Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 9,   Pages 49-54

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper was providing some experience and ready reference for people who could design a utile and abroad popular GPS vehicle monitoring system. The author demonstrated some problems existing in the vehicle monitoring system, such as digital map model errors lead to map matching errors; telecommunication system information lag results in vehicle real time position error and global position system multipath error affects vehicle position. The authors had provided some schemes for solving the problems,e. g. GIS/DR protocol for solving telecommunication system information lag, nerve cell for solving global position system multipath. Experiment showed that the solution schemes had eliminated the system errors. The solution schemes had been applied to some projects, and had acquired very good application effect.

Prior information based channel estimation for millimeter-wave massive MIMO vehicular communications in 5G and beyond Research Articles

Zhao Yi, Weixia Zou, Xuebin Sun,yz17tx@bupt.edu.cn,zwx0218@bupt.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 6,   Pages 777-789 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000515

Abstract: (mmWave) has been claimed as the viable solution for high-bandwidth s in 5G and beyond. To realize applications in future s, it is important to take a robust mmWave vehicular network into consideration. However, one challenge in such a network is that mmWave should provide an ultra-fast and high-rate data exchange among vehicles or vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I). Moreover, traditional real-time strategies are unavailable because vehicle mobility leads to a fast variation mmWave channel. To overcome these issues, a approach for mmWave V2I communications is proposed in this paper. Specifically, by considering a fast-moving vehicle secnario, a corresponding mathematical model for a fast channel is first established. Then, the temporal variation rule between the base station and each mobile user and the determined direction-of-arrival are used to predict the channel prior information (PI). Finally, by exploiting the PI and the characteristics of the channel, the channel is estimated. The simulation results show that the scheme in this paper outperforms traditional ones in both normalized mean square error and sum-rate performance in the mmWave vehicular system.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 6,   Pages 576-586 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500211

Abstract: To improve maneuverability and stability of articulated vehicles, we design an active steering controller, including tractor and trailer controllers, based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) theory. First, a three-degree-of-freedom (3-DOF) model of the tractor-trailer with steered trailer axles is built. The simulated annealing particle swarm optimization (SAPSO) algorithm is applied to identify the key parameters of the model under specified vehicle speed and steering wheel angle. Thus, the key parameters of the simplified model can be obtained according to the vehicle conditions using an online look-up table and interpolation. Simulation results show that vehicle parameter outputs of the simplified model and TruckSim agree well, thus providing the ideal reference yaw rate for the controller. Then the active steering controller of the tractor and trailer based on LQR is designed to follow the desired yaw rate and minimize their side-slip angle of the center of gravity (CG) at the same time. Finally, simulation tests at both low speed and high speed are conducted based on the TruckSim-Simulink program. The results show significant effects on the active steering controller on improving maneuverability at low speed and lateral stability at high speed for the articulated vehicle. The control strategy is applicable for steering not only along gentle curves but also along sharp curves.

Engineering 2023, Volume 22, Issue 3,   Pages 106-124 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2022.06.023

Abstract:

Terahertz (THz) technology is probably best known to the public as a powerful tool for imaging, since it has been applied in security and medical scanning, resulting in numerous impressive images that would be unobtainable using other technologies. With the roll-out of 5G mobile networks, research into 6G wireless communications is heating up. It is envisioned that THz technology will be used for 6G and future wireless communications. In this paper, we review how THz technology has been employed for imaging and wireless communications, identify state-of-the-art developments in the field, and then examine and compare common devices and issues in both applications. The possibility of integrating THz imaging/sensing and wireless communications is considered, and challenges and future perspectives are presented and discussed. It is shown that THz technology is indeed a key enabling technology for both imaging and wireless communications in the future.

