Abstract

The Three Gorges Dam, which has attracted worldwide attention, is the largest hydraulic engineering in the modern world. This paper gives a brief and concise description of the problems concerned in the construction of the Three Gorges Project at home and abroad, such as siltation of sediment, landslide of reservoir bank, induced earthquake, technology of key project, diversion and navigation during the construction of the project, river closure, ecological environment and project benefit.
