Optimal synchronization control for multi-agent systems with input saturation: a nonzero-sum game Research Article

Hongyang LI, Qinglai WEI

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 7,   Pages 1010-1019 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200010

Abstract: This paper presents a novel method for with . The multi-agent game theory is introduced to transform the problem into a multi-agent . Then, the Nash equilibrium can be achieved by solving the coupled Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equations with nonquadratic input energy terms. A novel method is presented to obtain the Nash equilibrium solution without the system models, and the critic neural networks (NNs) and actor NNs are introduced to implement the presented method. Theoretical analysis is provided, which shows that the iterative control laws converge to the Nash equilibrium. Simulation results show the good performance of the presented method.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 7,   Pages 986-1001 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000145

Abstract: In this paper, an observer-based adaptive tracking control scheme is developed for a class of uncertain multi-input multi-output nonlinear systems with or without . A novel finite-time is constructed to estimate the system uncertainties and external disturbances. To guarantee the , an error transformation is applied to transfer the time-varying constraints into a constant constraint. Then, by employing a barrier Lyapunov function and the backstepping technique, an observer-based tracking control strategy is presented. It is proven that using the proposed algorithm, all the closed-loop signals are bounded, and the tracking errors satisfy the predefined time-varying performance requirements. Finally, simulation results on a quadrotor system are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

The Analysis of Dangerous Volumetric Water Content of Unsaturated Soil Slope

Zhang Shilin,Wang Dongmei,Li Genhua

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 5,   Pages 71-75

Abstract:

This article mainly formulates that rainfall seeping makes the volumetric water of unsaturated soil changing, and the water content relates closely to soil suction. That means soil suction changes with the stability of whole unsaturated soil slope, that is, the safety coefficient has some relationship with volumetric water. So the “dangerous” volumetric water condition cna be determined under which, the unsaturated soil slope also is danger. By monitoring the volumetric water condition changing of unsaturated soil slope, some information of unsaturated soil slope stability can be obtained.

The Principle of Interaction Between Plastic Volumetric and Shear Strains for Unsaturated Soils

Wang Jingtao

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 11,   Pages 11-15

Abstract:

In this paper,  the principle of interaction between plastic volumetric and shear strains for rock and soil has been extended to the field of unsaturated soils.  Two new interactions of suction-plastic volumetric strain and pore air pressure-plastic volumetric strain appear in the unsaturated state of a soil besides the interaction between plastic volumetric and shear strains.  The suction possesses a dual property. Thereby the effect of the suction on plastic volumetric strain includes two opposite aspects.  By means of this property of suction,  the physical significance of effective stress parameter,  effects of suction on volume change and preconsolidation pressure,  and the mechanism of collapse upon wetting all can be explained.  In addition,  it is theoretically proved by application of this principle of interaction that the critical state line for unsaturated soils exists,  and is unique and independent of the stress history.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900601

Abstract: We deal with event-triggered controller design for discrete-time s subject to . By considering saturation information, a novel event-triggered strategy is proposed to conserve communication resources. A based condition is derived based on a piecewise Lyapunov function. This condition guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system with a certain index and reduces the number of transmitted signals. Numerical examples are given to show the efficiency of our method.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000341

Abstract: In this study, (TiS) polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film-type (SA) is synthesized with a modulation depth of 5.08% and a saturable intensity of 10.62 MW/cm by liquid-phase exfoliation and spin-coating methods. Since TiS-based SA has a strong nonlinear saturable absorption property, two types of optical soliton were observed in a mode-locked Er-doped . When the pump power was raised to 67.3 mW, a conventional mode-locked pulse train with a repetition rate of 1.716 MHz and a pulse width of 6.57 ps was generated, and the output spectrum centered at 1556.98 nm and 0.466 nm spectral width with obvious Kelly sidebands was obtained. Another type of mode-locked pulse train with the maximum output power of 3.92 mW and pulse energy of 2.28 nJ at the pump power of 517.2 mW was achieved when the polarization controllers were adjusted. Since TiS-based SA has excellent nonlinear saturable absorption characteristics, broad applications in ultrafast photonic are expected.

Bingxin LI, Xiangfei ZHAO, Xuefeng ZHANG, Xin ZHAO

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 12,   Pages 1862-1870 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200294

Abstract: In this paper, for fractional-order with order (0<<1) and is studied. On the basis of the Smith predictor and approximation error, the system with is approximately equivalent to the system without . Furthermore, based on the (LMI) technique, the necessary and sufficient condition of is proposed. Since the condition is a nonstrict LMI, including the equality constraint, it will lead to some trouble when solving problems using toolbox. Thus, the strict LMI-based condition is improved in the paper. Finally, a numerical example and a direct current motor example are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the strict LMI-based condition.

