Abstract

Based on how to improve the inherent thermal performance of high speed high precision machine tools, theories and methods about thermal characteristic analysis, thermal structure optimization and cooling technology were introduced systematically in this paper. In order to provide reference for machine tools researchers and designers, the latest progress and technology on thermal design of machine tools were reviewed and research emphasis and directions were also discussed.
