The Relationship Between Fire and Socioeconomic Factors in China

Yang Lizhong,Jiang Dabai

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 2,   Pages 62-67

Abstract:

This paper studies the relationship between fire and socioeconomic factors of China based on the statistics data from 1997 to 2000. The result indicates that the relationship of fire and socioeconomic factors of China is different from that of developed countries distinctly. In China, fire situation is more serious in areas with more developed regions and tends to be more serious with the increase of economy. More comprehensive relationship of fire and economy has been proposed by discussing the relationship among fire and economy and education, i.e. , fire increases at first, then decreases with the development of economy. The prediction of fire situation in the future has been made based on the analysis of the paper.

Analysis and Forecast of China’s Total Economy and Its Structure from 2016–2035

Li Ping,Lou Feng and Wang Hongwei

Strategic Study of CAE 2017, Volume 19, Issue 1,   Pages 13-20 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2017.01.003

Abstract:

In this paper, we consider the main factors affecting the potential economic growth of China in the future and their transmission mechanism, in order to construct an economic system model and forecast the scale and structure of China’s economy over the next 20 years. In the benchmark scenario, China’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth rates from 2016–2020, 2021–2025, 2026–2030, and 2031–2035 are 6.4 %, 5.6 %, 4.9 %, and 4.5 %, respectively. In 2035, China's GDP scale will be 10.06 times greater than in 2000, 3.99 times greater than in 2010, and 2.02 times greater than in 2020. Over the next 20 years, investment-driven economic growth will gradually change into a new stage of development that is led by consumption demand. In the face of slowing growth in developed economies and the gradual reduction of its domestic labor force, China needs to strengthen its research and education investment; improve investment efficiency, total factor productivity, and technological progress; promote the transformation and upgrading of the manufacturing industry; and accelerate the tax reform of the financial system and the reform of the income distribution system.

Energy Revolution and Security Guarantee of China’s Energy Economy

Huang Weihe, Mei Yingdan, Wu Lili, Liang Yunling, Zhao Xiaoli

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 1,   Pages 124-132 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.01.018

Abstract:

Energy is the blood for economic operation. Energy structure adjustment may significantly impact the macroeconomic operation of a country. This study quantitatively estimates the effect of energy structure adjustment on energy prices and further evaluates the impact of the resulted price changes on macroeconomic operations using an econometric model and statistical methods. The results indicate that 1% increase of the proportion of natural gas consumption in the total energy consumption raises energy prices by 0.8% while 1% increase of the coal consumption ratio lowers energy prices by 0.2%. Moreover, technological progress, energy investment growth, increased marketization, and energy efficiency improvement are conducive to reducing energy prices. We conclude that China’s energy revolution is less likely to affect the security of the energy economy and the energy price rise remains within the acceptable range of national economy and energy consumption. To better ensure the security of energy economy in the process of China’s energy revolution, we propose that China should focus on technology innovation and deepen the reforms in the energy market to improve the competitiveness of the energy market. These measures are beneficial for mitigating the energy price increase pressure from energy revolution.

Model of Fuzzy Geometric Programming in Economical Power Supply Radius and Optimum Seeking Method

Cao Bingyuan

Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 3,   Pages 52-55

Abstract:

The choice of power supply radius for transformer substations is a complicated problem. A fuzzy geometric programming model of power supply radius under the fuzzy environment, including problems of soft constraints and fuzzy functions with fuzzy coefficients, is built in order to determine the best choice with less investment and lower energy loss. From the model built in this paper more information can be collected and more satisfactory results can be obtained compared with other static and dynamic optimum mathematical models such as controlling models and classical geometric programming ones.

Low carbon economy: idea, application and innovation

Jin Yong,Wang Yao,Hu Shanying,Zhu Bing

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 9,   Pages 4-13

Abstract:

Some thoughts on a low carbon economy were proposed to solve the contradiction between economic development and the demands for raw materials and the resulting environment deterioration. From a consideration of China's energy consumption and carbon dioxide emission patterns, it is suggested that work on this should be started from five aspects: restructuring the manufacturing sector, restructuring energy supplies, using scientific and technological innovations, optimizing consumption processes, and support from government policies. This paper discussed possible means to implement measures from those five aspects and analyzed some potential technological innovations.

The influence of socio-economic development on water quality in the Dianchi Lake

Pan Ming,Gao Lu

Strategic Study of CAE 2010, Volume 12, Issue 6,   Pages 117-122

Abstract:

The water quality and the social economic data from 1960 to 2008 were collected, correlation analysis were used to study the relationship between the population, GDP and the TN, TP, CODMn. The results shows that there is close positive correlation between the socio-economic development factors and the Dianchi Lake's water quality, the rapid population growth and economic development is one of major reasons which cause the Dianchi Lake pollution. Caohai part was placed more severe pressure by socio-economic development than Waihai part, and the extent of eutrophication of Caohai part seems to be increasing. But on account of the Dianchi Lake's comprehensive pollution prevention and treatment, Dianchi lake's water quality has been less impacted by socio-economic development and the trend of pollution in Waiha has been basically curbed since the "The 10th Five-Year Plan of Dianchi Lake basin pollution prevention and treatment"  started in 2000.
