Study on forced air convection cooling for electronic assemblies

摘要: The slotted fin concept was employed to improve the air cooling performance of plate-fin in heat sinks. Numerical simulations of laminar heat transfer and flow pressure drop were conducted for the integral plate fin, discrete plate fin and discrete slotted fin heat sinks. It is found that the performance of the discrete plate fin is better than that of the integral continuum plate fin and the performance of slotted fin is better than that of the discrete plate fin at the same pumping power of the fan. A new type of heat sink characterized by discrete and slotted fin surfaces with thinner fins and smaller spaces between fins is then proposed. Preliminary computation shows that this type of heat sink may be useful for the next generation of higher thermal load CPUs. The limit of cooling capacity for air-cooling techniques was also addressed.

Spectral element modeling based structure piezoelectric impedance computation and damage identification

摘要: This paper presents a numerical simulation study on electromechanical impedance technique for structural damage identification. The basic principle of impedance based damage detection is structural impedance will vary with the occurrence and development of structural damage, which can be measured from electromechanical admittance curves acquired from PZT patches. Therefore, structure damage can be identified from the electromechanical admittance measurements. In this study, a model based method that can identify both location and severity of structural damage through the minimization of the deviations between structural impedance curves and numerically computed response is developed. The numerical model is set up using the spectral element method, which is promised to be of high numerical efficiency and computational accuracy in the high frequency range. An optimization procedure is then formulated to estimate the property change of structural elements from the electric admittance measurement of PZT patches. A case study on a pin-pin bar is conducted to investigate the feasibility of the proposed method. The results show that the presented method can accurately identify bar damage location and severity even when the measurements are polluted by 5% noise.

Iteration framework for solving mixed lubrication computation problems

摘要: The general discrete scheme of time-varying Reynolds equation loses the information of the previous step, which makes it unreasonable. A discretization formula of the Reynolds equation, which is based on the Crank–Nicolson method, is proposed considering the physical message of the previous step. Gauss–Seidel relaxation and distribution relaxation are adopted for the linear operators of pressure during the numerical solution procedure. In addition to the convergent criteria of pressure distribution and load, an estimation framework is developed to investigate the relative error of the most important term in the Reynolds equation. Smooth surface with full contacts and mixed elastohydrodynamic lubrication is tested for validation. The asperity contact and sinusoidal wavy surface are examined by the proposed discrete scheme. Results show the precipitous decline in the boundary of the contact area. The relative error suggests that the pressure distribution is reliable and reflects the accuracy and effectiveness of the developed method.

Scientific computation of big data in real-world clinical research

摘要:

The advent of the big data era creates both opportunities and challenges for traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). This study describes the origin, concept, connotation, and value of studies regarding the scientific computation of TCM. It also discusses the integration of science, technology, and medicine under the guidance of the paradigm of real-world, clinical scientific research. TCM clinical diagnosis, treatment, and knowledge were traditionally limited to literature and sensation levels; however, primary methods are used to convert them into statistics, such as the methods of feature subset optimizing, multi-label learning, and complex networks based on complexity, intelligence, data, and computing sciences. Furthermore, these methods are applied in the modeling and analysis of the various complex relationships in individualized clinical diagnosis and treatment, as well as in decision-making related to such diagnosis and treatment. Thus, these methods strongly support the real-world clinical research paradigm of TCM.

Multiscale computation on feedforward neural network and recurrent neural network

摘要: Homogenization methods can be used to predict the effective macroscopic properties of materials that are heterogenous at micro- or fine-scale. Among existing methods for homogenization, computational homogenization is widely used in multiscale analyses of structures and materials. Conventional computational homogenization suffers from long computing times, which substantially limits its application in analyzing engineering problems. The neural networks can be used to construct fully decoupled approaches in nonlinear multiscale methods by mapping macroscopic loading and microscopic response. Computational homogenization methods for nonlinear material and implementation of offline multiscale computation are studied to generate data set. This article intends to model the multiscale constitution using feedforward neural network (FNN) and recurrent neural network (RNN), and appropriate set of loading paths are selected to effectively predict the materials behavior along unknown paths. Applications to two-dimensional multiscale analysis are tested and discussed in detail.

Emergency design framework: a satellite preliminary scheme design

摘要: The emergency design of mechanical products or equipment (such as a satellite) is significant for disaster relief when the natural disasters occur. Most of us are unaware about the little information that is available in literature about emergency designs. Against the background of the preliminary scheme design of satellite payloads, emergency design was studied in the case of natural disasters. We presented some definitions about emergency design. Then, we proposed the basic ideas of how to realize the emergency design. These ideas were inspired by two aspects: 1) the evolutionary algorithms, the agent, the human-computer cooperation, and the collaborative design theory; 2) the emergency behaviors in ant colonies. Following the ideas, first we constructed the human computer cooperation agents (hereinafter called the HC-Agents) that combine the human intelligence with evolutionary algorithms. These HC-Agents had specific features like the division of labor in the ant colony. Second, we developed the multiagents cooperative design system on the basis of a hybrid P2P (peer-to-peer) model. Therefore, the emergency design system has shown some capabilities, such as anti-interference, adaptation, and rapid response.

