A simple digital control algorithm for three phase shunt active filter: simulation and experimentation

摘要： A novel and simple control algorithm using digital signal processor (DSP) has been proposed and realized for a three phase shunt active filter (SAF). The simulation and prototype construction of SAF is conducted to compensate the reactive power and harmonics in a distribution system. The major feature of the proposed algorithm is that it does not require unit vector templates and any transformations for the reference current generation of SAF. This reduces the computational complexity and makes the control flexible and faster. The simulation is conducted in MATLAB/SIMULINK while DSP TMS320LF2407 is employed in the digital implementation of hysteresis current control (HCC) for experimentation. The hardware results correlate with the simulation results in reducing the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the source current and achieving unity power factor.

Power quality improvement using fuzzy logic controller for five-level shunt active power filter under

摘要： In this paper, a five-level inverter is used as a shunt active power filter (APF), taking advantages of the multilevel inverter such as low harmonic distortion and reduced switching losses. It is used to compensate reactive power and eliminate harmonics drawn from a thyristor rectifier feeding an inductive load (RL) under distorted voltage conditions. The APF control strategy is based on the use of self-tuning filters (STF) for reference current generation and a fuzzy logic current controller. The use of STF instead of classical extraction filters allows extracting directly the voltage and current fundamental components in the - axis without phase locked loop (PLL). The MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox is used for implementing the fuzzy logic control algorithm. The obtained results show that the proposed shunt APF controller has produced a sinusoidal supply current with low harmonic distortion and in phase with the line voltage.

Rapid transaction to load variations of active filter supplied by PV system

摘要： This paper deals with the analysis and control of a photovoltaic (PV) system connected to the main supply through a Boost converter and shunt active filter supplied by a PV system providing continuous supply of nonlinear load in variation. A robust control of a PV system connected to the grid while feeding a variable nonlinear load is developed and highlighted. This development is based on the control of the Boost converter to extract the maximum power from the PV system using the Perturb and Observe (P and O) algorithm in the presence of temperature and illumination. The proposed modeling and control strategy provide power to the variable nonlinear load and facilitates the transfer of power from solar panel to the grid while improving the quality of energy (harmonic currents compensation, power factor compensation and dc bus voltage regulation). Validation of the developed model and control strategy is conducted using power system simulator Sim-Power System Blockset Matlab/Simulink. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the shunt active filter to load changes, the method of instantaneous power ( theory) is used to identify harmonic currents. The obtained results show an accurate extraction of harmonic currents and perfect compensation of both reactive power and harmonic currents with a lower THD and in accordance with the IEEE-519 standard.

摘要：首先，提出一种适用于大容量补偿的多模块并联有源电力滤波器系统。该系统中每个模块具备相同的电路拓扑、功能及控制器设计，有助于模块间协同控制的实现。模块指令信号由总指令信号与相应的分配系数相乘所得。其次，提出一种基于a-b-c坐标系下分相控制和实时总线通讯的新型容错控制策略。当某一相发生故障时，所提策略仅隔离故障桥臂而非停运整个模块，同时重新计算分配系数，将故障相的补偿容量转移到其他正常模块的相同相，使故障模块得以持续运行以及剩余可用功率器件优化利用。故障后电路的稳态分析证明系统具备高稳定性及控制可靠性，保证其工程应用价值。最后，搭建了实验样机，实验结果验证了所提多模块系统及其容错控制策略的可行性和有效性。

Unified power quality conditioner based on a three-level NPC inverter using fuzzy control techniques for all voltage disturbances compensation

摘要： This paper presents a novel and efficient control scheme for unified power quality conditioner (UPQC) based on three-level neutral point clamped (NPC) inverter using fuzzy logic techniques. The proposed UPQC is capable of mitigating source current harmonics and compensate all voltage disturbances such as voltage sags, swells, unbalances and harmonics. It is designed by the integration of series and shunt active filters (AFs) sharing a common DC bus capacitor. The DC voltage is maintained constant using proportional integral voltage controller. The synchronous reference frame (SRF) theory is used to get the reference signals for shunt active power filters (APFs) and the power reactive theory (p-q theory) for series APFs. The shunt and series APF reference signals derived from the control algorithm and sensed signals are injected in two controllers to generate switching signals. To improve the UPQC capability, fuzzy logic techniques are introduced to control the series APF. The performances of the proposed UPQC system are evaluated in terms of power factor correction, mitigation of voltage or current harmonics and all other voltage disturbances compensation using Matlab-Simulink software and SimPowerSystem toolbox. The simulation results illustrate the performance of the proposed UPQC at the common connection point of the nonlinear load to improve the power energy quality.

