Major Difficult Problems in the Construction of the Three Gorges Project

Wang Jiazhu

Strategic Study of CAE 2003, Volume 5, Issue 8,   Pages 16-22

Abstract:

As the largest in the world by far,the Three Gorges Project (TGP )is a multipurpose development and comprehensive utilization project that can bring a huge benefit by combining flood control, electric prowler generation and shipping. It is of large scale and technically complex. This paper expounds a large number of major technical problems that has been, and will be, solved in the construction of the project, and points out that the solution of these problems will be an important urge to the development of both water conservancy and hydraulic power generation science and technology.

Study on the Nonlinear Characteristics of Cutting Forces in High-speed Face-milling of Difficult-to-cut

Long Zhenhai,Wang Xibin,Wang Haochen

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 10,   Pages 28-31

Abstract:

Factorials experiment and velocity single-factor experiment are applied in the dry high-speed milling experiments of Martensitic stainless steel 2Crl3, which is used in aerospace industry. Based on the analysis of cutting regimes, influences on milling force, the spectrum analysis and wavelet analysis are applied on the random cutting force signals. This study shows that in high speed milling of Martensitic stainless process, the interaction of depth of cut and feed per tooth has significant effect on the cutting force; the interaction of feed per tooth and depth of cut introduces a lower frequency periodic signal; this low frequency signal coupled with high frequency signal could remarkably increase the amplitude of cutting force signals.

Technical Status, Challenges, and Solutions of Maritime Bridge Engineering

Gao Zongyu, Ruan Huaisheng, Qin Shunquan, Ma Runping, Mei Dapeng

Strategic Study of CAE 2019, Volume 21, Issue 3,   Pages 1-4 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2019.03.016

Abstract:

According to the future construction demands of deep-water sea-crossing bridge engineering, the research status of structure and design theory is analyzed. It is proposed that technical challenges faced by sea-crossing bridge engineering are mainly four aspects: strong wind wave, strong corrosion, super water depth and super large span. The sea-crossing bridge engineering development attaches great importance to theoretical research on environmental effects and combinations, structural durability, fatigue resistance and life-time design, and focuses on breakthroughs in key technical bottlenecks such as super-long span bridge schemes, ultra-deep water infrastructure forms and rapid construction of new structural forms. It is suggested to establish the national sea-crossing bridge engineering technology research center, strengthen the investment in science and technology hardware, cultivate innovative talents, and improve the science and technology reward mechanism.
