Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 11,   Pages 1535-1670 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000083

Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the secrecy outage performance in (SWIPT) systems taking assistance into account. Multiple antennas in the source and a single antenna in both the legitimate receiver and the eavesdropper are assumed. Specifically, the transmitted signal at the source is composed of two parts, where the first part is the information symbols and the other is the noise for the eavesdropper. To avoid making noise in the legitimate receiver, these two parts in the transmitted signals are modulated into two orthogonal dimensions according to the instantaneous channel state between the source and the legitimate receiver. We derive an approximate closed-form expression for the (SOP) by adopting the Gauss-Laguerre quadrature (GLQ) method, where the gap between the exact SOP and our approximate SOP converges with increase of the summation terms in the GLQ. To obtain the secrecy diversity order and secrecy array gain for the considered SWIPT system, the asymptotic result of the SOP is also derived. This is tight in the high signal-to-noise ratio region. A novel and robust SOP approximation is also analyzed given a small variance of the signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio at the eavesdropper. Some selected Monte-Carlo numerical results are presented to validate the correctness of the derived closed-form expressions.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 6,   Pages 767-800 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100443

Abstract: Ground-breaking (OWPT) techniques have gained significant attention from both academia and industry in recent decades. Powering remote systems through s (LDs) to either operate devices or recharge batteries offers several benefits. Remote LDs can remove the burden of carrying extra batteries and can reduce mission time by removing battery swap-time and charging. Apart from its appealing benefits, laser power transfer (LPT) is still a challenging task due to its low transfer efficiency. In this paper, we discuss the necessity and feasibility of OWPT and discuss several projects, working principle, system design, and components. In addition, we show that OWPT is an essential element to supply power to Internet-of-Things (IoT) terminals. We also highlight the impacts of dynamic OWPT. We outline several OWPT techniques including optical beamforming, (DLC), adaptive-DLC (ADLC), simultaneous lightwave information and power transfer (SLIPT), Thing-to-Thing (T2T) OWPT, and high intensity laser power beaming (HILPB). We also deal with laser selection, hazard analysis, and received photovoltaic (PV) cell selection for OWPT systems. Finally, we discuss a range of open challenges and counter measures. We believe that this review will be helpful in integrating research and eliminating technical uncertainties, thereby promoting progress and innovation in the development of OWPT technologies.

Tayyab MEHMOOD, Hina QAYYUM, Salman GHAFOOR

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 2,   Pages 300-306 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1700056

Abstract:

A radio-over-fiber (RoF) distributed antenna system (DAS) architecture is proposed, where millimeter wave (mm-wave) signals are transmitted to four different radio access units (RAUs) arranged in a ring topology. The proposed architecture transmits duplex data of 128 Mb/s to each RAU in both downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) directions. The radio frequency (RF) signals are transmitted by polarization multiplexing a multi-wavelength source. Millimeter-wave signals at a frequency of 25 GHz are generated at each RAU using remote heterodyne detection. The proposed architecture provides increased coverage while maintaining good bit error rate (BER) results.

Zhang Xue

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 4,   Pages 32-38

Abstract:

In order to efficiently and effectively control the use of wireless network resources, in this paper, according to the characteristic of adaptive multimedia applications in which bandwidths can be adjusted dynamically, and the influence of pricing on the users' behavior, an adaptive admission control algorithm integrated with pricing is proposed. The algorithm, in with the price is adjusted dynamically based on the current network conditions, is fit for the multi-priorilies services. Attempt is tried to make best balance between the efficiency and simplicity for the pricing scheme. Comparison of the performance of the proposed approach is made with the corresponding results of conventional systems where pricing is not taken into consideration in CAC process. The performance results verify the considerable improvement achieved by the integration of pricing with CAC in wireless networks.

A deployment strategy for wireless sensor networks using indoor radio propagation model

Huo Hongwei,Gao Shuai,Niu Yanchao,Zhang Sidong

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 9,   Pages 64-69

Abstract:

Deployment strategy for Wireless Sensor Networks is an important issue. Most research works are based on the horizontal Scheme. However, many factors including the height of node's antenna, one of the vertical factors, can also affect the indoor communication performance of sensor nodes, which is a main consideration to design an appropriate deployment scheme. In this paper, the variance of coverage caused by the different antenna's height is analyzed, using log-distance indoor radio propagation model at 2.4GHz ISM band. The relationship between effective communication range and effective sensing range is also discussed. Based on traditional plane deployment strategies, a novel method is proposed to avoid the sensing collapsars. It first calculates the effective communication ranges, and eliminates the useless antenna's height parameter which can not affect the full coverage of sensing area and communication area. Then, it projects the residual height parameter to the plane and uses classical Deploy Rules to place the sensor nodes. Experiments and simulations indicate that this deployment strategy is useful and effective.