Performance investigation of artificial intelligence based controller for three phase four leg shuntactive filter

摘要： In this paper, the choice of power quality compensator is a DSTATCOM which constitutes a three phase four leg voltage source converter (VSC) with a DC capacitor. The control strategy proposed for the DSTATCOM is a neural network based one cycle control (OCC). This control strategy involves neural network block, digital circuits and linear elements, which eliminates the sensors required for sensing the load current and coupling inductor current in addition to the multiplier employed in the conventional method. The calculation of harmonic and reactive currents for the reference current generation is also eliminated, thus minimizing the complexity in the control strategy. The control strategy mitigates harmonic/reactive currents, ensures balanced and sinusoidal source current from the supply mains that are nearly in phase with the supply voltage, compensates neutral current, and maintains voltage across the capacitor under unbalanced source and load conditions. The performance of the DSTATCOM with the proposed artificial neural network (ANN) controllers is validated and investigated through simulations using Matlab software. The simulation results prove the efficacy of the proposed neural network based control strategy under varying source and load conditions.

Robust switched fractional controller for performance improvement of single phase active power filter

摘要： A novel controller is proposed to regulate the DC-link voltage of a single phase active power filter (SPAPF). The proposed switched fractional controller (SFC) consists of a conventional PI controller, a fractional order PI (FO-PI) controller and a decision maker that switches between them. Commonly, the conventional PI controller is used in regulation loops due to its advantages in steady-state but it is limited in transient state. On the other hand, the FO-PI controller overcomes these drawbacks but it causes dramatic degradation in control performances in steady-state because of the fractional calculus theory and the approximation method used to implement this kind of controller. Thus, the purpose of this paper is to switch to the PI controller in steady-state to obtain the best power quality and to switch to the FO-PI controller when external disturbances are detected to guarantee a fast transient state. To investigate the efficiency and accuracy of the SFC considering all robustness tests, an experimental setup has been established. The results of the SFC fulfill the requirements, confirm its high performances in steady and transient states and demonstrate its feasibility and effectiveness. The experiment results have satisfied the limit specified by the IEEE harmonic standard 519.

摘要：

目前，已经提出了多种有源电力滤波器谐波及无功电流检测方法，尽管这些方法各有特点，但都存在着难以克服的问题，如计算量大，实时性差，检测精度不高等。文章在负载电流分析的基础上，提出了一种基于迭代算法的有源电力滤波器谐波电流实时检测方法，该方法具有计算量非常小，实时性好，检测精度高等特点。理论分析与仿真研究证实了该方法的正确性。

H_∞ control in the frequency domain for a semi-active floor isolation system

摘要： A floor isolation system installed in a single floor or room in a fixed base structure is designed to protect equipment. With this configuration, the input motions to the floor isolation from the ground motions are filtered by the structure, leaving the majority of the frequency content of the input motion lower than the predominant frequency of the structure. The floor isolation system should minimize the acceleration to protect equipment; however, displacement must also be limited to save floor space, especially with long period motion. Semi-active control with an control was adopted for the floor isolation system and a new input shaping filter was developed to account for the input motion characteristics and enhance the effectiveness of the control. A series of shake table tests for a semi-active floor isolation system using rolling pendulum isolators and a magnetic-rheological damper were performed to validate the control. Passive control using an oil damper was also tested for comparison. The test results show that the control effectively reduced acceleration for short period motions with frequencies close to the predominant frequency of the structure, as well as effectively reduced displacement for long period motions with frequencies close to the natural frequency of the floor isolation system. The control algorithm proved to be more advantageous than passive control because of its capacity to adjust control strategies according to the different motion frequency characteristics.

摘要：

神经网络滞环控制就是将神经网络和滞环比较器这两种方法相结合的一种控制方法。滞环控制是控制方法中较为简单的一种，它不需要系统太多的参数，实时性较好，但用滞环控制方法时系统开关频率不固定，这不仅影响电子开关的使用寿命，而且降低了系统的稳定性。将二者结合的控制方法不仅可实现神经网络对快速变量的控制，而且可以提高滞环控制的性能。通过训练神经网络能够完成滞环比较器的功能，并可取代滞环比较器。给出了计算机仿真结果，神经网络通过DSP实现。

Vibration control efficiency of piezoelectric shunt damping system

摘要： The piezoelectric shunt damping technique based on the direct piezoelectric effect has been known as a simple, low-lost, lightweight, and easy to implement method for passive damping control of structural vibration. In this technique, a piezoelectric material is used to transform mechanical energy to electrical energy. When applying the piezoelectric shunt damping technique to passively control structural vibration, the piezoelectric materials must be bonded on or embedded in host structure where large strain is induced during vibration, thus to ensure vibrational mechanical energy to be transformed into electrical energy as much as possible. In this paper, the concept of vibration control efficiency of a piezoelectric shunt damping system is proposed and studied theoretically and experimentally. In the study, PZT patches are used as energy converter, and the vibration control efficiency is expressed by the vibration reduction rate per area of the PZT patches. Emphasis is laid on the effect of the generalized electromechanical coupling coefficient on the vibration control efficiency. Four PZT patches with different sizes are bonded on the geometrical central area of four similar clamped aluminum plates, respectively, and vibration control experiments are conducted for these plates using the R-L shunt circuit. The results indicate that the bigger the coupling coefficient , the larger the rate of vibration reduction, and hence, the higher the vibration control efficiency. It also shows that the vibration responses of the first mode of the plates bonded with different PZT patches can be reduced by about 30.5%，48.58%，85.47%, and 89.91%, respectively. It comes to a conclusion that the vibration control efficiency of the piezoelectric shunt damping system decreases with the increase of the area of the PZT patch, whereas the vibration reduction of the plate increases with the area of the PZT patch. Therefore, it is necessary to make topology optimization for the PZT patch in the vibration control utilizing the piezoelectric shunt damping technique.

