A novel method for PAPR reduction of the OFDM signal using nonlinear scaling and FM Regular Article

Yi-hu Xu, Jung-Yeol Oh, Zhen-hao Sun, Myoung-Seob Lim,xuyh@ybu.edu.cn,mslim@jbnu.ac.kr

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 11,   Pages 1587-1594 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800438

Abstract: (OFDM) has been adopted as standard beginning with the 4 generation mobile communication system because of its high-bit-rate transmission capability under frequency selective fading channel conditions. However, a major disadvantage of OFDM is the non-constant envelope signal with a high (PAPR). The high peak signal in OFDM is distorted through a nonlinear amplifier, which causes bit error ratio (BER) reduction. Many techniques have been developed for reducing PAPR at the cost of inefficient bandwidth usage or throughput because of the additional information about PAPR reduction. We propose a novel method, in which the high peak signal above the threshold of the nonlinear amplification region is nonlinearly downscaled to lower the PAPR. The time slot location and scaling ratio for where and how the high peak baseband OFDM signal is downscaled are transmitted using (FM) combined with OFDM, which requires less additional bandwidth than the previously proposed methods. Simulation results show that the proposed novel method provides a lower PAPR and elicits a better BER performance compared with other conventional methods, because it reduces the PAPR by and restores the pre-distorted signal using FM.

Standard-independent I/Q imbalance estimation and compensation scheme inOFDM direct-conversion transceivers None

Fang-lin GU, Shan WANG, Wen-wu WANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2018, Volume 19, Issue 3,   Pages 388-397 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1700003

Abstract: Direct-conversion transceivers are gaining increasing attention due to their low power consumption. However, they suffer from a serious in- and quadrature-phase (I/Q) imbalance problem. The I/Q imbalance can severely limit the achievable operating signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) at the receiver and, consequently, the supported constellation sizes and data rates. In this paper, we first investigate the effects of I/Q imbalance on orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) receivers, and then propose a new I/Q imbalance compensation scheme. In the proposed method, a new statistic, which is robust against channel distortion, is used to estimate the I/Q imbalance parameters, and then the I/Q imbalance is corrected in the frequency domain. Simulations are performed to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method for I/Q imbalance compensation. The results show that the proposed I/Q imbalance compensation method can achieve bit error rate (BER) performance close to that in the ideal case without I/Q imbalance in additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) or multipath environments. Furthermore, because no pilot information is required, this method can be applied in various standard communication systems.

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 8,   Pages 45-49

Abstract:

The fractal-dimension theory and the Shannom entropy theory of nonlinear science are briefly described, and the methods to apply them to analyze AF's information are developed. The grid-dimension values and the Shannom entropy values of P-wave and those of f-wave are computed. The comparison of the remarkable difference between values of these two kinds of waves is given so as to easily determine whether AF happens or not.

An End to End Modulating Transmission Scheme With Good Robustness Against the RPE-LTP Vocoder

Chen Liquan,Hu Aiqun,Xu Qing and Yang Xiaohui

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 12,   Pages 81-85

Abstract:

A novel endtoend data transmission scheme based on OFDM mechanism with good robustness against the RPE-LTP vocoder in GSM voice channel is proposed. According to the character of RPE-LTP vocoder, data are modulated to orthogonal lowfrequency sinusoidal carrier. In OFDM, the modulation is done by IFFT and the modulated signals are conformed to the time and frequency characters of RPELTP vocoder. The results of simulation show that the transmission bit rate of the proposed scheme reaches 2.4 kb/s,and the bit error rate of the scheme is lower than 0.3 %. This scheme provides a new approach for realtime secure voice data transmission over GSM system.

A novel energy-efficient ICI cancellation technique for bandwidth improvements through cyclic prefix reuse in an OFDM system Article

Sandeep SAROWA, Harmanjeet SINGH, Sunil AGRAWAL, B. S. SOHI

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 11,   Pages 1892-1899 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601333

Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), a very promising technique that is leading the evolution in wireless mobile communication to sideline the bandwidth scarcity issue in spectrum allocation, is severely affected by the undesirable effects of the frequency offset error, which generates inter carrier interference (ICI) due to the Doppler shift and local oscillator frequency synchronization errors. There are many ICI cancellation techniques available in the literature, such as self-cancellation (SC), maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), and windowing, but they present a tradeoff between bandwidth redundancy and system complexity. In this study, a new energy-efficient, bandwidth-effective technique is proposed to mitigate ICI through cyclic prefix (CP) reuse at the receiver end. Unlike SC and MLE where the whole OFDM symbol data is transmitted in duplicate to create redundancy at the transmitter end, the proposed technique uses the CP data (which is only 20% of the total symbol bandwidth) to estimate the channel, and it produces similar results with a huge bandwidth saving. The simulation results show that the proposed technique has a significant improvement in error performance, and a comparative analysis demonstrates the substantial improvement in energy efficiency with high bandwidth gain. Therefore, it outperforms the legacy ICI cancellation schemes under consideration.

