Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 12,   Pages 1551-1684 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2100259

Abstract: The conversion from constant current (CC) to constant voltage (CV) is one of the key technologies of CC systems. A with high stability and high reliability is usually used. Applications, however, are limited by high heat dissipation and low efficiency. In this paper, with an improved shunt regulation method, a novel concept of stepless power reconfiguration (SPR) for the CC/CV module is proposed. In cases with stable or slowly changing load, two modes of CC/CV conversion are proposed to reduce unnecessary power loss of the while being able to retain any operator-preset power margin in the system: (1) the manual SPR (MSPR) method based on single-loop control method; (2) the automatic SPR (ASPR) method based on inner-outer loop control method. The efficiency of the system is analyzed. How to select some key parameters of the system is discussed. Experimental results show that MSPR and ASPR are both effective and practical methods to reduce heat dissipation and improve the efficiency of the CC/CV module, while the high stability of the remains.

Abstract:

Today, with new services and applications blooming on the internet, to enable traditional routers to offer enough capability and speed of upgrade along with these services and applications in time would become even harder than ever. Run-time reconfiguration (RTR), based on the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), is a new promising technology that can configure the partial or total hardware logic resources of a system at run time. Based on the technology, reconfigurable routers can support dynamic reconfiguration of new hardware logic for the new service, while keeping the other services still run properly, hence can provide a new possible solution to the update problem of the traditional routers. After introducing the basic concepts of RTR and the current development of the FPGA, this paper summarizes the past major research efforts with respect to the reconfigurable router, as well as the current work on it. Research directions and open problems are also discussed from the point of view of reconfigurable network.

A novel PV sub-module-level power-balancing topology for maximum power point tracking under partial shading and mismatch conditions Article

Mustafa GOKDAG,Mehmet AKBABA

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 12,   Pages 1388-1396 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500322

Abstract: Partial shading and mismatch conditions among the series-connected modules/sub-modules suffer from a nonconvex power curve with multiple local maxima and decreased peak power for the whole string. Energy transfer between the sub-modules brings them to the same operating voltage, and this collective operation produces a convex power curve, which results in increased peak power for the string. The proposed topology benefits from the switched-capacitor (SC) converter concept and is an applica-tion for sub-module-level power balancing with some novelties, including stopping the switching in absence of shading, string-level extension, and a reduced number of power electronics components as compared to those in the literature. Reduction in the number of power electronics components is realized by the fact that two sub-modules share one SC converter. This leads to reduced power electronics losses as well as less cost and volume of the converter circuit. Insertion loss analysis of the topology is presented. The proposed topology is simulated in the PSpice environment, and a prototype is built for experimental verification. Both simulation and experimental results confirm the loss analysis. This proves that with the proposed topology it is possible to extract almost all the power available on the partially shaded string and transfer it to the load side.

Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 5,   Pages 202-212 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2022.01.015

Abstract:

The river networks in the plains of China are in low-lying terrain with mild bed slopes and weak hydrodynamics conditions. Filled with intense human activities, these areas are characterized by serious water security problems, e.g., frequent floods, poor water self-purification capabilities, and fragile water ecosystems. In this paper, it’s found that all these problems are related to hydrodynamics, and the spatiotemporal imbalance of river network hydrodynamics is identified as the common cause of these water-related problems. From this, a theory for the hydrodynamic reconstruction of plain river networks is proposed. In addition to the importance of the flow volume, this theory highlights the role of hydrodynamics and limited energy in improving the ecological water environment. The layout of water conservancy project systems (e.g., sluices and pumping stations) is optimized to fully tapping the potential integrative benefit of projects. The optimal temporal and spatial distributions of hydrodynamic patterns is reconstructed in order to meet the needs of the integrated management of complex water-related problems in river networks. On this basis, a complete theoretical method and technical system for multiscale hydrodynamic reconstruction and multi-objective hydraulic regulation in plain river networks with weak hydrodynamics is established. The principles of the integrated management of water problems in river network areas are put forward. The practical application and efficacy of the theory are demonstrated through a case study aiming to improve the water quality of the river network in the main urban area of Yangzhou City.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 3,   Pages 470-479 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200250

Abstract: A novel method is proposed to extend the range of the . This study reveals that the OPBO range of the DPA can be extended by tuning the of the peaking stage away from infinity and changing the phase delay of the output matching network of the carrier power amplifier. Based on this theory, a large-OPBO-range high-efficiency asymmetrical DPA working band from 1.55 to 2.2 GHz (35% relative bandwidth) is designed to verify the proposed method. Experimental results show that the DPA operates from 1.6 to 2.1 GHz. The range of the measured efficiency is 42.2%–52.1% in the OPBO state and 47%–62.7% in the saturation state. The OPBO range is 11.1–13.2 dB.

