A fuzzy integrated congestion-aware routing algorithm for network on chip Research Articles

Shahrouz Yasrebi, Akram Reza, Mohammad Nikravan, Seena Vazifedan,a.reza@qodsiau.ac.ir,a.ak.reza@gmail.com

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2021, Volume 22, Issue 5,   Pages 615-766 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2000069

Abstract: (NoC) is an infrastructure providing a communication platform to multiprocessor chips. Furthermore, the wormhole-switching method, which shares resources, was used to increase its efficiency; however, this can lead to congestion. Moreover, dealing with this congestion consumes more energy and correspondingly leads to increase in power consumption. Furthermore, consuming more power results in more heat and increases thermal fluctuations that lessen the life span of the infrastructures and, more importantly, the network’s performance. Given these complications, providing a method that controls congestion is a significant design challenge. In this paper, a is presented to enhance the NoC’s performance when facing congestion. To avoid congestion, the proposed algorithm employs the occupied input buffer and the total occupied buffers of the neighboring nodes along with the maximum possible path diversity with minimal path length from instant neighbors to the destination as the selection parameters. To enhance the path selection function, the uncertainty of the algorithm is used. As a result, the average delay, power consumption, and maximum delay are reduced by 14.88%, 7.98%, and 19.39%, respectively. Additionally, the proposed method enhances the throughput and the total number of packets received by 14.9% and 11.59%, respectively. To show the significance, the proposed algorithm is examined using transpose traffic patterns, and the average delay is improved by 15.3%. The average delay is reduced by 3.8% in TMPEG-4 (treble MPEG-4), 36.6% in QPIP (quadruplicate PIP), and 20.9% in TVOPD (treble VOPD).

Research and Realization of IP Multicast Routing Protocol

Li Wei

Strategic Study of CAE 2002, Volume 4, Issue 1,   Pages 82-88

Abstract:

This paper first explains why IP multicasting must be used. Then it summaries the fundamentals of IP multicasting and multicast routing protocols. After that it specially discusses protoool independent multicast-sparse mode (PIM-SM), points out its defect and proposes a scheme to solve it. In this scheme each source registers and sends data packets toward multiple rendezvous points (RPs) but receivers only join to a single RP. If one of the RPs fails, receivers will join to one of the alternative RPs quickly. On implementation, the paper centers on the details of implementing PIM-SM. Finally it discusses the problems and prospect of IP multicasting.

Strategic Study of CAE 2021, Volume 23, Issue 1,   Pages 42-51 doi: 10.15302/J-SSCAE-2021.01.008

Abstract:

The Yangtze River Delta is one of the most economically active, open, and innovative regions in China. Further promoting energy revolution, and building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient energy system to promote the coordinated development of the economy, energy, and ecological environment in the Yangtze River Delta is significant to the national strategy of “Integrated Regional Development of the Yangtze River Delta.” This study proposes the idea of building a modern energy system in the Yangtze River Delta based on the local characteristics. The main features, key issues, and overall integration of the system are further discussed. Meanwhile, the economic, environmental, and social benefits brought by the modern energy system to the Yangtze River Delta are predicted. Furthermore, we propose that a unified energy leading agency should be established to build a demonstration area for energy integration; energy system reforms should be deepened to cultivate the energy market; the Internet Plus Smart Energy strategy should be implemented to promote high-quality energy development; and energy technology venture capital funds should be established.

A traffic-aware Q-network enhanced routing protocol based on GPSR for unmanned aerial vehicle ad-hoc networks Research Articles

Yi-ning Chen, Ni-qi Lyu, Guang-hua Song, Bo-wei Yang, Xiao-hong Jiang,ch19930611@zju.edu.cn,lvniqi@gmail.com,ghsong@zju.edu.cn,boweiy@zju.edu.cn,jiangxh@zju.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2020, Volume 21, Issue 9,   Pages 1308-1320 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1900401

Abstract: In dense traffic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) ad-hoc networks, traffic congestion can cause increased delay and packet loss, which limit the performance of the networks; therefore, a strategy is required to control the traffic. In this study, we propose TQNGPSR, a traffic-aware enhanced protocol based on greedy perimeter stateless routing (GPSR), for UAV ad-hoc networks. The protocol enforces a strategy using the congestion information of neighbors, and evaluates the quality of a wireless link by the algorithm, which is a algorithm. Based on the evaluation of each wireless link, the protocol makes routing decisions in multiple available choices to reduce delay and decrease packet loss. We simulate the performance of TQNGPSR and compare it with AODV, OLSR, GPSR, and QNGPSR. Simulation results show that TQNGPSR obtains higher packet delivery ratios and lower end-to-end delays than GPSR and QNGPSR. In high node density scenarios, it also outperforms AODV and OLSR in terms of the packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay, and throughput.

Approximating Characteristics of Fuzzy Systems With Arbitrary Membership Function

Zhang Zhao,Pei Yanling,Zheng Aihong

Strategic Study of CAE 2005, Volume 7, Issue 8,   Pages 47-50

Abstract:

While quadrilateral membership function is used as general membership function, Stone-Weierstrass theorem is utilized to prove that fuzzy systems with arbitrary membership functions are capable of approximating any continuous function on a compact set. It is a generalization for theory of basic fuzzy systems approximating any continuous non-linear function. The performance of fuzzy systems to approximate random non-linear function is the theoretical basis of fuzzy system's application in system identification.

