Li Yuanyuan, Tan Minghong, Zhang Hongqi

Strategic Study of CAE 2018, Volume 20, Issue 5,   Pages 90-95 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2018.05.014

Abstract:

Cropland is the basis of grain production. In recent decades, the spatial pattern of cropland in China has changed significantly, which has caused some impact on grain production. Based on land cover data of 1990, 2000, and 2010, this study explored changes in the spatial pattern of cropland, and constructed a database with a spatial resolution of 1 km based on county-level agricultural statistics and soil organic matter data, which is the representative of crop productivity. The results show that: during the period from 1990 to 2010, drastic reclamation happened in Northeast and Northwest China while the cropland acreage decreased in Huang-Huai-Hai Plain; the main source of new cropland during the study period was grassland (46.9%), and the lost cropland was mainly converted to forest land (36.6%) in the first ten years and then to construction land (53.0%) in the following ten years; the changes in the spatial pattern of cropland have caused a decrease of 2.0% in the average crop productivity, and during this period, the construction land mostly occupied high-quality cropland, while the newly reclaimed cropland had lower crop productivity.

Strategic Study of CAE 2017, Volume 19, Issue 4,   Pages 138-144 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2017.04.022

Abstract:

The efficient use of land is an important concept in ecological civilization construction. Given the objective reality that China's urbanization level is increasing, this paper deeply analyzes the causes behind the increase in the total amount of land being used for construction in villages and the decrease in the efficiency of land being used for construction in villages. The results show that inefficiency of land being used for construction in villages is due to a lack of reasonable planning and guidance regarding the number of villages, homesteads, and collective lands being used for construction. It is therefore proposed that the following strategies be carried out for village land planning: guidance for the development of villages based on different categories; reductions in the total amount of land being used for construction; intensive land usage; optimization of the reserves of land being used for construction; adoption of measures to local conditions, and control of the increasing amount of land being used for construction. This paper uses practical examples to explain the methodology of planning strategies. Finally, it puts forward an institutional guarantee of land planning in village construction. Improving the planning strategy and institutional guarantee can increase the efficiency of land use for construction, thereby promoting ecological civilization construction.

Strategic Study of CAE 2022, Volume 24, Issue 2,   Pages 1-9 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2022.02.001

Abstract:

High-quality manufacturing is an innovative model that supports quality transformation and increases high-quality supply, and it is crucial for upgrading China’s manufacturing industry. Studying the technology system and development strategy for highquality manufacturing is significant for boosting China’s manufacturing sector. In this study, we first identify the problems regarding the manufacturing quality development in China and examine the key issues through a four-in-one framework that integrates supply side, demand side, government supervision, and quality infrastructure. Subsequently, we explore the connotation and characteristics of highquality manufacturing, establish a technology system that covers the entire process of design, production, operation, and maintenance, and propose several countermeasures. Our study shows that China’s manufacturing quality still suffers from low quality efficiency, limited international influence of manufacturing brands, and difficulty in quality upgrade of the industrial chain. The technology system we proposed is comprised of quality infrastructure, quality generic technologies, lifecycle quality control technologies, and resource elements. Furthermore, we suggest that China should strengthen the construction of high-quality manufacturing standards system, accelerate the upgrading of industrial chain quality, innovate the quality development mechanism, improve the supply capacity of quality resource elements, achieve breakthroughs in new technologies, and consolidate the quality infrastructure.

Yongmei Xu, Shijie Fang, Xiaopeng Ma, Qianqian Zhu

Strategic Study of CAE 2018, Volume 20, Issue 5,   Pages 96-102 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2018.05.015

Abstract:

Coverage and use of agricultural plastic films in China has been increasing year by year, and its use area expands rapidly from west to east. Based on these characteristics, this paper discussed the pollution condition of residual plastic films, the deterioration of soil physicochemical properties caused by residual plastic films, and the risks of ecological environment deterioration. And then four causes of plastic film pollution were summarized. Common PE plastic films are difficult to degrade and are always substandard; the plastic films are difficult to recycle and have a low reuse efficiency; the technology of degradable plastic films is immature; and there is a lack of substitute products and supervision mechanism. On these bases, some control strategies for agricultural plastic film pollution were put forward to provide references for the rational utilization of agricultural plastic films in China. For example, standardized production of the plastic films should be promoted and the national standard of plastic film thickness≥0.01 mm should be strictly enforced; the scientific and rational use of plastic films in the field should be emphasized and the timely film uncovering technology should be promoted; the efficiency of residual film recovery machines should be improved, striving to realize zero residual of plastic films; greater efforts should be devoted to the research and development of degradable plastic films and the field application of degradable plastic films should be popularized.