Jinxin Liu, Yugong Luo, Zhihua Zhong, Keqiang Li, Heye Huang, Hui Xiong

Engineering 2022, Volume 19, Issue 12,   Pages 228-239 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.12.020

Abstract:

In mixed and dynamic traffic environments, accurate long-term trajectory forecasting of surrounding vehicles is one of the indispensable preconditions for autonomous vehicles (AVs) to accomplish reasonable behavioral decisions and guarantee driving safety. In this paper, we propose an integrated probabilistic architecture for long-term vehicle trajectory prediction, which consists of a driving inference model (DIM) and a trajectory prediction model (TPM). The DIM is designed and employed to accurately infer the potential driving intention based on a dynamic Bayesian network. The proposed DIM incorporates the basic traffic rules and multivariate vehicle motion information. To further improve the prediction accuracy and realize uncertainty estimation, we develop a Gaussian process (GP)-based TPM, considering both the short-term prediction results of the vehicle model and the driving motion characteristics. Afterward, the effectiveness of our novel approach is demonstrated by conducting experiments on a public naturalistic driving dataset under lane-changing scenarios. The superior performance on the task of long-term trajectory prediction is presented and verified by comparing with other advanced methods.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 7,   Pages 1062-1079 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200585

Abstract: We investigate a kind of in the car-sharing mobility environment, where the problem is based on user orders, and each order has a reservation time limit and two location point transitions, origin and destination. It is a typical extended vehicle routing problem (VRP) with both time and space constraints. We consider the VRPC problem characteristics and establish a vehicle scheduling model to minimize operating costs and maximize user (or passenger) experience. To solve the scheduling model more accurately, a spatiotemporal distance representation function is defined based on the temporal and spatial properties of the customer, and a spatiotemporal distance embedded hybrid ant colony algorithm (HACA-ST) is proposed. The algorithm can be divided into two stages. First, through spatiotemporal clustering, the spatiotemporal distance between users is the main measure used to classify customers in categories, which helps provide heuristic information for problem solving. Second, an improved ) is proposed to optimize the solution by combining a and the to obtain the final scheduling route. Computational analysis is carried out based on existing data sets and simulated urban instances. Compared with other heuristic algorithms, HACA-ST reduces the length of the shortest route by 2%–14% in benchmark instances. In VRPC testing instances, concerning the combined cost, HACA-ST has competitive cost compared to existing VRP-related algorithms. Finally, we provide two actual urban scenarios to further verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

An improved Merkle hash tree based secure scheme for bionic underwater acoustic communication Research Articles

Masoud Kaveh, Abolfazl Falahati,afalahati@iust.ac.ir

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 7,   Pages 1010-1019 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000043

Abstract: Recently, bionic signals have been used to achieve covert underwater acoustic communication (UWAC) with high signal-to-noise ratios (SNRs) over transmission systems. A high SNR allows the attackers to proceed with their mischievous goals and makes transmission systems vulnerable against malicious attacks. In this paper we propose an based secure scheme that can resist current underwater attacks, i.e., replay attack, fabricated message attack, message-altering attack, and analyst attack. Security analysis is performed to prove that the proposed scheme can resist these types of attacks. Performance evaluations show that the proposed scheme can meet UWAC limitations due to its efficiency regarding energy consumption, communication overhead, and computation cost.

Abstract: Heterogeneous ing integrates multiple types of communication networks to work efficiently for various vehicular applications. One popular form of heterogeneous network is the integration of long-term evolution (LTE) and dedicated short-range communication. The of such a network infrastructure and the non- involved in sharing cost/data are potential problems to solve. A ing framework is one solution to these problems, but the framework should be formally verified and validated before being deployed in the real world. To solve these issues, first, we present a heterogeneous framework, named destination and interest-aware clustering, for ing that integrates vehicular ad hoc networks with the LTE network for improving road traffic efficiency. Then, we specify a model system of the proposed framework. The model is formally verified to evaluate its performance at the functional level using a model checking technique. To evaluate the performance of the proposed framework at the micro-level, a heterogeneous simulation environment is created by integrating state-of-the-art tools. The comparison of the simulation results with those of other known approaches shows that our proposed framework performs better.