Event-triggered adaptive finite-time control for nonlinear systems under asymmetric time-varying state constraints Research Article

Yan Wei, Jun Luo, Huaicheng Yan, Yueying Wang,wyy676@126.com

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 12,   Pages 1551-1684 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000692

Abstract: This paper investigates the issue of event-triggered adaptive state-constrained control for multi-input multi-output uncertain nonlinear systems. To prevent asymmetric time-varying from being violated, a tan-type is established to transform the considered system into an equivalent “non-constrained” system. By employing a smooth switch function in the virtual control signals, the singularity in the traditional dynamic surface control can be avoided. Fuzzy logic systems are used to compensate for the unknown functions. A suitable event-triggering rule is introduced to determine when to transmit the control laws. Through Lyapunov analysis, the closed-loop system is proved to be semi-globally practical stable, and the are never violated. Simulations are provided to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Xiaoyan LIN, Zhizhong TAN

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 2,   Pages 289-298 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200360

Abstract: In this paper, two different -order topological circuit networks are connected by diodes to establish a unified network model, which is a previously unexplored problem. The network model includes not only five resistive elements but also diode devices, so the network contains many different network types. This problem can be solved through three main steps: First, the network is simplified into two different equivalent circuit models. Second, the model is established by applying Kirchhoff’s law. Finally, the two equations with similar structures are processed uniformly, and the general solutions of the s are obtained by using the transformation technique. As an example, several interesting specific results are deduced. Our study on the network model has significant value, as it can be applied to relevant interdisciplinary research.

Abstract: obtains high-resolution radar images by synthesizing multiple narrowband chirp pulses. It has been one of the most commonly used waveforms due to its lower demand for radar instant bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a method using two-dimensional against imaging radar. Using the unique property of , the proposed method can generate high-level sidelobes that perform as a special blanket jamming along both the range and azimuth directions and make the target unrecognizable. Then, the influence of different modulation parameters, such as the code width and duty ratio, are further discussed. Based on this, the corresponding parameter design principles are presented. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is demonstrated by the Yake-42 plane data simulation and measured unmanned aerial vehicle data experiment.

Ruheng Shi, Cheng Jin, Chi Liu, Lingjie Kong,konglj@tsinghua.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 10,   Pages 1289-1298 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000410

Abstract: To maximize signal collection in nonlinear optical microscopy, non-descanned epi-detection is generally adopted for in vivo imaging. However, because of severe scattering in biological samples, most of the emitted fluorescence photons go beyond the collection angles of objectives and thus cannot be detected. Here, we propose an extended detection scheme to enhance the collection of scattered photons in using a ahead of the front apertures of objectives. We perform numerical simulations to demonstrate the enhanced fluorescence collection via in the multi-photon fluorescence imaging of human skin and mouse brain through craniotomy windows and intact skulls. For example, with red fluorescence emission at a depth of 600 μm in human skin, the increased collection can be as much as about 150% with a 10×, 0.6-NA objective. We show that is a generally applicable, feasible technique for use in to enhance signal detection.

Zhang Jianmin,Xiao Rucheng

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 5,   Pages 36-41

Abstract:

Because of the increasing span of concrete cable-stayed bridge,  the construction simulation recently becomes more focusing on both the design and construction.  This paper introduces the optimization theory and method into the calculation of cantilever construction of girders. The example bridge is a long-span prestressed concrete cable-stayed bridge with a 370 m central span length under construction in China. Using spatial nonlinear FEM,  the actual cantilever construction process of concrete box-shaped girders is simulated,  the tensioning force of cables as well as the prearranged height of girders in construction state is obtained. At the same time, the influence of structural geometric nonlinear characteristics and physics nonlinear characteristics in the cable force optimum are investigated,  the measures to reduce the influence are put forward.
