Abstract: In the present electricity market, where renewable energy power plants have been included in the power systems, there is a lot of unpredictability in the demand and generation. There are many conventional and evolutionary programming techniques used for solving the unit commitment (UC) problem. Dynamic programming (DP) is a conventional algorithm used to solve the deterministic problem. In this paper DP is used to solve the stochastic model of UC problem. The stochastic modeling for load and generation side has been formulated using an approximate state decision approach. The programs were developed in a MATLAB environment and were extensively tested for a four-unit eight-hour system. The results obtained from these techniques were validated with the available literature and outcome was good. The commitment is in such a way that the total cost is minimal. The novelty of this paper lies in the fact that DP is used for solving the stochastic UC problem.

Abstract: In underwater scenes, the quality of the video and image acquired by the underwater imaging system suffers from severe degradation, influencing target detection and recognition. Thus, restoring real scenes from blurred videos and images is of great significance. Owing to the light absorption and scattering by suspended particles, the images acquired often have poor visibility, including color shift, low contrast, noise, and blurring issues. This paper aims to classify and compare some of the significant technologies in , presenting a comprehensive picture of the current research landscape for researchers. First we analyze the reasons for degradation of underwater images and the underwater optical imaging model. Then we classify the technologies into three categories, including image , image , and deep learning approaches. Afterward, we present the objective and analyze the state-of-the-art approaches. Finally, we summarize the shortcomings of the defogging approaches for underwater images and propose seven research directions.

Abstract: Penetration testing offers strong advantages in the discovery of hidden vulnerabilities in a network and assessing network security. However, it can be carried out by only security analysts, which costs considerable time and money. The natural way to deal with the above problem is automated penetration testing, the essential part of which is automated attack planning. Although previous studies have explored various ways to discover attack paths, all of them require perfect network information beforehand, which is contradictory to realistic penetration testing scenarios. To vividly mimic intruders to find all possible attack paths hidden in a network from the perspective of hackers, we propose a network information gain based automated attack planning (NIG-AP) algorithm to achieve autonomous attack path discovery. The algorithm formalizes penetration testing as a Markov decision process and uses network information to obtain the reward, which guides an agent to choose the best response actions to discover hidden attack paths from the intruder’s perspective. Experimental results reveal that the proposed algorithm demonstrates substantial improvement in training time and effectiveness when mining attack paths.

Abstract: The problem of state feedback controllers for a class of Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) Lipschitz nonlinear systems is investigated. A simple systematic and useful synthesis method is proposed based on the use of the differential mean value theorem (DMVT) and convex theory. The proposed design approach is based on the mean value theorem (MVT) to express the nonlinear error dynamics as a convex combination of known matrices with time varying coefficients as linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. Using the Lyapunov theory, stability conditions are obtained and expressed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The controller gains are then obtained by solving linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the proposed approach for closed loop-field oriented control (CL-FOC) of permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives is demonstrated through an illustrative simulation for the proof of these approaches. Furthermore, an extension for controller design with parameter uncertainties and perturbation performance is discussed.