Improved three-vector based dead-beat model predictive direct power control strategy for grid-connected inverters None

Chen-wen CHENG, Heng NIAN, Long-qi LI

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2018, Volume 19, Issue 11,   Pages 1420-1431 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601874

Abstract:

Since only one inverter voltage vector is applied during each duty cycle, traditional model predictive direct power control (MPDPC) for grid-connected inverters (GCIs) results in serious harmonics in current and power. Moreover, a high sampling frequency is needed to ensure satisfactory steady-state performance, which is contradictory to its long execution time due to the iterative prediction calculations. To solve these problems, a novel dead-beat MPDPC strategy is proposed, using two active inverter voltage vectors and one zero inverter voltage vector during each duty cycle. Adoption of three inverter vectors ensures a constant switching frequency. Thus, smooth steady-state performance of both current and power can be obtained. Unlike the traditional three-vector based MPDPC strategy, the proposed three vectors are selected based on the power errors rather than the sector where the grid voltage vector is located, which ensures that the duration times of the selected vectors are positive all the time. Iterative calculations of the cost function in traditional predictive control are also removed, which makes the proposed strategy easy to implement on digital signal processors (DSPs) for industrial applications. Results of experiments based on a 1 kW inverter setup validate the feasibility of the proposed three-vector based dead-beat MPDPC strategy.

Asplitting-after-merging approach tomulti-FIB compression and fast refactoring in virtual routers Article

Da-fang ZHANG,Dan CHEN,Yan-biao LI,Kun XIE,Tong SHEN

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 12,   Pages 1266-1274 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500499

Abstract: Virtual routers are gaining increasing attention in the research field of future networks. As the core network device to achieve network virtualization, virtual routers have multiple virtual instances coexisting on a physical router platform, and each instance retains its own forwarding information base (FIB). Thus, memory scalability suffers from the limited on-chip memory. In this paper, we present a splitting-after-merging approach to compress the FIBs, which not only improves the memory efficiency but also offers an ideal split position to achieve system refactoring. Moreover, we propose an improved strategy to save the time used for system rebuilding to achieve fast refactoring. Experiments with 14 real-world routing data sets show that our approach needs only a unibit trie holding 134 188 nodes, while the original number of nodes is 4 569 133. Moreover, our approach has a good performance in scalability, guaranteeing 90 000 000 prefixes and 65 600 FIBs.

Abstract:

A realtime united algorithm for dynamic subbcarrier, bit and power allocation according to the change of channel (UA) is presented in this paper, which can be used into the down-link of multi-user orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. With the algorithm the total transmission power is the minimum while the data rate of each user and the required BER performance can be achieved. Comparing to the subcarrier allocation algorithm (WSA) , the simulation results show that the algorithm presented in this paper has better performance while both have equal calculating complexity.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2022, Volume 23, Issue 1,   Pages 134-144 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000325

Abstract: RSA and ellipse curve cryptography (ECC) algorithms are widely used in authentication, data security, and access control. In this paper, we analyze the basic operation of the ECC and RSA algorithms and optimize their modular multiplication and modular inversion algorithms. We then propose a modular operation architecture, with a mix-memory unit and double multiply-accumulate structures, to realize our unified, asymmetric cryptosystem structure in an operational unit. Synthesized with 55-nm CMOS process, our design runs at 588 MHz and requires only 437 801 μm of hardware resources. Our proposed design takes 21.92 and 23.36 mW for 2048-bit RSA modular multiplication and modular inversion respectively, as well as 16.16 and 15.88 mW to complete 512-bit ECC dual-field modular multiplication and modular inversion respectively. It is more energy-efficient and flexible than existing single algorithm units. Compared with existing multiple algorithm units, our proposed method shows better performance. The operation unit is embedded in a 64-bit RISC-V processor, realizing key generation, encryption and decryption, and digital signature functions of both RSA and ECC. Our proposed design takes 0.224 and 0.153 ms for 256-bit ECC point multiplication in and respectively, as well as 0.96 ms to complete 1024-bit RSA exponentiation, meeting the demand for .

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 4,   Pages 56-59

Abstract:

The track irregularity which is the main vibrating resource of the vehicles and one of the main factors to limit the train highest speed, plays a very important part in the safety, stabilization and comfort of the trains. The statistic samples used by this paper are collected by track geometry inspection car from Qin-shen special line for passenger transport. Based on the stationary character test of the samples, FFT method was used to evaluate the spectrum of the statistical sample space, and MATLAB soft was used to get the PSD(power spectral sensity) of track irregularities. Based on statistical average of the samples of the track irregularities, frequency smoothing of the PSD and coupare with PSD of the main-line of Chinese railway were made. The curve to the PSD was fit. Then the track state of Qin+shen special line for passenger transport was evaluated.

Reasonable Rated Voltage of High and Medium Power Adjustable-Speed Drives for Energy Saving

Ma Xiaoliang

Strategic Study of CAE 2001, Volume 3, Issue 11,   Pages 80-84

Abstract:

A large amount of energy will be saved if adjustable-speed drives are adopted by high and medium power pumps and fans. The power range of most of the drives is within 0.2~2 MW. The rated voltage of most of the motors in the power range is 10 kV because the power supply is 10 kV. The adjustable-speed scheme, a 10 kV motor is fed by a 10 kV inverter, is not reasonable because this kind of inverter consists of a lot of power electronic devices in series and its cost is high and reliability is poorer than lower voltage one. Owing to the existence of input transformer of the inverter, it is not necessary to ask for that the rated voltage of the motor and inverter is the same as power supply, i. e. a lower rated voltage can be used for the motor and inverter. The reasonable rated voltages of motors and inverters with different power grades are investigated and the by-pass methods when the rated voltages of the motors are different from power supply are discussed in this paper.
