Effect of hyperlipidemia on endothelial VCAM-1 expression and the protective role of fenofibrate

摘要: The effect of hyperlipidemia and inflammation on endothelial functions was studied. The enrolled included control (basic chow), hyperlipidemia and fenofibrate-treated groups (high fat diet). The hyperlipidemia model was set up by four-week atherogenic diet, followed by a 16-week treatment in the fenofibrate-treated group (fenofibrate 40 mg/kg every day) and without treatment in the hyperlipidemia group, respectively. In the 20th week, serum lipid level and NO levels were measured, and the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and cell adhesiveness in aortic endothelia observed by computer-aided system. Compared with the control group, hyperlipidemia rats showed lower levels of NO and ncreases in leukocyte accumulation on the endothelial surface, also stronger and more extensive endothelial expression of VCAM-1. In fenofibrate-treated group, the expression of VCAM-1 and leukocyte accumulation on the endothelial surface was decreased, while serum levels of NO were increased as compared with hyperli pidemia group. Hyperlipidemia can inhibit the NO activity and promote the damage of VACA-1 to aortic endothelia. Fenofibrate can effectively prevent the pathogenesis of atherosclerosis by restoring NO levels and down-regulating the VCAM-1 expression.

Flux-free brazing of Mg-containing aluminium alloys by means of cold spraying

摘要: In the present study, AlSi12 and AlSi10Cu4 were deposited onto Mg-containing aluminium alloys 6063 and 5754 by cold spraying. The influences of the two brazing alloys and spray parameters on coating formation were investigated. The microstructure of the coatings was characterized. Some coated samples were heat-treated at 590°C and 560°C in air to investigate the effect of the rupture of oxide scales on the diffusion of elements during heat-treatment. Some coated samples were brazed under argon atmosphere without any fluxes. The results show that AlSi12 had much better deposition behaviour than AlSi10Cu4. Due to the rupture of oxide scales, Cu and Si diffused into the substrate and a metallurgical bond formed between the brazing alloys and the substrates during heat-treatment. The coated samples could be brazed without any fluxes. Because the oxide scales prevented the formation of a metallurgical bond locally, the brazed samples had relatively low shear strengths of up to 43 MPa.

摘要: MgCl2–NaCl–KCl salts mixture shows great potential as a high-temperature (> 700 °C) thermal energy storage material in next-generation concentrated solar power plants. Adding Mg into molten MgCl2–NaCl–KCl salt as a corrosion inhibitor is one of the most effective and cost-effective methods to mitigate the molten salt corrosion of commercial Fe–Cr–Ni alloys. However, it is found in this work that both stainless steel 310 and Incoloy 800H samples were severely corroded after 500 h immersion test at 700 °C when the alloy samples directly contacted with the over-added Mg in the liquid form. The corrosion attack is different from the classical impurity-driven corrosion in molten chloride salts found in previous work. Microscopic analysis indicates that Ni preferentially leaches out of alloy matrix due to the tendency to form MgNi2/Mg2Ni compounds. The Ni-depletion leads to the formation of a porous corrosion layer on both alloys, with the thickness around 204 µm (stainless steel 310) and 1300 µm (Incoloy 800H), respectively. These results suggest that direct contact of liquid Mg with Ni-containing alloys should be avoided during using Mg as a corrosion inhibitor for MgCl2–NaCl–KCl or other chlorides for high temperature heat storage and transfer.

摘要: Magnesium hydroxide is an important chemical, and is usually obtained from seawater or brine via precipitation process. The particle size distribution of magnesium hydroxide has great effects on the subsequent filtration and drying processes. In this paper, micron-sized magnesium hydroxide with high purity, large particle size and low water content in filter cake was synthesized via simple wet precipitation in a mixed suspension mixed product removal (MSMPR) crystallizer. The effects of reactant concentration, residence time and impurities on the properties of magnesium hydroxide were investigated by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Malvern laser particle size analyzer. The results show that NaOH concentration and residence time have great effects on the water content and particle size of Mg(OH) . The spherical Mg(OH) with uniform diameter of about 30 μm was obtained with purity higher than 99% and water content less than 31%. Furthermore, the crystallization kinetics based on the population balance theory was studied to provide the theoretical data for industrial enlargement, and the simulation coefficients ( ) based on ASL model and C-R model are 0.9962 and 0.9972, respectively, indicating that the crystal growth rate of magnesium hydroxide can be well simulated by the size-dependent growth models.

