A random finite set based joint probabilistic data association filter with non-homogeneous Markov chain Research Articles

Yun Zhu, Shuang Liang, Xiaojun Wu, Honghong Yang,yunzhu@snnu.edu.cn,xjwu@snnu.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 8,   Pages 1114-1126 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000209

Abstract: We demonstrate a heuristic approach for optimizing the posterior density of the data association tracking algorithm via the random finite set (RFS) theory. Specifically, we propose an adjusted version of the joint probabilistic data association (JPDA) filter, known as the nearest-neighbor set JPDA (NNSJPDA). The target labels in all possible data association events are switched using a novel nearest-neighbor method based on the Kullback–Leibler divergence, with the goal of improving the accuracy of the marginalization. Next, the distribution of the target-label vector is considered. The transition matrix of the target-label vector can be obtained after the switching of the posterior density. This transition matrix varies with time, causing the propagation of the distribution of the target-label vector to follow a non-homogeneous . We show that the chain is inherently doubly stochastic and deduce corresponding theorems. Through examples and simulations, the effectiveness of NNSJPDA is verified. The results can be easily generalized to other data association approaches under the same RFS framework.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 1,   Pages 1-140 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000266

Abstract: In this study, we provide an overview of recent advances in multisensor based on the (RFS) approach. The fusion that plays a fundamental role in multisensor filtering is classified into data-level multitarget measurement fusion and estimate-level multitarget density fusion, which share and fuse local measurements and posterior densities between sensors, respectively. Important properties of each fusion rule including the optimality and sub-optimality are presented. In particular, two robust multitarget density-averaging approaches, arithmetic- and geometric-, are addressed in detail for various RFSs. Relevant research topics and remaining challenges are highlighted.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 7,   Pages 988-1001 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800394

Abstract:

Cross-eye jamming is an electronic attack technique that induces an angular error in the monopulse radar by artificially creating a false target and deceiving the radar into detecting and tracking it. Presently, there is no effective anti-jamming method to counteract cross-eye jamming. In our study, through detailed analysis of the jamming mechanism, a multi-target model for a cross-eye jamming scenario is established within a random finite set framework. A novel anti-jamming method based on multitarget tracking using probability hypothesis density filters is subsequently developed by combining the characteristic differences between target and jamming with the releasing process of jamming. The characteristic differences between target and jamming and the releasing process of jamming are used to optimize particle partitioning. Particle identity labels that represent the properties of target and jamming are introduced into the detection and tracking processes. The release of cross-eye jamming is detected by estimating the number of targets in the beam, and the distinction between true targets and false jamming is realized through correlation and transmission between labels and estimated states. Thus, accurate tracking of the true targets is achieved under severe jamming conditions. Simulation results showed that the proposed method achieves a minimum delay in detection of cross-eye jamming and an accurate estimation of the target state.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 9,   Pages 1302-1307 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900463

Abstract: The weighting subspace fitting (WSF) algorithm performs better than the multi-signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm in the case of low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and when signals are correlated. In this study, we use the (RMT) to improve WSF. RMT focuses on the asymptotic behavior of eigenvalues and eigenvectors of random matrices with dimensions of matrices increasing at the same rate. The approximative first-order perturbation is applied in WSF when calculating statistics of the eigenvectors of sample covariance. Using the asymptotic results of the norm of the projection from the sample covariance matrix onto the real signal in the , the method of calculating WSF is obtained. Numerical results are shown to prove the superiority of RMT in scenarios with few snapshots and a low SNR.

Abstract:

Gear preforming by cross wedge rolling is an original question for discussion, parameters such as deformation, temperature field and mechanical performance are looking forward to be researched. This paper ties the advantages of preforming by CWR and the principle of generated gear together, and the die suited for gear rolling has been designed. Based on the finite deformation theory, the coupled thermal-mechanical constitutive model of gear rolling by CWR has been established. Then FEM simulation for the forming process has been developed in MSC. SuperForm, and information gained from the simulation has been analyzed also in detail which provide references for further study of gear rolling by CWR technology.