Analytical model and finite element computation of braking torque in electromagnetic retarder

摘要:

An analytical model has been developed for analyzing the braking torque in electromagnetic retarder by flux tube and armature reaction method. The magnetic field distribution in air gap, the eddy current induced in the rotor and the braking torque are calculated by the developed model. Two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element models for retarder have also been developed. Results from the analytical model are compared with those from finite element models. The validity of these three models is checked by the comparison of the theoretical predictions and the measurements from an experimental prototype. The influencing factors of braking torque have been studied.

Design and preliminary evaluation of an exoskeleton for upper limb resistance training

Resistance training is a popular form of exercise recommended by national health organizations, such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the American Heart Association (AHA). This form of training is available for most populations. A compact design of upper limb exoskeleton mechanism for home-based resistance training using a spring-loaded upper limb exoskeleton with a three degree-of-freedom shoulder joint and a one degree-of-freedom elbow joint allows a patient or a healthy individual to move the upper limb with multiple joints in different planes. It can continuously increase the resistance by adjusting the spring length to train additional muscle groups and reduce the number of potential injuries to upper limb joints caused by the mass moment of inertia of the training equipment. The aim of this research is to perform a preliminary evaluation of the designed function by adopting an appropriate motion analysis system and experimental design to verify our prototype of the exoskeleton and determine the optimal configuration of the spring-loaded upper limb exoskeleton.

A preliminary analysis and discussion of the condominium building collapse in surfside, Florida, US,

摘要: On June 24, 2021, a 40-year-old reinforced concrete flat plate structure building in Miami suffered a sudden partial collapse. This study analyzed the overall performance and key components of the collapsed building based on the building design codes (ACI-318 and GB 50010). Punching shear and post-punching performances of typical slab-column joints are also studied through the refined finite element analysis. The collapse process was simulated and visualized using a physics engine. By way of these analyses, weak design points of the collapsed building are highlighted. The differences between the reinforcement detailing of the collapsed building and the requirements of the current Chinese code are discussed, together with a comparison of the punching shear and post-punching performances. The simulated collapse procedure and debris distribution are compared with the actual collapse scenes.

A preliminary research on wireless cantilever beam vibration sensor in bridge health monitoring

摘要: According to specific bridge environment, optimal design piezoelectric cantilever beam structure by using results of theoretical calculations and simulation, verify natural frequencies of piezoelectric cantilever beam and production ability of data by experiment, thus formed a complete set of design method of piezoelectric cantilever beam. Considering natural frequency of vibration and intensity of the beam body, design a new type of piezoelectric cantilever beam structure. Paper analyzes the principle of sensor data acquisition and transmission, design a hardware integration system include signal conversion module, microcontroller module and wireless transmission module, test local read and wireless transmission for the combination structure of cantilever beam and data collection card, experimental verification of the radio piezoelectric vibrating cantilever vibration response is intact, the beam produced signal by vibration, acquisition card converts and wireless transmit data, this proved a good and intuitive linear response in simulation of bridge vibration test. Finally, the paper designed a kind of new wireless sensor of vibration cantilever beam, suitable for small bridge health monitoring based on Internet of things.

面向物联网的激励感知区块链辅助的智能边缘缓存与计算迁移研究 Article

人工智能的快速发展将物联网推向了一个新阶段,面对数据的爆炸性增长和用户对更高服务质量的迫切需求,边缘计算和缓存被视为富有前景的技术解决手段。然而,边缘节点(Edge Nodes, ENs)中的资源并不是取之不尽的。本文提出了一种面向物联网的激励感知区块链辅助的智能边缘缓存与计算迁移方案,该方案致力于为协作ENs在资源优化和控制方面提供安全和智能的解决方案。具体地,该方案通过联合优化迁移和缓存决策以及计算和通信资源分配,以最大限度地降低EN中完成任务的总成本。此外,为解决上述优化问题,本文设计了区块链激励和贡献联合感知的联邦深度强化学习算法。在本地训练期间,该算法构建了一个激励感知区块链辅助的协作机制,即在安全保障前提下增强ENs参与协作的意愿。同时,提出了一种基于贡献的联邦聚合方法,即基于EN对全局模型性能提升所做贡献来计算其梯度的聚合权重,以提升训练效果。最后,与其它基准方案相比,数值结果证明本文方案具备高效的资源优化效用,同时在降低总成本和缓存性能方面具有显著优势。

The study of hybrid model identification, computation analysis and fault location for nonlinear dynamic

摘要: This paper presents the hybrid model identification for a class of nonlinear circuits and systems via a combination of the block-pulse function transform with the Volterra series. After discussing the method to establish the hybrid model and introducing the hybrid model identification, a set of relative formulas are derived for calculating the hybrid model and computing the Volterra series solution of nonlinear dynamic circuits and systems. In order to significantly reduce the computation cost for fault location, the paper presents a new fault diagnosis method based on multiple preset models that can be realized online. An example of identification simulation and fault diagnosis are given. Results show that the method has high accuracy and efficiency for fault location of nonlinear dynamic circuits and systems.
