The Technical Scheme and Key Equipment for Solving the Difficult Technical Problems of Underground Radio Communications

Abstract:

Two difficult tedhnical problems in underground radio communications, i.e. weak signal reception and counter lightning pulses interference are described, and ways to solve these problems are proposed . The design scheme of the telegraph terminal used for weak signal reception and counter lightning pulses interference is exhaustively studied. The performances of this terminal are analyzed, and results of laboratory measure and field tests are also given.

Efficient detection methods for amplify-and-forward relay-aided device-to-device systems with full-rate space-time block code Article

Abstract: Relay-aided device-to-device (D2D) communication is a promising technology for the next-generation cellular network. We study the transmission schemes for an amplify-and-forward relay-aided D2D system which has multiple antennas. To circumvent the prohibitive complexity problem of traditional maximum likelihood (ML) detection for full-rate space-time block code (FSTBC) transmission, two low-complexity detection methods are proposed, i.e., the detection methods with the ML-combining (MLC) algorithm and the joint conditional ML (JCML) detector. Particularly, the method with the JCML detector reduces detection delay at the cost of more storage and performs well with parallel implementation. Simulation results indicate that the proposed detection methods achieve a symbol error probability similar to that of the traditional ML detector for FSTBC transmission but with less complexity, and the performance of FSTBC transmission is significantly better than that of spatial multiplexing transmission. Diversity analysis for the proposed detection methods is also demonstrated by simulations.

A Multi-Layer Collaboration Framework for Industrial Parks with 5G Vehicle-to-Everything Networks Article

Abstract:

The fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication networks are expected to play an essential role in the transformation of vertical industries. Among many exciting applications to be enabled by 5G, logistics tasks in industry parks can be performed more efficiently via vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications. In this paper, a multi-layer collaboration framework enabled by V2X is proposed for logistics management in industrial parks. The proposed framework includes three layers: a perception and execution layer, a logistics layer, and a configuration layer. In addition to the collaboration among these three layers, this study addresses the collaboration among devices, edge servers, and cloud services. For effective logistics in industrial parks, task collaboration is achieved through four functions: environmental perception and map construction, task allocation, path planning, and vehicle movement. To dynamically coordinate these functions, device–edge–cloud collaboration, which is supported by 5G slices and V2X communication technology, is applied. Then, the analytical target cascading method is adopted to configure and evaluate the collaboration schemes of industrial parks. Finally, a logistics analytical case study in industrial parks is employed to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed collaboration framework.

Development Path of Offshore Drilling Equipment in China

Abstract:

China has made achievements in offshore drilling equipment, and it can now develop the shallow-water drilling rigs independently. However, as far as deep-water drilling equipment is concerned, there still exists a big gap between China and the international advanced level, which inevitably hinders the deep-water oilfield development in the country. To accelerate the development of China’s offshore drilling equipment, this study first analyzes the development status of the equipment in China and abroad from three aspects: shallow-water drilling machine, deep-water drilling machine, and new-type marine drilling machine; it then summarizes the development status in China and the gap between China and the international advanced level. Subsequently, it studies the key technologies for realizing the localization of the deep-water drilling equipment, and proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions. We propose that China should focus its efforts on making breakthroughs in the design, materials, technology, inspection, and sea test of the deep-water drilling rigs. To clarify the development path of the offshore drilling equipment, China should establish and improve the standards and specifications regarding offshore drilling rigs; develop different types of deep-water drilling equipment at different stages and by different levels; establish an integrated testing platform and a sea test base; strengthen inter-industry cooperation; develop this sector in an innovation-driven mode; and promote diversified, serial, automated, and intelligent development.

Abstract: s provide a chance to offload the tremendous cellular traffic generated by sharing popular content on mobile networks. Analyzing the content spread characteristics in real opportunity environments can discover important clues for traffic offloading decision making. However, relevant published work is very limited since it is not easy to collect data from real environments. In this study, we elaborate the analysis on the dataset collected from a real opportunity environment formed by the users of Xender, which is one of the leading mobile applications for content sharing. To discover content transmission characteristics, scale, speed, and type analyses are implemented on the dataset. The analysis results show that file transmission has obvious periodicity, that only a very small fraction of files spread widely, and that application files have much higher probability to be popular than other files. We also propose a solution to maximize file spread scales, which is very helpful for forecasting popular files. The experimental results verify the effectiveness and usefulness of our solution.