Fatigue and impact analysis and multi-objective optimization design of Mg/Al assembled wheel considering

摘要: The multi-material assembled light alloy wheel presents an effective lightweight solution for new energy vehicles, but its riveting connection remains a problem. To address this problem, this paper proposed the explicit riveting-implicit springback-implicit fatigue/explicit impact sequence coupling simulation analysis method, analyzed the fatigue and impact performance of the punching riveting connected magnesium/aluminum alloy (Mg/Al) assembled wheel, and constructed some major evaluation indicators. The accuracy of the proposed simulation method was verified by conducting physical experiments of single and cross lap joints. The punching riveting process parameters of the assembled wheel joints were defined as design variables, and the fatigue and impact performance of the assembled wheel was defined as the optimization objective. The connection-performance integration multi-objective optimization design of the assembled wheel considering riveting residual stress was designed via Taguchi experiment, grey relational analysis, analytic hierarchy process, principal component analysis, and entropy weighting methods. The optimization results of the three weighting methods were compared, and the optimal combination of design variables was determined. The fatigue and impact performance of the Mg/Al assembled wheel were effectively improved after optimization.

Effect of process parameters on the density and porosity of laser melted AlSi10Mg/SiC metal matrix composite

摘要:

Laser melting of aluminium alloy—AlSi10Mg has increasingly been used to create specialised products in various industrial applications, however, research on utilising laser melting of aluminium matrix composites in replacing specialised parts have been slow on the uptake. This has been attributed to the complexity of the laser melting process, metal/ceramic feedstock for the process and the reaction of the feedstock material to the laser. Thus, an understanding of the process, material microstructure and mechanical properties is important for its adoption as a manufacturing route of aluminium metal matrix composites. The effects of several parameters of the laser melting process on the mechanical blended composite were thus investigated in this research. This included single track formations of the matrix alloy and the composite alloyed with 5% and 10% respectively for their reaction to laser melting and the fabrication of density blocks to investigate the relative density and porosity over different scan speeds. The results from these experiments were utilised in determining a process window in fabricating near-fully dense parts.

Adsorptive behaviors of humic acid onto freshly prepared hydrous manganese dioxides

摘要: This study focused on the adsorptive behaviors of humic acid onto freshly prepared hydrous MnO(s) (δMnO), and investigated the feasibility of employing δMnO for humic acid removal from drinking water. Effects of such parameters as molecular mass of humic acid, kinds of divalent cations on adsorptive behaviors and possible mechanisms involved were investigated. This study indicated that humic acid with higher molecular mass exhibited more tendency of adsorbing onto &MnO than that with lower molecular mass. Ca facilitated more humic acid adsorption than Mg; UV-Vis spectra analysis indicated higher capabilities of Ca coordinating with acidic functional groups of humic acid than that of Mg. Additionally, ζ potential characterization indicated that Ca showed higher potential of increasing ζ potential of &MnO than Mg. Ca of 1.0 mmol/L increased ζ potential of δMnO

Hybrid optimization algorithm for modeling and management of micro grid connected system

摘要: In this paper, a hybrid optimization algorithm is proposed for modeling and managing the micro grid (MG) system. The management of distributed energy sources with MG is a multi-objective problem which consists of wind turbine (WT), photovoltaic (PV) array, fuel cell (FC), micro turbine (MT) and diesel generator (DG). Because, perfect economic model of energy source of the MG units are needed to describe the operating cost of the output power generated, the objective of the hybrid model is to minimize the fuel cost of the MG sources such as FC, MT and DG. The problem formulation takes into consideration the optimal configuration of the MG at a minimum fuel cost, operation and maintenance costs as well as emissions reduction. Here, the hybrid algorithm is obtained as artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm, which is used in two stages. The first stage of the ABC gets the optimal MG configuration at a minimum fuel cost for the required load demand. From the minimized fuel cost functions, the operation and maintenance cost as well as the emission is reduced using the second stage of the ABC. The proposed method is implemented in the Matlab/Simulink platform and its effectiveness is analyzed by comparing with existing techniques. The comparison demonstrates the superiority of the proposed approach and confirms its potential to solve the problem.

