Technological innovation in the pharmaceutical and health industry is related to the national economy and people’s livelihood, and it is an important embodiment of a country’s scientific and technological competitiveness. The special topic of “Research on Technological Innovation of Pharmaceutical and Health Industry” aims at the bottlenecks that restrict the technological innovation of China’s pharmaceutical and health industry. It analyzes the development status, basic research bottlenecks, and technological innovation shortcomings of the industry, focuses on the study of mechanism reforms and resource allocation optimization to support technological innovation, and puts forward countermeasures to promote the sustainable development of the industry, thereby promoting self-reliance and self-improvement. Coal is vital to China’s energy security. The major consulting project of “Research on the Scientific System and Strategic Path of Carbon Neutral Development of China’s Coal Industry” investigates and analyzes the current status of carbon emission reduction in China’s coal industry, and explores the carbon emissions and carbon reduction potentials of the entire industrial chain covering the production, consumption, and carbon sequestration ends. Considering the development trends of the coal industry, it proposes the carbon reduction objectives, strategic layout, and scientific system of the coal industry, and provides suggestions for promoting the structural transformation and high-quality development of the coal industry. The aviation industry is an important component of China’s national economy and has shown a sustained and rapid growth trend along with the rapid growth of China’s economy and the continuous deepening of globalization. The special topic of “Strategic Research on the Green and Low-Carbon Development of China’s Aviation Industry” sorts out the development status and challenges of carbon emission reduction in China’s aviation industry and systematically analyzes the ideas, goals, and implementation paths for implementing the green and low-carbon development strategy in the entire chains of aviation manufacturing, air transport, and air traffic management, so as to provide scientific support for China’s aviation industry to achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutralization goals.