Third Generation Mobile Communication——The IP Oriented Application of Modern Wireless Communication Technology

Abstract:

The article firstly reviews the evolution of the 1st generation (analogy) mobile communication system and the 2nd generation (digital) mobile communication system, and predicts that deployment of mobile communication systems will be enter a development period at a more great rate in the next decate. The mobile communication service will extend from voice to data, and the mobile communication technology will transits from circuit mode to packet mode. Following briefly addressing the second and half generation mobile communication system (2.5 GM) that will come to application soon, introduces the 3rd generation mobile communication (3 GM) for broadband multimedia application. Some schemes as mainstream of 3GM RTT (radio transmission technology) standards and the key technologies, especially technical features of TD - SCDMA presented by China, are emphatically described. Finally, The transition strategy from 2GM to 3GM and the development trend of 3GM core network are prospected in this article.

Intelligent Development of Intelligent Marine Equipment in China

Abstract:

With the deep integration of information technology and the manufacturing industry, intelligent promotion and upgrading now becomes significant for boosting the competitiveness of China's marine equipment industry and for ultimately developing China into a shipbuilding power. The current situation and intelligent development trend of the marine equipment industry in other countries are first summarized in this paper. Bottlenecks that restricts the intelligent development of China's marine equipment is then analyzed. Furthermore, the general idea, implementing approach, and top-level framework are put forward for the intelligent development of China's marine equipment. Moreover, suggestions are proposed for the development, including establishing a reasonable product structure based on demand, promoting the demonstrating and guiding role of major projects, and enhancing cooperation among different industries.

Research on concreting equipment planning of ship lift boat cab segment in Three Gorges Project

Abstract:

This paper describes the selection process on concrete construction equipment of ship lift boat cab segment in Three Gorges Project in detail, including analysis on the characteristics of concrete construction in boat cab segment, selection argumentation of construction equipment at the tender stage and system adjustment and optimization of equipment selection at the construction stage. The engineering practice effect of construction equipment indicates that the concrete pouring equipment layout plan for Three Gorges Project ship lift boat cab section effectively covers all pouring surface, meeting the warehousing strength requirements in concrete pouring peak, and the construction schedule, cost, safety, can be effectively controlled. The concreting equipments of Three Gorges Project ship lift boat cab segment have been pre-rational planned, post-system adjusted and optimizated , they play an important role in the successful end of construction of Three Gorges ship lift project, and they have high promotion and application value.

Intelligent Manufacturing of Special Equipment Based on Intelligent Connection

Abstract:

Special equipment are important for the economic and societal development of a country. Implementing intelligent manufacturing in the special equipment field could facilitate the transformation and upgrades of the special equipment manufacturing industry of China, and it is also an essential component for the China Manufacturing 2025 plan. In this article, we first analyze the characteristics and current status of special equipment in China and summarize the demand for intelligent manufacturing of special equipment. Then we propose some measures and development ideas for promoting the special equipment manufacturing industry from big to strong. We propose that the guiding ideology should be parallel development; the Industry 2.0, Industry 3.0, and Industry 4.0 should be promoted in parallel in the special equipment industry. The development of intelligent manufacturing of special equipment should focus on product traceability, intelligent quality management, and real-time monitoring of dynamic risks. Based on this, intelligent connection is introduced as a technology path for developing intelligent manufacturing of special equipment, and the concept of intelligent connection is further analyzed. Furthermore, the key tasks for future development are building an intelligent connection network of special equipment and developing intelligent applications.

From Terahertz Imaging to Terahertz Wireless Communications Review

Abstract:

Terahertz (THz) technology is probably best known to the public as a powerful tool for imaging, since it has been applied in security and medical scanning, resulting in numerous impressive images that would be unobtainable using other technologies. With the roll-out of 5G mobile networks, research into 6G wireless communications is heating up. It is envisioned that THz technology will be used for 6G and future wireless communications. In this paper, we review how THz technology has been employed for imaging and wireless communications, identify state-of-the-art developments in the field, and then examine and compare common devices and issues in both applications. The possibility of integrating THz imaging/sensing and wireless communications is considered, and challenges and future perspectives are presented and discussed. It is shown that THz technology is indeed a key enabling technology for both imaging and wireless communications in the future.
