Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000341

Abstract: In this study, (TiS) polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) film-type (SA) is synthesized with a modulation depth of 5.08% and a saturable intensity of 10.62 MW/cm by liquid-phase exfoliation and spin-coating methods. Since TiS-based SA has a strong nonlinear saturable absorption property, two types of optical soliton were observed in a mode-locked Er-doped . When the pump power was raised to 67.3 mW, a conventional mode-locked pulse train with a repetition rate of 1.716 MHz and a pulse width of 6.57 ps was generated, and the output spectrum centered at 1556.98 nm and 0.466 nm spectral width with obvious Kelly sidebands was obtained. Another type of mode-locked pulse train with the maximum output power of 3.92 mW and pulse energy of 2.28 nJ at the pump power of 517.2 mW was achieved when the polarization controllers were adjusted. Since TiS-based SA has excellent nonlinear saturable absorption characteristics, broad applications in ultrafast photonic are expected.

Strategic Study of CAE 2000, Volume 2, Issue 2,   Pages 87-90

Abstract:

A brief review of the advance of copper smelting technology and the price fluctuations of copper products indicate that the competition of copper market depends upon the production cost relying on metallurgy technology. In order to ensure the smooth development of the copper industry in China and win competition in the world, we must persist in domestic r & D and incorporation with foreign technology for copper smelting. This paper commentes on the deficiencies of intensified oxidizing-PS convetring-pyrorefining-electrolysis processes and analyzes the feasibility and basises of combined pyrometallurgical and hydrometallurgical method. The new combined process route will be more advantageous in future competition.

Qian Zhuangzhi,Duan Jun,Feng Yanqing,Xu Gang, Zhang Jiangjiang

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 2,   Pages 19-28

Abstract:

This article summarized the main metallogenic tectonic settings of the magmatic Cu-Ni (PGE) deposits in China by the regional distribution characteristics, new progresses in exploration, and new research materials. It found out four important metallogenic tectonic settings which were large igneous province, rift on craton margin or intracontinental extensional environment, post-collisional extensional environment on orogenic belt, and active continental margin or island arc. Comparing the findings with other countries, the result showed that China lacks the magmatic sulfide deposits related to greenstone belt and ophiolite belt, but the large scale mineralization in the post-collisional extensional environment on the orogenic belt is quite rare in the world. Therefore, the prospecting direction should fully consider those small mafic-ultramafic intrusions which related to the four types metallogenic tectonic settings mentioned above.

Hydrogen Sulfide Promotes Adipocyte Differentiation, Hyperplasia, and Hypertrophy Article

Richa Verma,Ming Fu,Guangdong Yang,Lingyun Wu,Rui Wang

Engineering 2023, Volume 20, Issue 1,   Pages 36-48 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2022.09.010

Abstract:

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is endogenously produced in adipocytes and fat tissues and stimulates adipogenesis. The integrated pathogenic effects of H2S on the development of obesity and the underlying mechanisms, however, have been unclear. Here, we find that a decreased endogenous H2S level lowered lipid accumulation in mouse adipocytes. Exogenous H2S treatment significantly increased the adipogenesis of primary mouse preadipocytes after six days of adipogenic induction. In the early phase of adipogenesis, H2S increased cell proliferation and prepared cells to go through hyperplasia. After H2S treatment for ten days, preadipocytes exhibited significantly greater cell surface area and diameter, indicating cell hypertrophy. Although it stimulated lipid accumulation and adipogenesis, H2S had no effect on lipolysis. With nutrition overload and high glucose/insulin incubation, H2S further stimulated glucose consumption and deteriorated adipocyte hypertrophy. H2S upregulated hyperplasia genes (CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein (C/EBPβ), cell division cycle 25 (Cdc25), minichromosome maintenance 3 (Mcm3), and cell division cycle (Cdc45)) and cyclin-dependent kinase 2 protein (Cdk2), which regulates cell proliferation. H2S also upregulated the insulin receptor β (Irβ)-activated mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) and protein kinase B (Akt) pathways, leading to adipogenesis. In conclusion, H2S increases adipocyte differentiation, hypertrophy, and hyperplasia, implying that it plays a pathogenic role in obesity disorder.