Partial portacaval shunt with H-grafts to treat portal hypertension

摘要： Partial portosystemic shunts have been popularized because of a reported low rate of mortality and morbidity (especially encephalopathy, liver failure and occlusion). The results of partial portacaval shunts [small-diameter expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE) H-graft portacaval shunt] were retrospectively reviewed to evaluate the clinical efficacy in the treatment of portal hypertension. Forty-three patients with portal hypertension were treated by small-diameter H-graft of ePTFE portacaval shunt from May 1995 to April 2006. Thirty-three had externally ringed grafts and ten had non-ringed ones. Ten had grafts of 10 mm in diameter and 33 had grafts of 8 mm. The left gastric artery and coronary vein were ligated in all the cases. Six had pericardial devascularization and splenectomy was performed in 42. An average decrease of free portal pressure (FPP) from (33.24 ± 4.78) cmHO before shunting and (13.65 ± 5.65) cmHO after shunting was observed. The portal blood flow was reduced by one-third of that before shunt. Thirty-eight patients survived and no upper gastro-intestinal rebleeding occurred in the follow-up period (50.5 months in average). Two were out of contact. Color Doppler ultrasonography and/or portography revealed the shunts were patent in 38 cases and were occluded in three cases (3/41, 7.3%). Encephalopathy developed in five cases (5/41, 12.2%). Partial (small-diameter ePTFE H-graft) portacaval shunting can reduce the portal pressure effectively. Majority of the hepatic flow from the portal vein can be maintained adequately. The shunts with reinforced grafts can keep a higher rate of patency. The morbidity of encephalopathy was lower than those with total shunt. The partial portacaval shunt is effective in preventing recurrent variceal bleeding.

Implicit Heaviside filter with high continuity based on suitably graded THB splines

摘要： The variable density topology optimization (TO) method has been applied to various engineering fields because it can effectively and efficiently generate the conceptual design for engineering structures. However, it suffers from the problem of low continuity resulting from the discreteness of both design variables and explicit Heaviside filter. In this paper, an implicit Heaviside filter with high continuity is introduced to generate black and white designs for TO where the design space is parameterized by suitably graded truncated hierarchical B-splines (THB). In this approach, the fixed analysis mesh of isogeometric analysis is decoupled from the design mesh, whose adaptivity is implemented by truncated hierarchical B-spline subjected to an admissible requirement. Through the intrinsic local support and high continuity of THB basis, an implicit adaptively adjusted Heaviside filter is obtained to remove the checkboard patterns and generate black and white designs. Threefold advantages are attained in the proposed filter: a) The connection between analysis mesh and adaptive design mesh is easily established compared with the traditional adaptive TO method using nodal density; b) the efficiency in updating design variables is remarkably improved than the traditional implicit sensitivity filter based on B-splines under successive global refinement; and c) the generated black and white designs are preliminarily compatible with current commercial computer aided design system. Several numerical examples are used to verify the effectiveness of the proposed implicit Heaviside filter in compliance and compliant mechanism as well as heat conduction TO problems.

Solid-state NMR for metal-containing zeolites: From active sites to reaction mechanism

摘要： Metal-containing zeolite catalysts have found a wide range of applications in heterogeneous catalysis. To understand the nature of metal active sites and the reaction mechanism over such catalysts is of great importance for the establishment of structure-activity relationship. The advanced solid-state NMR (SSNMR) spectroscopy is robust in the study of zeolites and zeolite-catalyzed reactions. In this review, we summarize recent developments and applications of SSNMR for exploring the structure and property of active sites in metal-containing zeolites. Moreover, detailed information on host-guest interactions in the relevant zeolite catalysis obtained by SSNMR is also discussed. Finally, we highlight the mechanistic understanding of catalytic reactions on metal-containing zeolites based on the observation of key surface species and active intermediates.

Anovel approach of noise statistics estimate using H∞ filter in target tracking

摘要： Noise statistics are essential for estimation performance. In practical situations, however, a priori information of noise statistics is often imperfect. Previous work on noise statistics identification in linear systems still requires initial prior knowledge of the noise. A novel approach is presented in this paper to solve this paradox. First, we apply the H∞ filter to obtain the system state estimates without the common assumptions about the noise in conventional adaptive filters. Then by applying state estimates obtained from the H∞ filter, better estimates of the noise mean and covariance can be achieved, which can improve the performance of estimation. The proposed approach makes the best use of the system knowledge without a priori information with modest computation cost, which makes it possible to be applied online. Finally, numerical examples are presented to show the efficiency of this approach.