Anenhanced mixedmodulated Lagrange explicit time delay estimator with noisy input Article

Wei XIA,Ju-lei ZHU,Wen-ying JIANG,Ling-feng ZHU

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 10,   Pages 1067-1073 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500417

Abstract: The mixed modulated Lagrange explicit time delay estimation (MMLETDE) algorithm provides an efficient time delay estimation between narrowband or sinusoidal signals. However, it does not explicitly consider the additive measurement noise at the input, which actually exists in practice. Aiming at this issue, an enhanced MMLETDE algorithm is proposed for noisy inputs based on the unbiased impulse response estimation technique, assuming that the noise power ratio is known a priori. Simulation results show that for narrowband signals or sinusoids over a wide frequency range, the proposed algorithm with a small filter order performs well in moderate and high noise scenarios.

Influence of soil foundation interaction simulation method on seismic response of Taizhou Bridge

Han Lei,Peng Tianbo and Zhao Yi

Strategic Study of CAE 2012, Volume 14, Issue 5,   Pages 51-56

Abstract:

Three different models are discussed in this paper, which are consolidation single tower model with body flexibility considered, linear single tower model based on m analysis method and nonlinear single tower model based on p-y curve analysis method, respectively. Seismic responses of these models are analyzed under ground motion inputs of El-Centro Earthquake and Kobe Earthquake and the calculation results are compared in this paper. The result turns out that the simulation method of linear single tower model of open caisson based on m analysis method produces larger structual response than that of the nonlinear single tower model based on p-y curve analysis method. While the simulation method of linear single tower model of pile group foundation based on m analysis method matches very well with that of nonlinear single tower method based on py curve analysis method.

A new variable-mode control strategy for LLC resonant converters operating in a wide input voltage range Article

Hui-pin LIN,Xiao-guang JIN,Liang XIE,Jin HU,Zheng-yu LU

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 3,   Pages 410-422 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1600029

Abstract: This paper proposes a new variable-mode control strategy that is applicable for LLC resonant converters operating in a wide input voltage range. This control strategy incorporates advantages from full-bridge LLC resonant converters, half-bridge LLC resonant converters, variable-frequency control mode, and phase-shift control mode. Under this control strategy, different input voltages determine the different operating modes of the circuit. When the input voltage is very low, it works in a full-bridge circuit and variable frequency mode (FB_VF mode). When the input voltage rises to a certain level, it shifts to a full-bridge circuit and phase-shifting control mode (FB_PS mode). When the input voltage further increases, it shifts into a half-bridge circuit and variable frequency mode (HB_VF mode). Such shifts are enabled by the digital signal processor (DSP), which means that no auxiliary circuit is needed, just a modification of the software. From light load to heavy load, the primary MOSFET for the LLC resonant converter can realize zero-voltage switching (ZVS), and the secondary rectifier diode can realize zero-current switching (ZCS). With an LLC resonant converter prototype with a 300 W rated power and a 450 V output voltage, as well as a resonant converter with 20–120 V input voltage, the experiments verified the proposed control strategy. Experimental results showed that under this control strategy, the maximum converter efficiency reaches 95.7% and the range of the input voltage expands threefold.

Modulational Instability of Optical Vortices in Engineered Saturable Media Review

D.G. Pires, N.M. Litchinitser

Engineering 2022, Volume 17, Issue 10,   Pages 31-43 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2022.04.022

Abstract:

Propagation of light beams in turbid media such as underwater environments, fog, clouds, or biological tissues finds increasingly important applications in science and technology, including bio-imaging, underwater and free-space communication technologies. While many of these applications traditionally relied on conventional, linearly polarized Gaussian beams, light possesses many degrees of freedom that are still largely unexplored, such as spin angular momentum (SAM) and orbital angular momentum (OAM). Here, we present nonlinear light–matter interactions of such complex light beams with "rotational" degrees of freedom in engineered nonlinear colloidal media. By making use of both variational and perturbative approach, we consider non-cylindrical optical vortices, elliptical optical vortices, and higher-order Bessel beams integrated in time (HOBBIT) to predict the dynamics and stability of the evolution of these beams. These results may find applications in many scenarios involving light transmission in strongly scattering environments.

Zero ground clearance dual antenna pair for metal-cased fifth-generation multiple input multiple output smartphone Correspondence

Le CHANG, Wenbao HE, Xiaomin CHEN, Xiaoxue TAN, Juan CHEN, Kai KANG, Yang YANG

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 10,   Pages 1562-1567 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200119

Abstract:

The fifth-generation (5G) era has already arrived and many applications are prospering. The multiple input multiple output (MIMO) system is the key to enhancing channel capacity for both the fourthgeneration (4G) wireless communication and 5G systems. For a smartphone, the most challenging task for antenna engineers is to accommodate the numerous 4G and 5G multi-port antennas while avoiding mutual coupling problems (Li Y et al., 2009, 2012; Hong, 2017; Sharawi et al., 2017). Therefore, implementing multiple antennas within a small space is a worthwhile topic to study, especially for antennas operating at the same frequency.