An Internet of Energy Things Based on Wireless LPWAN

Yonghua Song,Jin Lin,Ming Tang,Shufeng Dong

Engineering 2017, Volume 3, Issue 4,   Pages 460-466 doi: 10.1016/J.ENG.2017.04.011

Abstract:

Under intense environmental pressure, the global energy sector is promoting the integration of renewable energy into interconnected energy systems. The demand-side management (DSM) of energy systems has drawn considerable industrial and academic attention in attempts to form new flexibilities to respond to variations in renewable energy inputs to the system. However, many DSM concepts are still in the experimental demonstration phase. One of the obstacles to DSM usage is that the current information infrastructure was mainly designed for centralized systems, and does not meet DSM requirements. To overcome this barrier, this paper proposes a novel information infrastructure named the Internet of Energy Things (IoET) in order to make DSM practicable by basing it on the latest wireless communication technology: the low-power wide-area network (LPWAN). The primary advantage of LPWAN over general packet radio service (GPRS) and area Internet of Things (IoT) is its wide-area coverage, which comes with minimum power consumption and maintenance costs. Against this background, this paper briefly reviews the representative LPWAN technologies of narrow-band Internet of Things (NB-IoT) and Long Range (LoRa) technology, and compares them with GPRS and area IoT technology. Next, a wireless-to-cloud architecture is proposed for the IoET, based on the main technical features of LPWAN. Finally, this paper looks forward to the potential of IoET in various DSM application scenarios.

A Cyber-Physical Routing Protocol Exploiting Trajectory Dynamics for Mission-Oriented Flying Ad Hoc Networks Article

Die Hu, Shaoshi Yang, Min Gong, Zhiyong Feng, Xuejun Zhu

Engineering 2022, Volume 19, Issue 12,   Pages 217-227 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2021.10.022

Abstract:

As a special type of mobile ad hoc network (MANET), the flying ad hoc network (FANET) has the potential to enable a variety of emerging applications in both civilian wireless communications (e.g., 5G and 6G) and the defense industry. The routing protocol plays a pivotal role in FANET. However, when designing the routing protocol for FANET, it is conventionally assumed that the aerial nodes move randomly. This is clearly inappropriate for a mission-oriented FANET (MO-FANET), in which the aerial nodes typically move toward a given destination from given departure point(s), possibly along a roughly deterministic flight path while maintaining a well-established formation, in order to carry out certain missions. In this paper, a novel cyber-physical routing protocol exploiting the particular mobility pattern of an MO-FANET is proposed based on cross-disciplinary integration, which makes full use of the mission-determined trajectory dynamics to construct the time sequence of rejoining and separating, as well as the adjacency matrix for each node, as prior information. Compared with the existing representative routing protocols used in FANETs, our protocol achieves a higher packet-delivery ratio (PDR) at the cost of even lower overhead and lower average end-to-end latency, while maintaining a reasonably moderate and stable network jitter, as demonstrated by extensive ns-3-based simulations assuming realistic configurations in an MO-FANET.

Strategic Study of CAE 2015, Volume 17, Issue 9,   Pages 18-28

Abstract:

The “golden triangle” in terms of energy is in the crisis of development opportunity and the large-scale energy development leads a rapid economic development, so it takes a critical strategic position in energy structure of China. This paper elaborates the regional developing situation and comparative advantages on the development of energy, economy and society in this area, emphasizes severe homogenization on industrial structure, wasteful development of energy resource, disordered competition of coal conversion industry, high pressure of energy export, water shortage, and vulnerable ecological environment faced in the regional development. And it proposes strategic thinking of “overall plan, scientific development, ordered conversion, distribution optimization, multi-function synergy, low carbon ecology” to build the energy “golden triangle” pilot region for comprehensive reforms and promote regional integration development, and provides reference for promoting regional industry up gradation and sustainable development.

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 7,   Pages 82-89

Abstract:

Today, with new services and applications blooming on the internet, to enable traditional routers to offer enough capability and speed of upgrade along with these services and applications in time would become even harder than ever. Run-time reconfiguration (RTR), based on the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), is a new promising technology that can configure the partial or total hardware logic resources of a system at run time. Based on the technology, reconfigurable routers can support dynamic reconfiguration of new hardware logic for the new service, while keeping the other services still run properly, hence can provide a new possible solution to the update problem of the traditional routers. After introducing the basic concepts of RTR and the current development of the FPGA, this paper summarizes the past major research efforts with respect to the reconfigurable router, as well as the current work on it. Research directions and open problems are also discussed from the point of view of reconfigurable network.

Water resource and surface ecology protection technology of modern coal mining in China’s energy “Golden Triangle”

Gu Dazhao

Strategic Study of CAE 2013, Volume 15, Issue 4,   Pages 102-107

Abstract:

The energy "Golden Triangle", which consists of Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Gansu and Ningxia, accounts for two-thirds of coal reserves and the overall coal production of China. The energy “Golden Triangle” plays an important role in the country's coal supply network, but it has only 3.9 percents of water resource in China. According to the contradiction between modern coal mining and severe water scarcity, the groundwater migration law and surface ecology environment self-recovery law with the development of modern coal mining is revealed, using innovative research method based on modern coal mining project of Shendong area. The coal mine distributed underground reservoirs and surface ecology recovery technology is firstly developed under the condition of modern coal mining in Western China, and the demonstration project is successfully established, which puts forward effective technical way to conservation of water resources and surface ecology recovery.
