New Evolve of Plasma Alloying on Titanium Alloys Surface

Zhang Gaohui,Xu Zhong,Zhang Pingze,Ge Hongliang,Cui Yujian,Wen Tingdun,Pan Junde

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 11,   Pages 163-166

Abstract:

Aimed at improving wear, corrosion resistance and enhancing fire retardance, several plasma surface treating methods on titanium alloys had been presented, which included add-arc glow hydrogen-free carburizing plasma depositing on titanium alloy, double glow plasma hydrogen-free carburizing on titanium alloy, double glow Mo diffusing,  double glow Cr diffusing, double glow Cu diffusing. The results showed that gradient layer had formed on the titanium alloys surface, that was of great significance on wear, corrosion resistance and fire burning resistance.

Sequential degradation-based burn-in test with multiple periodic inspections

Frontiers of Engineering Management 2021, Volume 8, Issue 4,   Pages 519-530 doi: 10.1007/s42524-021-0166-0

Abstract: Burn-in has been proven effective in identifying and removing defective products before they are deliveredMost existing burn-in models adopt a one-shot scheme, which may not be sufficient enough for identificationuseful life prediction and accelerated lifetime test, this study proposes a sequential degradation-based burn-inWe cast the problem into a partially observed Markov decision process to minimize the expected total burn-in

Numerical simulation of charge stratifications to improve combustion and NO formation of lean-burn SI

Zhijun PENG ,

Frontiers in Energy 2009, Volume 3, Issue 3,   Pages 353-358 doi: 10.1007/s11708-009-0035-8

Abstract: The influences of charge stratification on spark ignition (SI) engine combustion and NO emission were analyzed using a phenomenological model. The mixture in the cylinder was divided spherically into three parts: a central core with a stoichiometric air-fuel charge, a dilution region without any combustible charge, and a mixing region lying between the core and the dilution region. Three mixture stratification parameters such as the extent of dilution in the mixing region, the extent of combustible charge in the mixing region, and the gradient of stratification in the mixing region were investigated. The results indicate that the extent of combustible charge in the mixing region could reduce in-cylinder NO formation significantly, compared with the extent of dilution in the mixing region. As long as the degree of dilution in the mixing region is within the dilution limit of the combustible charge, the gradient of dilution has little effect on combustion and NO formation.

Solvent-resistant porous membranes using poly(ether−ether ketone): preparation and application

Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering 2023, Volume 17, Issue 10,   Pages 1536-1559 doi: 10.1007/s11705-022-2221-8

Abstract: Poly(ether−ether ketone) (PEEK) is a linear aromatic macromolecule, which can form semi-crystalline aggregative status, allowing PEEK materials to have strong environment tolerance and excellent physicochemical properties. PEEK materials have become a promising alternative to fabricate particular membranes used in extreme conditions. In the past few decades, many researches and evolutions have emerged in membrane fabrication with PEEK materials and its applications for treating organic solvents and their mixtures; however, there are little systematic and comprehensive literature to summarize fabrication approaches, compile applications, and elaborate PEEK property-structure relationship. In this review, the main approaches to fabricate PEEK-based membranes are illustrated concretely, including conventional thermal-induced and non-solvent-induced phase separation, and novel chemical-induced crystallization; the representative applications in ultrafiltration, nanofiltration and membrane contactor containing organic solvents are demonstrated systematically. Meanwhile, the mechanism to tune PEEK solubility in solvents, which can be achieved by altering monomers in synthesis processes or changing membrane preparation routes, is deeply analyzed. Moreover, the existing problems and the future prospects are also discussed. This review provides positive guidance for designing and fabricating membranes using PEEK and its derivative materials for task-specific applications in harsh conditions.
