Abstract: The era of big data in healthcare is here, and this era will significantly improve medicine and especially oncology. However, traditional machine learning algorithms need to be promoted to solve such large-scale real-world problems due to a large amount of data that needs to be analyzed and the difficulty in solving problems with nonconvex nonlinear settings. We aim to minimize the composite of a smooth nonlinear function and a block-separable nonconvex function on a large number of block variables with inequality constraints. We propose a novel parallel first-order optimization method, called asynchronous block coordinate descent with (ATP), which adopts a technique that escapes from saddle points and sub-optimal local points. The details of the proposed method are presented with analyses of convergence and iteration complexity properties. Experiments conducted on real-world machine learning problems validate the efficacy of our proposed method. The experimental results demonstrate that enables ATP to escape from saddle points and sub-optimal points, providing a promising way to handle nonconvex optimization problems with inequality constraints employing asynchronous block coordinate descent. The asynchronous parallel implementation on shared memory multi-core platforms indicates that the proposed algorithm, ATP, has strong scalability.

Strategic Study of CAE 2014, Volume 16, Issue 6,   Pages 39-45

Abstract:

The microwave scatterometer onboard HY-2A Satellite mainly makes measurements of surface wind vectors over the global oceans. In order to ensure that the quality of wind vectors produced by ground application system software, the product must be validated to provide the basis for the quantitative application of the data product. This paper performs the validation of wind vectorsretrieved by HY-2A scatterometer using national centers for environmental prediction (NCEP )model data. The validation result suggests that the validationmethod cangive the precision of the overall wind vectors, and also can be used to analyze the precision characteristics relating with thescanningpencil-beam system and the scatterometer measurement mechanism.Meanwhile the validation can aid to identify the short-term anomaly of measuring performance.

Strategic Study of CAE 2017, Volume 19, Issue 6,   Pages 18-26 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2017.06.004

Abstract:

Based on the explosion theory of point source, this study obtains the solution of a strong explosion of one-dimensional TNT point source charge, line source charge, and plate source charge blasting in a close-in flow field. Furthermore, this study investigates the propagation characteristic in the close-in field of a shock wave of the TNT spherical charge explosion in real air condition by using the dimensional state equations of real air and the detonation products of a TNT spherical charge. Based on the analysis of the examples, the study results are largely consistent with that of some existing literature. These research results provide an important reference for studying explosion mechanics and protection engineering.

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 4,   Pages 17-28

Abstract:

Karst constitutes one of the greatest landscape styles of the world and China is one of the places where its finest expressions can be seen. From the point of view of karst features and evolutional histories, and by comparative analysis on the three sites with worldwide similar karst areas under the eighth criterion of world heritage, the outstanding universal value is uncovered: Shilin stone forest in Yunnan is the most complicated in the evolution history richest in the forms, which represents a unique evolvement mechanism of stone forest development;which possesses not only the most typical karst cones, but also the most complex assemblages of the cone karst. Libo cone karst represents typical factors of cone karst landforms reflects geological evolvement models and processes in the tropical-subtropical continent; Wulong gorge karst shows integrally development and evolution system of the gorge karst, records evolutional forms of different phases of gorge karst, such as karst gorges, underground rivers, natural bridges, collapse dolines, caves and so on, and illustrats on-going evolution process on the neotectonic movement. As a result, south China karst (Phase 1) world heritage sites represent a long-term, multi-phased evolution history in south China since Paleozoic; the landform features of tropical-subtropical typical cone karst, stone forest karst and gorge karst; the development and evolution mechanism and on-going geological process of tropical-subtropical cone karst, stone forest karst and gorge karst landforms; and unique physical geography characters of the largest in the three vast karst areas in the world.

The Research on Measurement of Drift in the Evaluation Conclusion of Single Method

Chen Guohong,Li Meijuan,Chen Yantai

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 3,   Pages 58-63

Abstract:

In this paper drifting nature in the evaluation conclusion of single method is investigated in order to offer the experiment basis for combination evaluation. First, real evaluation problems are divided into 3 classes and emulation experiments are carried on them separately. Then, objects to be evaluated are generated by Matlab 6.1, and are evaluated by using different methods. Third, the compatibility of the comprehensive evaluation methods is discriminated. Finally, the average of the compatible methods is adopted as reference frame in order to measure drifting degree of each method quantitatively.

World Trend for Apple Cultivation——mproving Fruit Quality

Xue Shizhao

Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 6,   Pages 81-88

Abstract:

Shifting from quantity-orientation to quality-orientation is the world trend for apple cultivation. Old practice of mere pursuing high yield should be abandoned. We should target at best fruit quality, with an output of 30,000 kg per hectare, to maintain the healthy orchard development and sharpen its competition edge in international market.

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 9,   Pages 1-12

Abstract:

Based on prototype analysis of epidemic disease and ancient therapy (such as iron method, fire moxibustion and acupuncture therapy) , the author has explored the relationship between epidemic disease (especially bubonic plague) and medicine origin. From the point of view that medicine comes of epidemic disease, the author has conducted research on rich resources of Chinese cultural relics, ancient writing and medical literature on medicine history, including the difference between ancient name and modem name of disease, difference between TCM and Western medicine in terms of methodology. It would provide precious reference for the analysis and promotion of TCM achievement on epidemic disease and for the research on combination of TCM and Western medicine, sustainable development of TCM and international promotion of TCM.

Compliance Management of Overseas Operation of Chinese Construction Companies

Luo Min, Li Qiming

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 4,   Pages 87-96 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.04.010

Abstract:

Compliance management is indispensable for the globalization of Chinese construction companies and the sustainable development of their overseas operations. In this article, we introduce the World Bank Group sanctions system for funded projects, and summarize the control measures adopted by developed countries and international organizations against the multinational business operations of large companies. These measures are a technical reference for Chinese construction companies to master international rules and conduct international business. Subsequently, we analyze the noncompliance cases that occurred in overseas operations of Chinese construction companies in the 2009–2020 fiscal year in terms of basic characteristics and consequences. We also present several prominent issues, such as the gradual strengthening of international supervision, the poor business environment of the project host country, and the weak regulation by the home country on the overseas operation of construction companies. Furthermore, we suggest that China should encourage international cooperation, accelerate the establishment of legal systems such as criminal law and administrative supervision incentive mechanisms, integrate advanced technologies to conduct compliance guidance and supervision for construction companies, cultivate talents proficient in foreign-related compliance management, and improve the overseas operation level and compliance management capabilities of Chinese construction companies.
