a central business district and a dense residential area. The custom-designed channel sounder supports high-efficiency directional scanning sounding, which helps collect sufficient data for statistical channel modeling. Next, using an improved auto- algorithm, multipath clusters and their scattering sources are identified. An appropriate measure for inter- and intra-cluster characteristics is provided, which includes the cluster number, the Ricean -factor, root-mean-squared (RMS) delay spread, RMS angular spread, and their correlations. Comparisons of these parameters across two mmWave bands for both line-of-sight (LoS) and non-light-of-sight (NLoS) links are given. To shed light on the blockage effects, detailed analysis of the propagation mechanisms corresponding to each NLoS cluster is provided, including reflection from exterior walls and over building corners and rooftops. Finally, the results show that the cluster-based analysis takes full advantage of mmWave beamspace channel characteristics and has further implications for the design and deployment of mmWave wireless networks.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 6,   Pages 909-919 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100109

Abstract:

The tracking problem for (UAVs) is considered in this paper, where fixed-wing UAVs are modeled as unicycle-type agents with asymmetrical speed constraints. A group of UAVs are required to generate and track a time-varying target formation obtained by affinely transforming a nominal formation. To handle this problem, a distributed control law based on stress matrix is proposed under the leader-follower control scheme. It is proved, theoretically, that followers can converge to the desired positions and achieve affine transformations while tracking diverse trajectories. Furthermore, a saturated control strategy is proposed to meet the speed constraints of fixed-wing UAVs, and numerical simulations are executed to verify the effectiveness of our proposed tracking control strategy in improving maneuverability.

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 1,   Pages 57-63

Abstract:

Environmental isotope 2H, 18O and 3H, temperature and electric conductivity had been used to analyze bypass abutment seepage flow of Xin'anjiang right dam. Environmental isotope data on the right dam indicate the existence of bypass seepage flow in rock. The seepage water from the drainage gallery boreholes is not only from mountain precipitation but also from reservoir water that leak bypassing the right abutment. The reason of uplift cell 3E1-1 increasing is the result of the leakage from the fault F0. There is no seepage from reservoir to the grouted gallery through fault F1 under No. 6 and No. 7 dam section. Given the tritium is about 19.54 TU, the leakage water of G7-4 borehole comes from local precipitation of right dam. Part of reservoir water is proved to exist in the observation wells of right dam abutment. The data of environment also testified the result from the artificial tracer method.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900601

Abstract: We deal with event-triggered controller design for discrete-time s subject to . By considering saturation information, a novel event-triggered strategy is proposed to conserve communication resources. A based condition is derived based on a piecewise Lyapunov function. This condition guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system with a certain index and reduces the number of transmitted signals. Numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of our method.

Abstract:

This paper introduces the development history of the project design of spaceflight launching site in China and the main forms used in the design, and points out that there shouldn't exist only one fixed mode for the spacecraft launch. China should, according to its national condition, design and build the launching project facility and device that correspond to the technology development of spacecraft and carrier rocket.

An efficient bi-objective optimization framework for statistical chip-level yield analysis under parameter variations

Xin LI,Jin SUN,Fu XIAO,Jiang-shan TIAN

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 2,   Pages 160-172 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500168

Abstract:

With shrinking technology, the increase in variability of process, voltage, and temperature (PVT) parameters significantly impacts the yield analysis and optimization for chip designs. Previous yield estimation algorithms have been limited to predicting either timing or power yield. However, neglecting the correlation between power and delay will result in significant yield loss. Most of these approaches also suffer from high computational complexity and long runtime. We suggest a novel bi-objective optimization framework based on Chebyshev affine arithmetic (CAA) and the adaptive weighted sum (AWS) method. Both power and timing yield are set as objective functions in this framework. The two objectives are optimized simultaneously to maintain the correlation between them. The proposed method first predicts the guaranteed probability bounds for leakage and delay distributions under the assumption of arbitrary correlations. Then a power-delay bi-objective optimization model is formulated by computation of cumulative distribution function (CDF) bounds. Finally, the AWS method is applied for power-delay optimization to generate a well-distributed set of Pareto-optimal solutions. Experimental results on ISCAS benchmark circuits show that the proposed bi-objective framework is capable of providing sufficient trade-off information between power and timing yield.

Application of direct adaptive fuzzy slidingmode control into a class of non-affine discrete nonlinear systems Article

Xiao-yu ZHANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 12,   Pages 1331-1343 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500318

Abstract: Direct adaptive fuzzy sliding mode control design for discrete non-affine nonlinear systems is presented for trajectory tracking problems with disturbance. To obtain adaptiveness and eliminate chattering of sliding mode control, a dynamic fuzzy logical system is used to implement an equivalent control, in which the parameters are self-tuned online. Stability of the sliding mode control is validated using the Lyapunov analysis theory. The overall system is adaptive, asymptotically stable, and chattering-free. A numerical simulation and an application to a robotic arm with two degrees of freedom further verify the good performance of the control design.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 9,   Pages 1305-1319 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601253

Abstract: We introduce a novel strategy of designing a chaotic coveragepath planner for the mobile robot based on the Chebyshev map for achievingspecial missions. The designed chaotic path planner consists of atwo-dimensional Chebyshev map which is constructed by two one-dimensionalChebyshev maps. The performance of the time sequences which are generatedby the planner is improved by arcsine transformation to enhance thechaotic characteristics and uniform distribution. Then the coveragerate and randomness for achieving the special missions of the robotare enhanced. The chaotic Chebyshev system is mapped into the feasibleregion of the robot workplace by affine transformation. Then a universalalgorithm of coverage path planning is designed for environments withobstacles. Simulation results show that the constructed chaotic pathplanner can avoid detection of the obstacles and the workplace boundaries, and runs safely in the feasible areas. The designed strategy is ableto satisfy the requirements of randomness, coverage, and high efficiencyfor special missions.

Engineering 2022, Volume 8, Issue 1,   Pages 138-147 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.08.001

Abstract:

Multifunctional fillers are greatly required for dental resin composites (DRCs). In this work, a spray dryer with a three-fluid nozzle was applied for the first time to construct high-performance complex nanoparticle clusters (CNCs) consisting of different functional nanofillers for dental restoration. The application of a three-fluid nozzle can effectively avoid the aggregation of different nanoparticles with opposite zeta potentials before the spray drying process in order to construct regularly shaped CNCs. For a SiO2–ZrO2 binary system, the SiO2–ZrO2 CNCs constructed using a three-fluid nozzle maintained their excellent mechanical properties ((133.3 ± 4.7) MPa, (8.8 ± 0.5) GPa, (371.1 ± 13.3) MPa, and (64.5 ± 0.7) HV for flexural strength, flexural modulus, compressive strength, and hardness of DRCs, respectively), despite the introduction of ZrO2 nanoparticles, whereas their counterparts constructed using a two-fluid nozzle showed significantly decreased mechanical properties. Furthermore, heat treatment of the SiO2–ZrO2 CNCs significantly improved the mechanical properties and radiopacity of the DRCs. The DRCs containing over 10% mass fraction ZrO2 nanoparticles can meet the requirement for radiopaque fillers. More importantly, this method can be expanded to ternary or quaternary systems. DRCs filled with SiO2–ZrO2–ZnO CNCs with a ratio of 56:10:4 displayed high antibacterial activity (antibacterial ratio > 99%) in addition to excellent mechanical properties and radiopacity. Thus, the three-fluid nozzle spray drying technique holds great potential for the efficient construction of multifunctional cluster fillers for DRCs.