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 2,   Pages 73-84

Abstract:

By the using of geochemical methods and quantitative textural analysis,This paper studied the spatial distribution characteristics of platinum group elements in Jinchuan Ni-Cu-(PGE) sulfide deposit, discussed the dynamic behavior in the process of magma evolution, and the evolution of Jinchuan mafic-ultramafic magma .This study found that the spatial distribution of the platinum group elements showing a certain regular changes between four continuous ore bodies. Overall, there are a significant decrease in the value of Pd/Ir-Ni/Cu between the four ore bodies from west to east. Through?the analysis, the cause which effected the distribution is that the monosulfide solid solution(MSS) has experienced a process of crystallization differentiation during crystal fractionation. On the other hand, through quantitative textural analysis, found that the structure of No. 1 ore body is much more mature than No. 1 ore body, which suggested that the emplacement of the former one is much more earlier than the latter one. Integrated geochemical and magma dynamics information, finally obtained the conclusion that the moving direction of Jinchuan magma conduit system is along the strike of the intrusions from northeast to southeast.

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 2,   Pages 29-34

Abstract:

The theory on small intrusions forming large deposits put forward by academician Zhongli Tang was a recapitulative summary by Long-term studying of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits which related to mafic-ultramafic intrusions. And this theory got a common response by exploration industry in the world. Many mineral exploration practices have effectively illustrated that the hypabyssal and small intrusion could always form the larger ore deposits. Our study is about the mineralization of Ni-Cu sulfide deposits which related to mafic-ultramafic intrusions in the northwestern of China. In this paper,we have discussed the theory of small intrusions forming large deposits, considering that mantle magma deep part liquation and injection is the main mechanism of this theory. And another theory of magma conduit systems, may cause the local enrichment of mineral, and like that theory of small intrusions forming large deposits. After summarizes the prospecting fact of magmatic Ni-Cu sulfide deposits in the northwestern of China,we expand the scientific connotation of the theory on small intrusions forming large deposits, and make it more realistic meaningful in guiding prospecting.

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 2,   Pages 85-96

Abstract:

According to the analysis and comparison with the content and geochemical characteristics of and trace element from Cu-Ni sulfide deposits between Kelatongke and Jinchuan, meanwhile, combing different tectonic setting and rock series of these two types of deposits, we study their magmatic and mineralization processes. The results show that major element of Kalatongke belongs to the tholeiitic basalt system; incompatible trace element presents as enrichment of large ion lithophile elemen(LILE) and depletion of high field strength element(HFSE), suggesting that they are derived from the continental crust; the rare earth element (REE) presenting rich in light rare earth element (LREE), and there is no obvious Eu anomalies, Sr and Nd isotopes indicates that the magma source is depleted asthenosphere mantle. Major element of Jinchuan deposit belongs to the tholeiitic basalts and mid ocean ridge basalt system; incompatible trace element presents as enrichment of LILE, depletion of HFSE, showing the magma suffers from contamination of crust materials or there are materials of subducted oceanic crust in the source ; the ratio of N(La)/N(Nb) and N(Zr)/N(Nb) indicating its source is derived from EMI mantle; the REE presenting enriched in LREE, the ratio of N(La)/N(Yb), N(La)/N(Sm) and N(Gd)/N(Yb) presenting enriched in LREE; and there is no obvious Eu anomalies, Sr and Nd isotopes declaring magma derived from enriched mantle. And we also predicted the magma conduit and mineralization potential of two ore deposits by 3D geological modeling, hoped it will useful for later period exploration.

