Abstract: is a technique in photography that records the process of light propagation before it reaches a stationary state such that events at the light speed level can be observed. In this review we introduce three main models for with a : correlation model, frequency-domain model, and compressive sensing model. applications usually involve resolving the problem of light transport and separating the light rays arriving along different paths. We discuss two of the applications: imaging objects inside and recovering both the shape and texture of an object around a corner.

Abstract:

Inspired by the compound eyes of insects, many s have been proposed to improve the imaging quality, e.g., to yield a high-resolution image or an image with a large field-of-view. Previous research has reviewed existing s, but few papers emphasize the which is essential to bridge the gap between configuration design and application. In this paper, we review typical s (i.e., , , and ), and then summarize general mathematical s for different configurations. These mathematical models provide methods for calculating the key indexes of a specific , such as the field-of-view and sub-image overlap ratio. The mathematical tools simplify the quantitative design and evaluation of imaging systems for researchers.

Multi-camera systems for rehabilitation therapies: a study of the precision of MicrosoftKinect sensors

Miguel OLIVER,Francisco MONTERO,José Pascual MOLINA,Pascual GONZÁLEZ,Antonio FERNÁNDEZ-CABALLERO

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2016, Volume 17, Issue 4,   Pages 348-364 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1500347

Abstract: This paper seeks to determine how the overlap of several infrared beams affects the tracked position of the user, depending on the angle of incidence of light, distance to the target, distance between sensors, and the number of capture devices used. We also try to show that under ideal conditions using several Kinect sensors increases the precision of the data collected. The results obtained can be used in the design of telerehabilitation environments in which several RGB-D cameras are needed to improve precision or increase the tracking range. A numerical analysis of the results is included and comparisons are made with the results of other studies. Finally, we describe a system that implements intelligent methods for the rehabilitation of patients based on the results of the tests carried out.

Abstract: Light field (LF) imaging has attracted attention because of its ability to solve problems. In this paper we briefly review the research progress in in recent years. For most factors that affect development, the richness and accuracy of visual information acquisition are decisive. LF imaging technology has made great contributions to because it uses cameras or s to record the position and direction information of light rays, acquiring complete three-dimensional (3D) scene information. LF imaging technology improves the accuracy of depth estimation, image segmentation, blending, fusion, and 3D reconstruction. LF has also been innovatively applied to iris and face recognition, identification of materials and fake pedestrians, acquisition of s, shape recovery, and LF microscopy. Here, we further summarize the existing problems and the development trends of LF imaging in , including the establishment and evaluation of the LF dataset, applications under high dynamic range (HDR) conditions, LF image enhancement, virtual reality, 3D display, and 3D movies, military optical camouflage technology, image recognition at micro-scale, image processing method based on HDR, and the optimal relationship between spatial resolution and four-dimensional (4D) LF information acquisition. LF imaging has achieved great success in various studies. Over the past 25 years, more than 180 publications have reported the capability of LF imaging in solving problems. We summarize these reports to make it easier for researchers to search the detailed methods for specific solutions.

Molecular Characteristics, Functions, and Related Pathogenicity of MERS-CoV Proteins Review

Yan-Hua Li, Chen-Yu Hu, Nan-Ping Wu, Hang-Ping Yao, Lan-Juan Li

Engineering 2019, Volume 5, Issue 5,   Pages 940-947 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2018.11.035

Abstract:

Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) is a viral respiratory disease caused by a de novo coronavirus—Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV)—that is associated with high mortality. However, the mechanism by which MERS-CoV infects humans remains unclear. To date, there is no effective vaccine or antibody for human immunity and treatment, other than the safety and tolerability of the fully human polyclonal Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody (SAB-301) as a putative therapeutic agent specific for MERS. Although rapid diagnostic and public health measures are currently being implemented, new cases of MERS-CoV infection are still being reported. Therefore, various effective measures should be taken to prevent the serious impact of similar epidemics in the future. Further investigation of the epidemiology and pathogenesis of the virus, as well as the development of effective therapeutic and prophylactic anti-MERS-CoV infections, is necessary. For this purpose, detailed information on MERS-CoV proteins is needed. In this review, we describe the major structural and nonstructural proteins of MERS-CoV and summarize different potential strategies for limiting the outbreak of MERS-CoV. The combination
of computational biology and virology can accelerate the advanced design and development of effective peptide therapeutics against MERS-CoV. In summary, this review provides important information about the progress of the elimination of MERS, from prevention to treatment.