Zhengcai Yang, Zhenhai Gao, Fei Gao, Xinyu Wu, Lei He,gaozh@jlu.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 11,   Pages 1492-1504 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000439

Abstract: in autonomous vehicles is a popular research topic. Scene modeling of the driving area is a prerequisite for lane changing decision problems. A road environment representation method based on a dynamic occupancy grid is proposed in this study. The model encapsulates the data such as vehicle speed, obstacles, lane lines, and traffic rules into a form of spatial drivability probability. This information is compiled into a hash table, and the grid map is mapped into a hash map by means of hash function. A vehicle behavior decision cost equation is established with the model to help drivers make accurate vehicle lane changing decisions based on the principle of least cost, while considering influencing factors such as vehicle drivability, safety, and power. The feasibility of the strategy is verified through vehicle tests, and the results show that the system based on a of dynamic can provide to drivers taking into consideration the dynamics and safety.

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 1,   Pages 174-184 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.01.024

Abstract:

The Yangtze River Delta is an important industrial and agricultural production base in China. It is significant to pay attention to the heavy metal pollution of agricultural land in the Yangtze River Delta for promoting the healthy development of social economy and for ensuring the safety of ecological environment in China. In this paper, the accumulation and pollution status of typical heavy metals in the agricultural land soil in different regions of the Yangtze River Delta were comprehensively analyzed and the main reasons for the pollution were systematically discussed, according to the heavy metal content data reported in relevant literatures published over the past 20 years. The analysis revealed that due to industrial “three wastes” emissions, transportation, and the extensive use of fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural films, Cd accumulation and pollution in the agricultural land soil of the entire Yangtze River Delta is the most serious, followed by Cu, Hg and Pb pollution; specifically, Taizhou (in Zhejiang Province) has a compound pollution problem of Cd, Hg, and Cu while Tongling (in Anhui Province) has a compound pollution problem of Cd, Pb, and Cu. To meet the urgent need for the prevention and control of heavy metal pollution in the Yangtze River Delta and considering the main causes of pollution, some suggestions were proposed, including source control, rapid and dynamic monitoring, hierarchical management of agricultural land, research and development of new technologies for soil remediation, and legislation on prevention and control of agricultural land soil pollution. It is hoped that this research can provide a reference for improving the soil ecological environment in the Yangtze River Delta and promoting the sustainable development of a high-quality and efficient agriculture.

Strategic Study of CAE 2004, Volume 6, Issue 3,   Pages 1-5

Abstract:

There is limited agricultural land but large population in China. Along with the rapid economic development, large area of agricultural land is converted to be nonagricultural use by numerous projects every year. There is obvious conflict between population growth and agricultural land reduction. In order to support sustainable economic development, the Chinese Government has decided to implement the protection system of primary agricultural land. Class 1 and Class 2 of high quality agricultural land is defined based on the detailed rural land survey. These higher quality agricultural lands are listed as primary agricultural land and protected with strict regulations. The primary agricultural land protection system is one of the basic conditions to support sustainable development and prosperity of China.

Analysis of the Quality of Daily DEM Generation with Geosynchronous InSAR Article

Zefa Yang, Qingjun Zhang, Xiaoli Ding, Wu Chen

Engineering 2020, Volume 6, Issue 8,   Pages 913-918 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2020.07.003

Abstract:

Up-to-date digital elevation model (DEM) products are essential in many fields such as hazards mitigation and urban management. Airborne and low-earth-orbit (LEO) space-borne interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) has been proven to be a valuable tool for DEM generation. However, given the limitations of cost and satellite repeat cycles, it is difficult to generate or update DEMs very frequently (e.g., on a daily basis) for a very large area (e.g., continental scale or greater). Geosynchronous synthetic aperture radar (GEOSAR) satellites fly in geostationary earth orbits, allowing them to observe the same ground area with a very short revisit time (daily or shorter). This offers great potential for the daily DEM generation that is desirable yet thus far impossible with space-borne sensors. In this work, we systematically analyze the quality of daily GEOSAR DEM. The results indicate that the accuracy of a daily GEOSAR DEM is generally much lower than what can be achieved with typical LEO synthetic aperture radar (SAR) sensors; therefore, it is important to develop techniques to mitigate the effects of errors in GEOSAR DEM generation.

Strategic Study of CAE 2022, Volume 24, Issue 1,   Pages 20-28 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2022.01.003

Abstract:

The balance of supply and demand for agricultural resources in China is becoming increasingly tight due to the multiple effects of high-quality agricultural production, transformation and upgrading of food consumption structure, and climate change. Therefore, it is crucial for China to integrate the international and domestic resources and markets to ensure food security in the medium and long term. Based on a comparative analysis of agricultural resources in China and abroad, we investigate food consumption demand, consumption structure, and supply structure in China by 2035 and 2050. The agricultural resource utilization targets for China by 2035 and 2050 are proposed based on an analysis of the agricultural resource supply-demand gap as well as import potentials and sources of virtual water and virtual arable land. We find that the import of virtual arable land by China will reach a peak around 2048, with nearly 6.147×107 hm2. Virtual water imports will reach a peak around 2045. If estimated by blue water, virtual water imports will be 1.136×108 m3, accounting for 30% of the total agricultural water consumption in 2017. The increase in the import potentials of China’s arable land will mainly come from South America and Africa.
