A novel method for PAPR reduction of the OFDM signal using nonlinear scaling and FM Regular Article

Yi-hu Xu, Jung-Yeol Oh, Zhen-hao Sun, Myoung-Seob Lim,xuyh@ybu.edu.cn,mslim@jbnu.ac.kr

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 11,   Pages 1587-1594 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800438

Abstract: (OFDM) has been adopted as standard beginning with the 4 generation mobile communication system because of its high-bit-rate transmission capability under frequency selective fading channel conditions. However, a major disadvantage of OFDM is the non-constant envelope signal with a high (PAPR). The high peak signal in OFDM is distorted through a nonlinear amplifier, which causes bit error ratio (BER) reduction. Many techniques have been developed for reducing PAPR at the cost of inefficient bandwidth usage or throughput because of the additional information about PAPR reduction. We propose a novel method, in which the high peak signal above the threshold of the nonlinear amplification region is nonlinearly downscaled to lower the PAPR. The time slot location and scaling ratio for where and how the high peak baseband OFDM signal is downscaled are transmitted using (FM) combined with OFDM, which requires less additional bandwidth than the previously proposed methods. Simulation results show that the proposed novel method provides a lower PAPR and elicits a better BER performance compared with other conventional methods, because it reduces the PAPR by and restores the pre-distorted signal using FM.

Study on motion compensation method for MMW Chirp - SF radar

Wang Guili,Li Xingguo

Strategic Study of CAE 2008, Volume 10, Issue 7,   Pages 184-187

Abstract:

MMW Chirp - SF radar is a kind of radar to get high range resolution, but the problem of rangevelocity coupling is serious. So it is necessary to carry out the motion compensation in order to increase the range resolution of moving target. This paper puts forward a velocity measurement method compounding the Pulse Doppler velocity measurement and the time-domain correlation method based on Chirp - SF signal. The simulations results show that this method can be used to measure velocity accurately with simple arithmetic and high speed.

Strategic Study of CAE 2009, Volume 11, Issue 9,   Pages 68-73

Abstract:

Development and application of pseudo-random code combined fuze can be guided in theory by researching its anti-jamming performance. The anti-noise FM jamming performance of pseudo-random code phase modulation and sine FM combined fuze is analyzed based on the criterion of signal to jamming ratioin (SJR) gain in this paper. First, the principle of the combined fuze was introduced, and its overall SJR gain is reduced in detail under the noise FM jamming, then, the factors affecting its anti-noise FM jamming performance were analyzed, such as the nth order Bessel function of the first kind, Doppler frequency, pseudo-random code period, pulse width, and spot error. The results provide the important theoretic foundation for the improvement on anti-noise FM jamming performance of the combined fuze. At the same time, the studying method put forward in this paper may be used as the reference for analyzing anti-jamming performance of other type of fuzes.

Strategic Study of CAE 2007, Volume 9, Issue 11,   Pages 39-42

Abstract:

An experimental FM radio based non-cooperative bistatic radar is briefly described,  and two related key techniques,  i. e. line-of-sight (LOS) signal cancellation and targets detection,  are listed in this paper.  Other than algorithms appeared in most papers,  NLMS based non-causal filters are used to equalize the array multi-channel differences.  The LOS signal about 80 dB above the noise level is cancelled completely after joint time-space processing.  Civil airplanes are detected 300 km away.  Experimental data verifies the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 3,   Pages 433-446 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200298

Abstract: obtains high-resolution radar images by synthesizing multiple narrowband chirp pulses. It has been one of the most commonly used waveforms due to its lower demand for radar instant bandwidth. In this paper, we propose a method using two-dimensional against imaging radar. Using the unique property of , the proposed method can generate high-level sidelobes that perform as a special blanket jamming along both the range and azimuth directions and make the target unrecognizable. Then, the influence of different modulation parameters, such as the code width and duty ratio, are further discussed. Based on this, the corresponding parameter design principles are presented. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is demonstrated by the Yake-42 plane data simulation and measured unmanned aerial vehicle data experiment.

Ultra-wideband FMCW ISAR imaging with a large rotation angle based on block-sparse recovery Article

Ke JIN, Tao LAI, Gong-quan LI, Ting WANG, Yong-jun ZHAO

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2017, Volume 18, Issue 12,   Pages 2058-2069 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1601310

Abstract: Ultra-wideband frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar has the ability to achieve high-range resolution. Combined with the inverse synthetic aperture technique, high azimuth resolution can be realized under a large rotation angle. However, the range-azimuth coupling problem seriously restricts the inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging performance. Based on the turntable model, traditional match-filter-based, range Doppler algorithms (RDAs) and the back projection algorithm (BPA) are investigated. To eliminate the sidelobe effects of traditional algorithms, compressed sensing (CS) is preferred. Considering the block structure of a signal at high resolution, a block-sparsity adaptive matching pursuit algorithm (BSAMP) is proposed. By matching pursuit and backtracking, a signal with unknown sparsity can be recovered accurately by updating the support set iteratively. Finally, several experiments are conducted. In comparison with other algorithms, the results from processing the simulation data, some simple targets, and a complex target indicate the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm.

Strategic Study of CAE 2002, Volume 4, Issue 6,   Pages 56-62

Abstract:

The packaging of micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) is referred to first-level packaging and limited generally to the preservation of wafer in this paper. It is based on bulk silicon bonding technology and film sealed technology. The bulk silicon bonding technology includes electrostatic bonding, silicon direct bonding and interfacial layer assisted bonding. It is used for making material acting as substrate or cover of the chip. The film sealed technology includes whole-wafer operation, local-wafer operation and selective preservation. It is used to seal micro channel or micro hole to form a vacuum or low-pressure cavity or protect from atmosphere influence. The very high importance not to forget packaging at the beginning of a project, when hoping to industrialize MEMS is discussed. In order to obtain high performance-price ratio,it is necessary to weigh the device performance against the chip complexity. The commercialized pressure sensors, accelerometers, digital micro mirror devices, etc., collected from literatures are used as examples.

Strategic Study of CAE 2000, Volume 2, Issue 3,   Pages 62-66

Abstract:

Measurement is an important means for obtaining information in research and production. Both the quality of products and the productivity of production highly depend on measurement. An important trend in the development of measurement is its merging with information technology. The requirements in high accuracy of measurement, on-line and dynamic measurements, measurements of complicated parameters and under complex conditions and intelligent measurements ask for the merging of measurements with information technology. This merging is carried out through the whole process. Modulation and demodulation, data sampling and reconstruction, signal merging, data compression, filtering, signal transformation, time series analysis, spectrum analysis, data fitting and modeling, pattern recognition, neural network, simulation and virtual measurement, error separation, error compensation, redundancy technique, decision making, intelligent techniques, etc. , are widely used in measurements. Some practical examples of this merging are given in the paper. The accuracy of coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) can be greatly enhanced by using error compensation technique. Modeling, error calibration and compensation software are three key techniques in error compensation of CMMs. Applications of redundancy technique in roundness and spindle error motion measurement, in large scale metrology are presented as well. Redundancy technique provides a powerful means in optimization of measurements, system self-calibration, error compensation, recovering the lost information and many other applications.