Brown marine algae turbinaria conoides as biosorbent for Malachite green removal: Equilibrium and kinetic modeling

摘要: In this study, the biosorption of Malachite green (MG) onto Turbinaria conoides, brown marine algae, was studied with respect to initial pH, temperature, initial dye concentration, and sorbent dosage. The optimum initial pH and temperature values for MG removal were found to be 8.0 and 30°C, respectively. Sorbent dosage was found to strongly influence the removal of MG. Equilibrium studies were carried out to test the validity of the Langmuir ( = 66.6 mg/g and = 0.526 mL mol/L) and the Freundlich ( = 1.826 and = 3.751 mg/g) isotherms. The kinetic studies indicated the validity of the pseudo first-order and second-order equation.

干细胞归巢,即间充质干细胞定向趋化募集至损伤处,对体内骨再生起重要作用。本文以人纤连蛋白片段III1-C(FF III1-C) 及纤连蛋白类似物的肽序列Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser-Pro-Lys 作为趋化因子,分别共价结合至掺镁羟基磷灰石中,用于研究模拟肽序列接枝的掺镁羟基磷灰石对间充质细胞归巢的调控作用。用于检测间充质干细胞活力的MTT 法初步研究发现释放趋化信号的掺镁羟基磷灰石可有效促进干细胞迁移。

Optimal operation of microgrid using hybrid differential evolution and harmony search algorithm

摘要: This paper proposes the generation scheduling approach for a microgrid comprised of conventional generators, wind energy generators, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage, and electric vehicles. The electrical vehicles (EVs) play two different roles: as load demands during charging, and as storage units to supply energy to remaining load demands in the MG when they are plugged into the microgrid (MG). Wind and solar PV powers are intermittent in nature; hence by including the battery storage and EVs, the MG becomes more stable. Here, the total cost objective is minimized considering the cost of conventional generators, wind generators, solar PV systems and EVs. The proposed optimal scheduling problem is solved using the hybrid differential evolution and harmony search (hybrid DE-HS) algorithm including the wind energy generators and solar PV system along with the battery storage and EVs. Moreover, it requires the least investment.

Fatigue crack initiation of magnesium alloys under elastic stress amplitudes: A review

摘要: The most advantageous property of magnesium (Mg) alloys is their density, which is lower compared with traditional metallic materials. Mg alloys, considered the lightest metallic structural material among others, have great potential for applications as secondary load components in the transportation and aerospace industries. The fatigue evaluation of Mg alloys under elastic stress amplitudes is very important in ensuring their service safety and reliability. Given their hexagonal close packed structure, the fatigue crack initiation of Mg and its alloys is closely related to the deformation mechanisms of twinning and basal slips. However, for Mg alloys with shrinkage porosities and inclusions, fatigue cracks will preferentially initiate at these defects, remarkably reducing the fatigue lifetime. In this paper, some fundamental aspects about the fatigue crack initiation mechanisms of Mg alloys are reviewed, including the 3 followings: 1) Fatigue crack initiation of as-cast Mg alloys, 2) influence of microstructure on fatigue crack initiation of wrought Mg alloys, and 3) the effect of heat treatment on fatigue initiation mechanisms. Moreover, some unresolved issues and future target on the fatigue crack initiation mechanism of Mg alloys are also described.

增材制造(AM)技术具有制备复杂几何结构的能力,为可降解金属植入物的制备提供了前所未有的机会,尤其对具有合适力学性能和良好生物相容性的可降解镁合金。然而,AM可降解镁基植入物面临着许多挑战,如镁粉制备困难以及AM过程中的粉体飞溅和裂纹形成。本文分析了AM可降解镁合金所面临的挑战,并提出了相应的应对策略,成功制备了一种表面光滑且圆整度好的新型镁合金(JDBM)粉体,然后对其AM参数进行了优化。在优化参数的基础上,采用选区激光熔化(SLM)技术制备了三种不同结构(仿生、金刚石和极小曲面)的JDBM多孔支架,并分析了其力学性能和降解行为。最后,筛选出性能最优的极小曲面支架进行透钙磷石(DCPD)涂层处理,该涂层极大地抑制了支架降解速率,并提高了其细胞相容性。AM镁合金支架展现了作为骨组织工程支架的临床应用前景。
