An overview on the applications of the hesitant fuzzy sets in group decision-making: Theory, support

摘要: Due to the characteristics of hesitant fuzzy sets (HFSs), one hesitant fuzzy element (HFE), which is the basic component of HFSs, can express the evaluation values of multiple decision makers (DMs) on the same alternative under a certain attribute. Thus, the HFS has its unique advantages in group decision making (GDM). Based on which, many scholars have conducted in-depth research on the applications of HFSs in GDM. We have viewed lots of relevant literature and divided the existing studies into three categories: theory, support and methods. In this paper, we elaborate on hesitant fuzzy GDM from these three aspects. The first aspect is mainly about the introduction of HFSs, HFPRs and some hesitant fuzzy aggregation operators. The second aspect describes the consensus process under hesitant fuzzy environment, which is an important support for a complete decision-making process. In the third aspect, we introduce seven hesitant fuzzy GDM approaches, which can be applied in GDM under different decision-making conditions. Finally, we summarize the research status of hesitant fuzzy GDM and put forward some directions of future research.

Clinical decision-making by the emergency department resident physicians for critically ill patients

摘要:

The application of main methodologies for clinical decision-making by residents in emergency medical practice was assessed, and issues in this area were investigated. The treatments provided to 2 611 critical patients by the Peking Union Medical College Hospital of were analyzed by independent investigators who evaluated the main clinical decision-making processes applied by the hospital residents. The application of decision-making strategies by PG1 and PG3 groups, which means the residents in first year and the third year, were compared. The patients were treated according to pattern recognition (43.0%), hypothetico-deductive reasoning (23.4%), event-driven models (19.3%), and rule-using algorithms (5.9%). A significant difference was found between PG1 and PG3 groups (χ2=498.01, P<0.001). Pattern recognition and hypothetic-deductive methods were the most common techniques applied by emergency physicians in evaluating critically ill patients. The decision-making processes applied by junior and senior residents were significantly different, although neither group adequately applied rule-using algorithms. Inclusion of clinical decision-making in medical curricula is needed to improve decision-making in critical care.

Selection of digital fabrication technique in the construction industry—A multi-criteria decision-making

摘要: Digital fabrication techniques, in recent decades, have provided the basis of a sustainable revolution in the construction industry. However, selecting the digital fabrication method in terms of manufacturability and functionality requirements is a complex problem. This paper presents alternatives and criteria for selection of digital fabrication techniques by adopting the multi-criteria decision-making technique. The alternatives considered in the study are concrete three-dimensional (3D) printing, shotcrete, smart dynamic casting, material intrusion, mesh molding, injection concrete 3D printing, and thin forming techniques. The criteria include formwork utilization, reinforcement incorporation, geometrical complexity, material enhancement, assembly complexity, surface finish, and build area. It demonstrates different multi-criteria decision-making techniques, with both subjective and objective weighting methods. The given ranking is based on the current condition of digital fabrication in the construction industry. The study reveals that in the selection of digital fabrication techniques, the criteria including reinforcement incorporation, build area, and geometrical complexity play a pivotal role, collectively accounting for nearly 70% of the overall weighting. Among the evaluated techniques, concrete 3D printing emerged as the best performer, however the shotcrete and mesh molding techniques in the second and third positions.

A consensus model for group decision making under interval type-2 fuzzy environment

摘要: We propose a new consensus model for group decision making (GDM) problems, using an interval type-2 fuzzy environment. In our model, experts are asked to express their preferences using linguistic terms characterized by interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2 FSs), because these can provide decision makers with greater freedom to express the vagueness in real-life situations. Consensus and proximity measures based on the arithmetic operations of IT2 FSs are used simultaneously to guide the decision-making process. The majority of previous studies have taken into account only the importance of the experts in the aggregation process, which may give unreasonable results. Thus, we propose a new feedback mechanism that generates different advice strategies for experts according to their levels of importance. In general, experts with a lower level of importance require a larger number of suggestions to change their initial preferences. Finally, we investigate a numerical example and execute comparable models and ours, to demonstrate the performance of our proposed model. The results indicate that the proposed model provides greater insight into the GDM process.

Challenges of human–machine collaboration in risky decision-making

摘要: The purpose of this paper is to delineate the research challenges of human–machine collaboration in risky decision-making. Technological advances in machine intelligence have enabled a growing number of applications in human–machine collaborative decision-making. Therefore, it is desirable to achieve superior performance by fully leveraging human and machine capabilities. In risky decision-making, a human decision-maker is vulnerable to cognitive biases when judging the possible outcomes of a risky event, whereas a machine decision-maker cannot handle new and dynamic contexts with incomplete information well. We first summarize features of risky decision-making and possible biases of human decision-makers therein. Then, we argue the necessity and urgency of advancing human–machine collaboration in risky decision-making. Afterward, we review the literature on human–machine collaboration in a general decision context, from the perspectives of human–machine organization, relationship, and collaboration. Lastly, we propose challenges of enhancing human–machine communication and teamwork in risky decision-making, followed by future research avenues.

Intuitionistic Fuzzy Aggregation Operator Based on Choquet Integral and Its Application to Multi-Criteria Decision-Making

摘要: The Choquet integral can serve as a useful tool to aggregate interacting criteria in an uncertain environment. In this paper, a trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operator based on the Choquet integral is proposed for multi-criteria decision-making problems. The decision information takes the form of trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and both the importance and the interaction information among decision-making criteria are considered. On the basis of the introduction of trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy numbers, its operational laws and expected value are defined. A trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy aggregation operator based on the Choquet integral is then defined and some of its properties are investigated. A new multi-criteria decision-making method based on a trapezoidal intuitionistic fuzzy Choquet integral operator is proposed. Finally, an illustrative example is used to show the feasibility and availability of the proposed method.