Engineering 2022, Volume 14, Issue 7,   Pages 27-32 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.12.013

Abstract:

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the primary greenhouse gas contributing to anthropogenic climate change which is associated with human activities. The majority of CO2 emissions are results of the burning of fossil fuels for energy, as well as industrial processes such as steel and cement production. Carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) is a sustainability technology promising in terms of reducing CO2 emissions that would otherwise contribute to climate change. From this perspective, the discussion on carbon capture focuses on chemical absorption technology, primarily due to its commercialization potential. The CO2 absorptive capacity and absorption rate of various chemical solvents have been summarized. The carbon utilization focuses on electrochemical conversion routes converting CO2 into potentially valuable chemicals have received particular attention. The Faradaic conversion efficiencies for various CO2 reduction products are used to describe efficiency improvements. For carbon storage, successful deployment relies on a better understanding of fluid mechanics, geomechanics, and reactive transport, which are discussed in details.

Strategic Study of CAE 2000, Volume 2, Issue 1,   Pages 62-67

Abstract:

Erlangshan Mountain lies at the contiguous area of Tianquan county, Ya´an Prefecture, Sichuan Province and Luding County, Ganzi Zang Autonomous State. The Erlangshan mountainous area with complicated geology and dangerously steep mountains is characterized by harsh weather such as storm, heavy fog, snow, ice, strong wind and various frequently occuring natural disasters, such as landslide, rock falling and debris flow, and therefore the highway in this area is low in standard and poor in condition, resulting in serious traffic jam and frequent accidents, which threaten the safety of traffic. This paper describes the scheme study of disease countermeasures on the Erlangshan section of Sichuan - Tibet Highway and the project comparison of line alternatives, and presents the reasons of building a tunnel in the area, the tunnel alignment and the problems occurred in the construction. The dialectical relationships between a tunnel and its linking works, between a key project and an ordinary project are profoundly analyzed and the related experinences and lessons are also summarized, which will enlighten both the organizers and the designers on the construction of a project.

Binary neural networks for speech recognition Regular Papers

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 5,   Pages 701-715 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800469

Abstract:

Recently, deep neural networks (DNNs) significantly outperform Gaussian mixture models in acoustic modeling for speech recognition. However, the substantial increase in computational load during the inference stage makes deep models difficult to directly deploy on low-power embedded devices. To alleviate this issue, structure sparseness and low precision fixed-point quantization have been applied widely. In this work, binary neural networks for speech recognition are developed to reduce the computational cost during the inference stage. A fast implementation of binary matrix multiplication is introduced. On modern central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) architectures, a 5–7 times speedup compared with full precision floatingpoint matrix multiplication can be achieved in real applications. Several kinds of binary neural networks and related model optimization algorithms are developed for large vocabulary continuous speech recognition acoustic modeling. In addition, to improve the accuracy of binary models, knowledge distillation from the normal full precision floating-point model to the compressed binary model is explored. Experiments on the standard Switchboard speech recognition task show that the proposed binary neural networks can deliver 3–4 times speedup over the normal full precision deep models. With the knowledge distillation from the normal floating-point models, the binary DNNs or binary convolutional neural networks (CNNs) can restrict the word error rate (WER) degradation to within 15.0%, compared to the normal full precision floating-point DNNs or CNNs, respectively. Particularly for the binary CNN with binarization only on the convolutional layers, the WER degradation is very small and is almost negligible with the proposed approach.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 8,   Pages 1080-1091 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000239

Abstract: The (ABC) algorithm is an evolutionary optimization algorithm based on swarm intelligence and inspired by the honey bees’ food search behavior. Since the ABC algorithm has been developed to achieve optimal solutions by searching in the continuous search space, modification is required to apply it to problems. In this study, we modify the ABC algorithm to solve problems and name it the improved binary ABC (IbinABC). The proposed method consists of an update mechanism based on fitness values and the selection of different decision variables. Therefore, we aim to prevent the ABC algorithm from getting stuck in a local minimum by increasing its exploration ability. We compare the IbinABC algorithm with three variants of the ABC and other meta-heuristic algorithms in the literature. For comparison, we use the well-known OR-Library dataset containing 15 problem instances prepared for the uncapacitated facility location problem. Computational results show that the proposed algorithm is superior to the others in terms of convergence speed and robustness. The source code of the algorithm is available at https://github.com/rafetdurgut/ibinABC.
