Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2019, Volume 13, Issue 2, doi: 10.1007/s11783-019-1102-y

Abstract:

An image-recognition-based diagnosis system of pipe defect types was established.

1043 practical pipe images were gathered by CCTV robot in a southern Chinese city.

The overall accuracy of the system is 84% and the highest accuracy is 99.3%.

The accuracy shows positive correlation to the number of training samples.

Zhang Shengliang,Xu Yong,Yang Jian,Yang Jingyu

Strategic Study of CAE 2006, Volume 8, Issue 8,   Pages 50-55

Abstract: First, the two dimension principal component analysis (2DPCA) is used to extract one group of featuresfisher linear discriminant analysis (LDA) , or fisherfaces, is used for extracting another group of features, denoted by β.After being standardized, the two kinds of features are combined together in theThen the fusion features in the complex feature space is extracted by using complex PCA (CPCA).method can achieve about 10% higher recognition accurate rate than 2DPCA and LDA, while only using 28 features

Experimental study of face passive failure features of a shallow shield tunnel in coastal backfill sand

Frontiers of Structural and Civil Engineering 2024, Volume 18, Issue 2,   Pages 252-271 doi: 10.1007/s11709-024-1059-1

Abstract: Face passive failure can severely damage existing structures and underground utilities during shallow shield tunneling, especially in coastal backfill sand. In this work, a series of laboratory model tests were developed and conducted to investigate such failure, for tunnels located at burial depth ratios for which C/D = 0.5, 0.8, 1, and 1.3. Support pressures, the evolution of failure processes, the failure modes, and the distribution of velocity fields were examined through model tests and numerical analyses. The support pressure in the tests first rose rapidly to the elastic limit and then gradually increased to the maximum value in all cases. The maximum support pressure decreased slightly in cases where C/D = 0.8, 1, and 1.3, but the rebound was insignificant where C/D = 0.5. In addition, the configuration of the failure mode with C/D = 0.5 showed a wedge-shaped arch, which was determined by the outcropping shear failure. The configuration of failure modes was composed of an arch and the inverted trapezoid when C/D = 0.8, 1, and 1.3, in which the mode was divided into lower and upper failure zones.

Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering 2018, Volume 12, Issue 4, doi: 10.1007/s11783-018-1059-2

Abstract:

SFE-GC system is established for flavonols assessment.

Optimal parameters of SFE-GC are evaluated and determined.

Quercetin and kaempferol are detected in plant under heavy metal stress.

Gene expression analysis shows consistent regularity with content of flavonols.

ROS level is applied for elaborating the plant resistance status.

Abstract:

As a complex weapon system integrated with optical/mechanical/hydraulic technology, main battle tank (MBT) has powerful fire, high mobility and integrated protection. This paper described the status of MBT in the war and its performance characteristics. On the basis of analysis of existing problems and development tendency of current MBT, the author put forward that in order to meet the operational requirements of the future high-technology war the next generation MBT should be low-profiled, light, digital and stealthy.

The clinicopathologic features of intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasms of the pancreas

QIN Xinyu, LIU Fenglin

Frontiers of Medicine 2007, Volume 1, Issue 2,   Pages 121-125 doi: 10.1007/s11684-007-0023-5

Abstract: Since first described in 1982, intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasm (IPMN) has been the preferred term to describe the proliferation of the pancreatic ductal epithelium. It is totally different from pancreatic carcinoma in epi demiology, histology, pathology and prognosis. According to the site of involvement, IPMNs are classified into three categories, i.e. main duct type, branch duct type, and combined type. Most branch duct IPMNs are benign, whereas the other two types are often malignant. A large branch duct IPMN and marked dilation of the main pancreatic duct indicate the presence of adenoma at least. The additional existence of large mural nodules increases the possibility of malignancy in all types. The prognosis is more favorable after complete resection of benign and non-invasive malignant IPMNs. Malignant IPMNs that become more aggressive after parenchymal invasion necessitate adequate lymph node dissection. On the other hand, asymptomatic branch duct IPMNs without mural nodules can be observed without the need for resection for a considerable period of time. Our review addresses available data, current understanding, controversy, and future directions about IPMNs.