Applying system dynamics to strategic decision making in construction

摘要: The author discusses the application of System Dynamics to high-level strategic simulation in construction. In particular, System Dynamics’ strength on representing feedback processes, aggregation, soft variables, and continuous simulation clock for high-level simulation are discussed using real modeling examples. From this exercise, it is concluded that System Dynamics offers a great potential for strategic simulation in construction. Further, the author proposes a comprehensive simulation framework that integrates System Dynamics and Discrete Event Simulation for a strategic decision making process in construction where operational details should be taken into account.

Decision-making governance for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in China

摘要: The complexity of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the political environment of “One country, Two systems” have brought a vital influence on the decision-making recognition, decision-making analysis, and decision-making management related to this cross-border infrastructure mega-project. Based on case study, this study systematically analyzes the complexity of the decision-making related to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and explains the general principles that were used for its decision-making management. The research examines the decision-making management system of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, its adaptive behavior, and specific coordination mechanism on different decision-making problems in different decision-making stages. This result provides reference for decision-making management system design of cross-border projects.

Common biases in client involved decision-making in the AEC industry

摘要: Understanding of the constitution of client involved decisions is important for future improvements of the processes. Significant decisions in construction projects are reliant on heuristic processes where assumptions are developed from past experience. The paper presents a methodology to collect empirical data in an unstructured manner utilizing participant intuition and experience regarding project level collaboration, a term easily understood by practitioners. Empirical data collected from 6 focus group discussions in Norway and 18 individual interviews in Finland is associated with biases in decision making aimed at bridging the gap of understanding and literature’s insufficient coverage. An analytic framework was developed to suit the diverse emergence of concepts to allow application of psychological principles in a structured manner to empirical data. The paper contributes by identifying types of cognitive and motivational biases in client involved decisions. The biases are found to be alleviated by one another depending on the particular application of the decision. Findings suggest that normative beliefs exist developed from past experience and habitual thinking. A number of emerged biases in this domain are alleviated from normative beliefs which are discussed in this paper.

Convergence to real-time decision making

摘要: Real-time decision making reflects the convergence of several digital technologies, including those concerned with the promulgation of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies that underpin real-time actions. More specifically, real-time decision making can be depicted in terms of three converging dimensions: Internet of Things, decision making, and real-time. The Internet of Things include tangible goods, intangible services, ServGoods, and connected ServGoods. Decision making includes model-based analytics (since before 1990), information-based Big Data (since 1990), and training-based artificial intelligence (since 2000), and it is bolstered by the evolving real-time technologies of sensing (i.e., capturing streaming data), processing (i.e., applying real-time analytics), reacting (i.e., making decisions in real-time), and learning (i.e., employing deep neural networks). Real-time includes mobile networks, autonomous vehicles, and artificial general intelligence. Central to decision making, especially real-time decision making, is the ServGood concept, which the author introduced in an earlier paper (2012). It is a physical product or good encased by a services layer that renders the good more adaptable and smarter for a specific purpose or use. Addition of another communication sensors layer could further enhance its smartness and adaptiveness. Such connected ServGoods constitute a solid foundation for the advanced products of tomorrow which can further display their growing intelligence through real-time decisions.

文章用工程哲学的思想方法,基于可持续发展的理念,探究巨项目决策问题。提出了要用新的思想、新的方法去解决复杂的巨项目决策;构建了巨项目决策模型,其主要内容是巨项目决策的“核心三原则”,即以功能发挥时间最长为原则,以能否带来社会发展质变为原则,以民众和社会发展受益为原则。

基于候选方案排序的进化决策方法

摘要:

由于无法得到准确的期望效用函数,在信息不完全和结果不确定的环境下作出决策是困难的。提出基于候选方案排序的进化决策方法。通常通过分析得出一组与候选方案期望效用相关的指标,设计决策规则归结为寻找二者之间的相关关系。如果将所有候选方案按其对效用有影响的指标分为n类,并利用进化算法在n!空间中搜索全部方案的期望效用排序,则根据此排序作出最佳决策。提出针对排序问题的遗传算法。该方法较少依赖专家知识,无须显式地构造期望效用函数,能有效处理非数值或非量化指标以及指标冲突和指标相关等问题,在带随机噪声环境下仍能获得稳健解。在仿真机器人控制器设计中的应用表明了该方法的有效性。

多目标优化与决策问题的演化算法

近年来,多目标优化与决策问题求解已成为演化计算的一个重要研究方向。为使演化算法的种群解 能尽快收敛并均匀分布于多目标问题的非劣最优域,多目标演化算法的研究热点集中在基于Pareto最优概念的 种群个体的比较与排序、适应值賦值与小生境技术等方面。介绍了多目标优化与决策技术的发展历史与分类方 法,分析了基于Pareto最优概念与不基于Pareto最优概念两大类的多目标演化算法,并详细比较与分析了几种 典型多目标演化算法。其次,论述了与多目标演化算法研究紧密相关的一些问题,如多目标问题解的性质,测 试函数集设计,算法性能评估技术,算法收敛性,并行实现以及实际多目标优化问题的处理等。