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 4,   Pages 44-50

Abstract:

A new method of constructing fuzzy neural network is presented and Rough set theory is applied to this method. Since Rough set theory has strong numeric analyzing ability and fuzzy neural network has exact function approaching ability, their combination can produce a neural network model with good intelligibility and fast convergence. First, some rules are acquired from given data set by rough set theory. Then, these rules are applied to constructing neural cell numbers and relative parameters in fuzzy neural network. Finally the initial network is trained by BP arithmetic and the whole network design is finished. Also in this paper, an example of nonlinear function approaching is discussed and the feasibility of this method is proved.

Abstract:

2DLDA algorithm is based on2D matrices and overleaps the step of transforming the matrices into the corresponding vectors, which is done on conventional LDA algorithm. However, performance of recognition rate may always be degraded by the overlapping(outlier)samples et al in the field of pattern recognition. How to avoid these shortcomings and extract optimal features to improve the performance of recognition is a key step. In this paper,a new2DLDA algorithm, named fuzzy2DLDA,is proposed.Fuzzy k-nearest neighbour(FKNN) is implemented first to achieve the distribution information of original samples represented with fuzzy membership degrees and is incorporated into the process of feature extraction. The proposed algorithm inherits the virtue of conventional2DLDA and suppresses the shortcoming resulted by overlappin g(outlier)samples et al. Experimental results on AT&T face database demonstrate rec ognition rates of the proposed algorithm outperform that of conventional2DLDA and fisherface.

Engineering 2022, Volume 17, Issue 10,   Pages 123-139 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.03.030

Abstract:

In this study, through experimental research and an investigation on large datasets of the durability parameters in ocean engineering, the values, ranges, and types of distribution of the durability parameters employed for the durability design in ocean engineering in northern China were confirmed. Based on a modified theoretical model of chloride diffusion and the reliability theory, the service lives of concrete structures exposed to the splash, tidal, and underwater zones were calculated. Mixed concrete proportions meeting the requirement of a service life of 100 or 120 years were designed, and a cover thickness requirement was proposed. In addition, the effects of the different time-varying relationships of the boundary condition (Cs) and diffusion coefficient (Df) on the service life were compared; the results showed that the time-varying relationships used in this study (i.e., Cs continuously increased and then remained stable, and D continuously decreased and then remained stable) were beneficial for the durability design of concrete structures in marine environment.

Abstract: In this study, the control of s with region constraints is studied. Multiple agents have first-order dynamics and a common target area. A novel control algorithm is proposed using local information and interaction. If the communication graph is undirected and connected and the desired framework is rigid, it is proved that the controller can be used to solve the formation problem with a target area. That is, all agents can enter the desired region in finite time while reaching and maintaining the desired formation shapes. Finally, a numerical example is given to illustrate the results.

Abstract:

In order to enlarge the field of application, reduce the cost of software rejuvenation and improve software availability and reliability, the adaptive software rejuvenation with fine rejuvenation granularity of object-oriented software system would be put forward. Based on the characteristics of the component and coupling relation between the components of the system, this paper determines the finest rejuvenation granularity, analyzes the degree of the coupling relation, sets down a method to calculate the restart dependence and its degree of the components,so that determines the restart reachable set of each component and gets the restart gather of the components at every granularity, and finally sets down and models the adaptive nested software rejuvenation policy. So executing intelligent software rejuvenation at fine rejuvenation granularity in the object-oriented software system can be supported.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 2,   Pages 253-264 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1700462

Abstract:

Classification of intertidal area in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images is an important yet challenging issue when considering the complicatedly and dramatically changing features of tidal fluctuation. The difficulty of intertidal area classification is compounded because a high proportion of this area is frequently flooded by water, making statistical modeling methods with spatial contextual information often ineffective. Because polarimetric entropy and anisotropy play significant roles in characterizing intertidal areas, in this paper we propose a novel unsupervised contextual classification algorithm. The key point of the method is to combine the generalized extreme value (GEV) statistical model of the polarization features and the Markov random field (MRF) for contextual smoothing. A goodness-of-fit test is added to determine the significance of the components of the statistical model. The final classification results are obtained by effectively combining the results of polarimetric entropy and anisotropy. Experimental results of the polarimetric data obtained by the Chinese Gaofen-3 SAR satellite demonstrate the feasibility and superiority of the proposed classification algorithm.
