Structural health monitoring with fiber optic sensors

F. ANSARI

Frontiers of Mechanical Engineering 2009, Volume 4, Issue 2,   Pages 103-110 doi: 10.1007/s11465-009-0032-y

Abstract: Optical fiber sensors have been successfully implemented in aeronautics, mechanical systems, and medical applications. Civil structures pose further challenges in monitoring mainly due to their large dimensions, diversity and heterogeneity of materials involved, and hostile construction environment. This article provides a summary of basic principles pertaining to practical health monitoring of civil engineering structures with optical fiber sensors. The issues discussed include basic sensor principles, strain transfer mechanism, sensor packaging, sensor placement in construction environment, and reliability and survivability of the sensors.

Yuxiao Chang, Xiang Li, Lei Ding, Chao Yang, Zhiyuan Pan, Ni Han, Yujun Cui, Fachao Zhi, Ruifu Yang, Hong Gao, Yujing Bi

Engineering 2022, Volume 16, Issue 9,   Pages 210-219 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.03.028

Abstract: Here, we used culturomics to isolate CRC mucosal samples and selected 158 Escherichia coli strainsThrough genomic comparison, these strains were divided into five phylogroups. The representative strains of each phylogroup significantly induced different levels of cytokine secretionphylogroups, which can improve the current understanding of the phenotypic differences between these strains
